I cannot start my iMac, what can I do?
Start with the basics:
• Check the fuse in the power lead by trying another rated fuse.
• Double check that the power lead is fully pushed into it's recess in the back of the Mac; it should sit flush with the surround.
• Check the power socket by plugging in something else like a hair dryer etc.
If all that checks out then you have a problem which you probably won't be able to resolve, especially if the iMac won't physically power-up.
I would suggest packing it up and taking it back to where you bought it from in that case.

I am using I Photo 4.0.3. When I start it, loading pictures never ends and I cannot use I Photo; What can I do?
When did this begin? Did you run any updaters just before this began and, if so, what were they?
That's a very old iPhoto version so give this a try:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down.
2 - select Options #3 and #4.
4 - Rebuild the library.
If that fails to help continue with this:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button,
navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the Library ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments. However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I backed up my I-tunes library (by dragging my "music" folder to my new external hard drive. Now 6,000 songs won't play stating, "original file cannot be found." What can I do to get these songs back???!!!
Try putting the files back where they were before you moved them, then follow the steps in this Apple document -> iTunes: Back up your iTunes library by copying to an external hard drive

Help would be appreciated! Before I upgrade my 10.6.8 OS X I need to back up files. Trying to reformat a WD 1TB external hard drive but my utilities keeps saying "choose scheme from volume pop up menu.." also says "this partition cannot be modified." What can I do?! Select the Top Most Entry for that drive, it will be the drive model # and have the size listed, then go to the Partition tab and select One Partition from the Partition Layout area drop down. Then select Mac OS Extended (Journaled) as the format, if that is the format you want to format it AS. Then click the Options button near the bottom of that windows and select GUID as the Partition Table. Close the options screen and clcik the Apply button.

While updating my iTunes this message came up "Service 'apple mobile device' (apple mobile device) failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services" what can I do to get my iTunes to work again?
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.

To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware. -

Everytime I try to start FaceTime it says: "There has occured a problem with FaceTime. You have to stop FaceTime and start it again" What can I do about this?
Same problem as well as the network failure. Apple Care was suggesting a full reinstall and I declined. I thought it worked once but I can't be sure ... it might have been Skype which works perfectly.

If you are using a standalone version of Lightroom, you may have updated with the CC-licensed update. That will not work. If this is your situation then it will be necessary for you to uninstall Lightroom and then install an update from a different website. Assuming that you are using Lightroom 5, this is where you need to download from:

After you make the change you will be able to continue from where you left off. The switchover does not affect your images or your catalog. -

I have downloaded the Lightroom CC(2015) after downloadibg the programm wont start. I have, stuped done, uninstalled the earlier version 5.7.1. This version is not possibel to download again. So now I have no Lightroom.

Hi. My device won't update iOS in settings. It won't download any new apps for me. (It is connected to the internet). The latest app I tried to download appears stuck! Has not completed its download, won't open and I cannot delete it. What can I do? I purchased the product online a year ago. I'm not sure of the exact date... I think it was late November 2012.

I have over 2000 tunes in my ITunes library but I cannot use most of them because their "Original files" cannot be found. What can I do to correct this ?
This happens if the file is no longer where iTunes expects to find it. Possible causes are that you or some third party tool has moved, renamed or deleted the file, or that the drive it lives on has had a change of drive letter. It is also possible that iTunes has changed from expecting the files to be in the pre-iTunes 9 layout to post-iTunes 9 layout, or vice-versa, and so is looking in slightly the wrong place.
Select a track with an exclamation mark, use Ctrl-I to get info, then cancel when asked to try to locate the track. Look on the summary tab for the location that iTunes thinks the file should be. Now take a look around your hard drive(s). Hopefully you can locate the track in question. If a section of your library has simply been moved, or a drive letter has changed, it should be possible to reverse the actions.
Alternatively, as long as you can find a location holding the missing files, then you should be able to use my FindTracks script to reconnect them to iTunes.
