Hi,
I am not able to turn off the shutter sound on my iPhone 5s.
Even if i turn on the mute switch and/or turn ringer/alert sounds completely off.
It seems to be Japan model (ME335J/A).
Please help.

If you have a phone intended for sale in Japan, it's operating correctly. The mute switch does not disable the shutter sound. All phones in Japan, to the best of my knowledge, are hard coded to prevent the sound from being disabled for privacy reasons.

There's no option for this sound toggle in the US under "Sounds" on either the iPad or the iPhone. To disable the shutter sound, you need to mute the device. If yours does not mute even with the mute toggle, it's likely permanently enabled in your particular locale as King_Penguin mentioned.

to see other sufferers - if you had a greek keyboard then you need to set it to english/french etc
to do that you need to unlock your ipad

On the N80 you can by putting it on silent turn off the camera sound wich i found very annoying! That is sooo nokia, there is no option for turning of the camera sound, only an option for choosing between 4 different sounds, however you can easy disable the sound by putting the phones profile to silent, haha rediculus!

My phone is my camera and pictures are very important to me. My boyfriend convinced me to try a Blackberry when I switched over to Sprint from Verizon. I love the phone, but this shutter delay kills me. Seriously, I die a little inside every time I try to take a picture. I'm perfectly capable of keeping my hand steady. The option to turn off the shutter delay does not exist in my phone. Is there an app or a download I can find to turn off the delay all together and keep my flash? the delay is not due to the shutter. It is due to the autofocus. The tip given by Xaviers67 is to prepare the device, activate the autofocus first, and when you're ready to take the shot, clic as fast as lightning.
I suggest you to simply deactivate the Autofocus feature in the camera options.

No. I would never take an iPhone to anyone other than Apple unless there was no alternative. You can get the display replaced on an iPhone 5 at most Apple stores for $149. If there's more damage, it will cost $229 for a full replacement. Both prices assuming you don't have AppleCare+.
As I said, taking it elsewhere forfeits your ability to ever get it serviced by Apple. Apple does not sell iPhone parts. There are no legitimate sources for iPhone parts. All the parts you will find are either salvaged from damaged phones or counterfeit.
If the phone is at all functional, you may be able to plug it into a computer and extract the photos and videos from the camera roll.

Turn on silent mode, simple toggle the switch on the side of the phone. If you see the orange dot your in it. Then you wont here the sounds, but remember to flip it back so you'll hear ringtones if you want to.;)

Try a reset, hold the power button and home button until you see the apple then let go. Also, it is iOS 8.2 that you are trying to install since that is the current version. I had no problems updating my mini today so hopefully yours will go well too.
