I cannot turn my iphone on
I cannot turn my iphone on. Everytime I try the actual charger shows up(not like im charging it but the charger itself...then an arrow right above that then above that is the itunes icon(which ive never used itunes on this phone before..what do I do?
The phone is telling you that you must sync it with your itunes (on the computer you have used in the past - this is used to restore from a backup). If you never used itunes, then you'll be resetting to factory condition.

Cannot turn on iphone cellular calls error
When trying to activate iPhone Cellular Calls, I get the error "cannot turn on iphone cellular calls error, FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone cellular calls" I am signed onto the same accounts in both places and cannot figure out what is wrong. Any help would be appreciated! Thank you
If you're trying to make calls from a mac, then you should make sure to enable FaceTime calls from your AppleID (email address) on both the mac and the iPhone. Don't uncheck your phone number, either. FaceTIme should be enabled on both devices with both your phone number and your AppleID.
For some reason, this is what had to be done for me to be able to make phone calls from my mac without receiving this message on my iPhone. I know it isn't ideal because we shouldn't have to enable FaceTime calls via AppleID, especially if we won't be using it with our AppleID, but this is what worked for me. Once you enable FaceTime calling from your AppleID on both the iPhone and your mac (while also keeping the calling enabled via your phone number), then try to turn on iPhone cellular calling on your iPhone. It should work, and then you can try to make a cellular call on your mac.
Some people may think that this isn't a fix because they might think I am talking about FaceTime audio calls. But I'm not. Try this and report back if you can. -
Cannot Turn On iPhone Cellular Calls - FaceTime and iCloud must be signed in to the same Apple ID to use iPhone Cellular Calls.
I *AM* signed into Facetime and iCloud using the same Apple ID. Why am I receiving this error all of a sudden? I make calls using my Mac and need this feature. I have tried disabling and re-enabling both over a dozen times. TRUST ME, it is NOT user error -- it is Apple releasing features before they are fully ready error!I'm pretty sure we can clarify whether or not we are on a Public Beta or not, despite NDA........

Cannot turn off my Iphone 4s. Hold the button down but cannot get it to raise the apple logo and shut off. Also "searching" and cannot use phone.
Have you tried pressing the Sleep/wake button at the top of the phone, and holding it for a few seconds?

I plugged my iphone into my computer, clicked "Check for Updates" and it downloaded the software and installed it.. and then while it was "Verifying Software Update" it gets an error saying "The iphone "iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occured. (6)"
Then a picture of itunes and a usb cable shows up on my iphone screen.
So I unlug it and plug it back in, and itunes then says "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes."
So, I click OK and thn Restore. Then it says "Are you sure you want to restore your iphone "iphone" to it's factory settings? All of your media and other data will be erased, and the newest version of the iphone software will be installed." So I click "Restore and Update" (because if I click cancel, I still can't do anything but click restore, and it gives the same message everytime.)
So, once I click Restore and Update, it then starts that process. Then I get another error in the middle of it "Verifying Software" saying "The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured. (6)" I then click OK. Itunes again no longer finds my device and my iphone screen shows ituness and a usb cable.
NOW I CANNOT TURN MY IPHONE ON, BECAUSE WHEN I DO ALL I SEE IS THE ITUNES PICTURE AND A USB CABLE. UGHHH OMG, HELP/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic_ __/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images /migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not- avail.png
Also, under version, it now says my iphone is Up to Date with its software.
Also, everytime I connect the iphone to my computer, itunes says "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes."
So, I can't restore my phone... I can't use my phone because all that will show up is the usb cable and itunes picture, so I don't know what to do/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___ /migration-images/migration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/m igration-img-not-avail.png/___sbsstatic___/migration-images/migration-img-not-av ail.pngHi everybody, well update on my phone....IT CRASHED!!!! I happen to be a fortunate sole as my phone was ONLY 21 days old....I took it to nearest dealer after techs could not resolve the issue...it would not go past 'verifying phone software'....I was given a FULL refund, thank goodness....no more IPHONE for me...back to the ole faithful 'razor' phone..one thing a tech tried was other than the obvious, while plugging your cord into port HOLD down the HOME button at same time and it could FORCE the phone into recovery mode...didn't work for me but might for you guys....very pathetic...have an aunt in SLC, Utah...up for an upgrade in November and with this she's OPTED to maintain her current phone and contract with other carrier....I don't think this is very good for Apple or AT&T....for those of you lucky enough to still be up and running, the only thing I can say is make sure you have a backup OFTEN...FYI, my original contacts on my sim card that was transferred from my old phone were STILL THERE....good luck everybody, I'm out of here....

Am facing issue on my iphone 5s after updating to ios 7.1.1, every while the phone hang after lock it and cannot unlock and even cannot turn on the screen this is so annoying, kindly advice if i have to go back to the store as device still under warranty, and if its a hardware issue or software ??
Hello HaithamOkeely,
We've an article that provides the following troubleshooting steps that may help stabilize your iPhone.
If the device is unresponsive or if certain controls aren't working as expected, restart your device.
If the device remains unresponsive or does not turn on (or power on), reset your device.
If there is no video or if the screen remains black, verify that the device has enough charge to turn on:
If you are using an iPad, ensure that it's connected to the USB Power Adapter supplied with the device.
Let it charge for at least twenty minutes, then see if it starts normally.
If there is no image on the screen, press the Sleep/Wake button to attempt to wake the device.
If the screen displays a red battery icon, continue charging the device until the battery is fully charged. Learn more about charging iPhone and iPod touch, or iPad.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, or the if the screen remains black or shows a persistent Apple logo, try restoring with iTunes:
Connect the device to your computer and open iTunes.
If the device appears in iTunes, select and click Restore on the Summary pane. Learn more aboutrestoring iOS software.
If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try to force the device into recovery mode, and then restore it.
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Apple.

My Iphone 4s shut down by itself after a phone call and I cannot turn it on. I took it to istore and they said it was unrespinsive and there is nothing they can do? Anyone has a clue what can be done? When I connect the phone to itunes it indicates that the phone should be restored, however when i try to restore it, it says the "software for this iphone is not currently available" Is there anything I can do other than put this brand new iphone in the grabage?
On computer, at the top of this page is a Tab for iTunes, click it, make sure iTunes is up to date. Also make sure computer Fire Wall and Anti Virus do not interfere with iTunes, turn them OFF to be certain.

In rare cases, these errors may be a hardware issue.
If the errors persist on another computer, the device may need service. -
IPhone 4S can not hear music cannot turn down volume
IPhone 4S cannot hear music playing cannot turn down volume or in control center... PLEASE HELP!!
I asked that question in regards to your comment about a red zone in volume. I do not have that on my phone.
You state that you have already done a restore, so the only other step in troubleshooting is to make an appointment at the Genius Bar to have the device checked by Apple. -
i was updating my iPhone and it is stuck. It won't complete the update and I cannot turn the phone off or use it at all. How can i get it unstuck?
i'm wondering if i can use my macbook pro to override the update that is incomplete. What does this have to do with Classic operating systems? They won't run on a Macbook anyway.
I've asked this thread be moved here:

If you've tried a hard reset, etc. and you now suspect a failure with the device, you may want to walk it into the nearest Apple Store and ask for assistance there.

Iphone 3gs needs to restore as I cannot turn phone on but cannot restore as unknown error 2001 keeps coming up.
I have tried several times on different computers. Any help or ideas? ThanksHi there Katherine,
I have an article here that addresses this error code and can give you a few more troubleshooting suggestions for this issue:
Resolve specific iTunes update and restore errors
http://support.apple.com/kb/ts3694
Check USB connections
If there’s an issue with the USB port, cable, dock, or hub, or if the device becomes disconnected during restore, try troubleshooting the USB connection, then troubleshooting your security software.
Common errors: 13, 14, 1600-1629, 1643-1650, 2000-2009, 4000, 4005, 4013, 4014, 4016, “invalid response”, and being prompted to restore again after a restore completes.
To narrow down the issue, you can also change up your hardware:
Use another USB cable.
Plug your cable into a different USB port on your computer.
Try a different dock connector (or no dock).
Add (or remove) a USB hub between your device and computer.
Connect your computer directly to your Internet source, with no routers, hubs, or switches.
If you see your error after changing your USB connections, continue to the next section to troubleshoot your hardware.
Thanks for coming to the Apple Support Communities!
