  • Since I upgraded my computer to Win8 I cannot Sync my Ipad

I upgraded my computer to Win8 and now cannot Sync my Ipad since it is looking for a computer name that no longer exists. How do I get to sync my iPad again?  I have "authorised this computer" in iTunes but that doesn't work.

    I hope these steps help.
    1) Make a new user - the steps are in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1199
    2) Log into that user, open iTunes, agree, etc. - it will probably work
    3) If it does, it tells us that iTunes (the program) is fine but it's encountering something unexpected
    4) Go back to your user, and try to open iTunes while holding option and making a new library - like suggested in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1589
    5) Your iTunes will be empty. This is ok. Your files are not touched by this process.
    6) If iTunes doesn't quit when loading an empty library, you could try rebuilding the iTunes Library as Apple documents in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451
    7) If iTunes does quit, it could be trying to grab something - like photo information to sync to your iPad - and that's where it finds the unexpected data. Maybe try moving the iPod Photo Cache? http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1324 should guide you for how to do that.
If you tell us whether it is library-specific, user-specific, or system-wide (happens in both users), we could maybe give you better advice on what's going on.'
If the new user has the same behavior, maybe remove the SC Info folder - there are not many system-wide files iTunes touches. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1389 covers how to remove that invisible folder.
iTunes uses /Applications/iTunes.app, /Users/Shared/SC Info, ~/Music/iTunes/ and ~/Library/Preferences/ and a bunch of other files. I think the most effective way to help you is knowing whether the issue is system-wide or user-specific.
I hope this helps and feel free to reply if this is all confusing.

    Hi Ahmed,
In iTunes, go to the Store in the left menu, select iTunes Store, wehn it opens, make sure you are on the home screen (icon of a house in the menu bar) and from the righthand side, select Account.
Next you will see all of your account information. Just a little don, you will find: Apple ID overview, there it says, Authorised computers; click on the button to deauthorise.
    And you should be done.

  • HT203167 I cannot sync my iPad or iPhone to iTunes on my Windows 8 PC, even though I have been doing this successfully for years. I have been through all the troubleshooting steps I can find in iTunes, to no avail. Help please?

I cannot sync my iPad or iPhone to iTunes on my Windows 8 PC, even though I have been doing this successfully for years. I have been through all the troubleshooting steps I can find in iTunes, to no avail. Help please?

I seem to be having the same problem on my Windows 8 laptop... I am able to update my iPod Nano through iTunes but my iPhone is not recognized as a device in iTunes. Have been able to update my iPad until recently. Is this a bug fix that Apple can help with? I'd rather not uninstall all my Apple programs if I can avoid it...

  • Cannot sync the ipad with iTunes

I synced the new iPad with iTunes and every photo I had on the Mac (I didn't know that I wouldn't be ask first) went to the iPad.  Now I cannot sync the iPad to delete the photos because there is not enough memory to properly sync with iTunes.  Can anyone help me correct this?

This is not selected by itself - this is selected under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes, which must be manually selected or is selected automatically when transferring the backup from another iOS device to the iPad if this is selected under the Photos tab for the other iOS device.
Have you tried deselecting Sync Photos under the Photos tab for your iPad sync preferences with iTunes?

  • TS3274 why i cannot sync the iPad with iTunes

Can somebody help? why i cannot sync the ipad with the itunes right after i have synced my iphone sucessfully.
they are both with the latest vesions. the dialogue box keeps on "dong..dong...dong" all the time and is saying "itunes could not connect to this iphone. This iphone is no longer connected".

I have no clue what "dong, dong, dong" means unless you actually referring to sounds cpming from the computer.
Eject the iPad, quit iTunes, restart your computer, reset the iPad and try again.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Cannot sync my iPad mini or my iPod touch. I have never had problems in past. Last sync, Jan. 2013

Cannot sync my iPad mini or my iPod touch. I have never had problems in past. Last sync, Jan. 2013. Have done diagnostic on both with itunes as it does recognize them and they comes up clean. Where do I go from here?

The music should be on your syncing computer.  Just sync the music to the iPod.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
However, the music and movie redownload is only applicable to the USA with the latest iTunes since iCloud (beta) is now available in the USA.

  • Cannot sync my ipad . . . keep getting message " requires version 10.6.3" or later . . . I've already downloaded 10.7 to my mac . . . won't recognize Ipad either . . . help

    Cannot sync my ipad . . . keep getting message " requires version 10.6.3" or later . . . I've already downloaded 10.7 to my mac . . . won't recognize Ipad either . . . help

I'm having a similar problem. Perhaps more complex. I just downloaded the 10.6.3 and it didn't solve the problem for my iPhone 5.
I have the new iPhone 5 and iTunes is asking for iTunes 7.0 in order to recognize the phone. I tried to download iTunes 7.0 but an error comes up stating that I need the 10.6.8. Well I tried to download the 10.6.8 and an error message came up saying that I need minimum of 10.6. So now I'm confused....
These are the error messages in order.
    1. The iPhone “iPhone” cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 10.7 or later. Go to www.itunes.com to download the latest version of iTunes.
    2. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.6.8 or higher.
    3. This update requires Mac OS X version 10.6.
Will I have to pay for the 10.6?
    Thanks so much in advance.

  • Cannot sync my iPad to my new iMac even though I deauthorized my old computer.

Cannot sync my iPad to my new iMac even though I deauthorized my old computer.

    Only purchases transfer over.
That is how it is designed to be.
Some of the information below has subsequently appeared in a document by turingtest2: Recovering your iTunes library from your iPod or iOS device - https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3991
Your i-device was not designed for unique storage of your media. It is not a backup device and media transfer was designed for you maintaining a master copy of your media on a computer which is itself properly backed up against loss. Syncing is one way, computer to device, updating the device content to the content on the computer, not updating or restoring content on a computer. The exception is iTunes Store purchased content.
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1848 - only media purchased from iTunes Store
For transferring other items from an i-device to a computer you will have to use third party commercial software. Examples (check the web for others; this is not an exhaustive listing, nor do I have any idea if they are any good):

  • Cannot sync my ipad because the connection was reset?

I can't sync my ipad or iphone because an error code comes up stating that it cannot be synced because the connection was reset.  It comes up after the backup process of the sync session.

Try another cable and be sure it's genuine Apple. Also make sure there is no debris in the connection area of the device.

  • I cannot sync my ipad photos to itunes on Windows 7 because it can't find   a "new folder." I don't know what this means. How to fix it?

I can't sync my ipad photos to windows itunes in Windows 7 because it can;t find a "new folder" How do I fix this?

It's not entirely clear to me, but I assume that you are trying to copy photos from the iPad to your computer (as opposed to syncing photos from your computer to the iPad), possibly using the windows camera wizard ? If so then the message is saying that it can't find a folder called 'New folder' on your computer which is presumably where it copied the last set of photos to (?). I don't use the wizard to copy the photos from iPad (I do it manually via windows explorer) so I don't know how it works, but aren't you able to tell it to copy the photos to a different folder on your computer other than one called 'new folder' ?  This page gives basic info for copying photos from the iPad to your computer http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083 (it is not done via iTunes).
If you want to copy photos to the iPad from your computer then there are instructions on this page http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4236 - that is done via iTunes using the Photos tab on the right-hand side of iTunes when you've selected the iPad on the left-hand side of it
