I cannot sign on to sync to get my passwords and bookmarks back after update of FF... Please help

A few weeks ago my FF browser updated to 29.0.1 and since then I can no longer access my saved password file or bookmarks. This is extremely frustrating and I have tried everything I could figure out to try, even used my back - up to reload from a previous date with no luck. Then FF reloaded the new version again. Here is my problem. I have other devices, (Smartphone, Android tablet) that both use FF mobile on them and they have my bookmarks still. I think if I could retrieve my sync account, I could get this all back, only problem is, I have not had to use that password in years along with changing my ISP a few years back, so it does not even recognize my e-mail address. FF apparently has no phone support or at least I cannot find it and I would like to straighten this out with them. I tried reaching them on Facebook with no reply. I just don't know what to do any more and need those passwords and bookmarks ......

hello, firefox 29 has introduced a new sync system which isn't compatible with accounts set up in prior versions.
# in this case you'd probably have to use a workaround and first download the prior firefox 28 version and disable automatic updating for the moment (in options > advanced > update): [[Install an older version of Firefox]]
#on your android device go into the system's ''settings'' app and into ''accounts & synchronisation'' (might be worded slightly different on various android devices), go to firefox sync & tap on pair a device.
#on your desktop go to ''firefox > options > sync > set up firefox sync > i have an account'' which will show you a 3x4 character code that you'll have to enter into your android device in order to complete the process.

How do I get my "save and quit" back I do not like having to close all my tabs and loose all that every time I close out of firefox. When I got the latest version of firefox I lost the ability for firefox to save my tabs when I close out of it. I have to go through the process of opening all my tabs and refinding the sites all over again each time I load up firefox. I can not find the place to change the settings to being back the way they were before firefox got the latest version. I want my "save and quit" back.

Firefox 4 saves the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
You can use "Firefox > History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page. 
Another possibility is to use:

How can i get my photos and videos back after backing up from my 2nd generation ipod into my 5th generation ipod? I really need those photos but i dont know how.

I downloaded the new itunes. So, i plugged in my 5th generation ipod and when i plugged it in, it asked me if i want to set it as new ipod or back up from the 2nd generation ipod touch that i plugged in before, i accidently clicked on the back up from before so it when its done, it looked like my 2nd gen. ipod and i dont like it. All my photos and videos from 5th gen. Ipod were all gone and there are some pictures that i really need as soon as possible. Is there a way i can i can get those photos and videos back? I just got another Iphone4 from apple today as my older one got broken. After I plugged in my Iphone it did the whole back up thing but all of my contacts and my photos have been erased from my Iphone. I'm wondering how I'm able to get them all back. Some of my friends suggested going on fb and adding everyone back but that will take a while as I had another of contacts on my phone including contacts that do not have fb. I have tried restoring my Iphone from my old back up on I tunes. It just restored my Iphone back to the state it was in yesterday, with the same apps with no contacts or pictures....

How do I get my history and bookmarks back to work?

I downgraded my Firefox from version 7.0.1 to 3.6.22, because some of the really important add-ons didn't work on version 7 anymore and it said, that there were no updates for them right now. And after I downgraded Firefox, it keeps saying, that it can't create a history and bookmarks since something else is using the files required for creating history and bookmarks.
I troubleshooted already and tried everything I could find on the Firefox Support Page, but it didn't help.
So, I really hope you guys have any idea what else I could do to get this fixed. :)

Do NOT take any option that says something like remove personal settings, because that is likely to remove profiles from all normally installed versions of firefox resulting in the loss of bookmarks, passwords, and other settings.
It is too late to help now, but it is always good practice to somehow back up your bookmarks e.g. manually

Firefox does try to keep backups, but they are in your profile, and can get corrupted or deleted in some circumstances

Can you post the exact wording of the message it may help in working out what is happening ?
It will certainly be worth starting in Firefox's [[safe mode]] by for example holding the shift key as you start, or using the menu option.
* do not make any changes on the first option window you see, just click on continue
* use only the default theme
* if it does not improve then whilst still in safe mode temporarily disable all plugins

It may well be a sensible precaution to preserve the current situation/data by backing up your profile by simply copying it and its folders and files to some location such as your desktop. (Quickest way to find its location firefox button -> help -> troubleshooting information -> profile [open containing folder] )

How do I get my bookmarks back after update?

I did the new update on my work Mac a couple days ago and it added all of my Safari bookmarks from my personal MacBook Pro. I deleted a few of the bookmarks that I didn't need on that Mac.
I just did the update on my MacBook Pro, not thinking anything about it, and now a couple of full folders of bookmarks that I had are gone and all of the bookmarks from my Mac are there too. Is there a way to get my old bookmarks back and to prevent them from disappearing if I delete on one Mac and not the other??

Music is never sync'd back across, its always done manually. Apps should automatically sync back across after you restore from backup.

How do I get my bookmarks back after updating to Windows 7?

I updated to Windows 7 on a new hard drive. I backed up my C:\ drive to a Seagate external hard drive first. After installing Windows & all my programs. I restored the data from my Seagate drive, but I don't have any bookmarks from Firefox. I had over 50 bookmarks and they are all missing. I tried opening the backup and starting Firefox from inside the backup, but I got the newly loaded Firefox with no bookmarks. How can I get them back?

I upgraded to ios5 and all of my music and apps were deleted off of my phone. how do i get it back, especially my music becase all the muic on my phone was from just one computer. i've tried the back up option but it doesnt do anything.

Regardless of where the content came from, backups do not contain media.
It is ultimately up to the user to manage their content and ensure it all exists in an accessible location.

Quicktime 7 - I get the logo and a ? next to it! please help

I had Quicktime 7 and recently I updated it (a window popped up saying there was a new update and if I wanted to download it) and afterwards, all of these online stream videos that used to work now have the Quicktime Q logo with a question mark on it.
For example, the picture shows up on the videos in Youtube and so many more times in practically all of the sites I go to that shows some kind of video. I tried "repairing" Quicktime by downloading it again, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but it still ends up that way. What should I do?

Some sites use Adobe Flash format, and if QuickTime is set to enable Flash, it will try to play those videos which, unless they're in an older Flash format, it can't. Make sure you have the latest Flash player installed, then open the QuickTime control panel, go to the Advanced tab, and make sure that the checkbox that says "Enable Flash" is unchecked.

Recovery Mode
1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.
