I cannot upload an attachment to an email in firefox 3.6, firefox crashes immediately

Mac OS 10.4.1
I was originally using Firefox 3.0 with no problems.
I wanted to try the Adblocker, so I updated to 3.6 as directed. Loaded Adblocker. Firefox then requested I upgrade Adobe Flash, which I did. Both browsers immediately shut down if I try to attach a file to an email. I have tried reinstalling 3.0, reinstalling 3.6, reinstalling Adobe Flash... I removed Adblocker (I think)...
There is no crash signature, Firefox closes completely leaving a clean screen.

IT had nothing to do with Firefox. The problem is all Yahoo:
BrowserPlus is a Yahoo addition to facilitate attachment placement in Yahoo Mail. As you've discovered, it is not compatible with Safari 5/64 bit. If you want to return to 64 bit, then uninstall BrowserPlus via System Preferences in the Apple Menu. After you click on BrowserPlus, at the far right you'll find the uninstall option.

As soon as I disabled Browser Plus, attachments worked immediately...

To diagnose problems with Thunderbird, try one of the following:
*Restart Thunderbird with add-ons disabled (Thunderbird Safe Mode). On the Help menu, click on "Restart with Add-ons Disabled". If Thunderbird works like normal, there is an Add-on or Theme interfering with normal operations. You will need to re-enable add-ons one at a time until you locate the offender.
*Restart the operating system in '''[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Safe_mode safe mode with Networking]'''. This loads only the very basics needed to start your computer while enabling an Internet connection. Click on your operating system for instructions on how to start in safe mode: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/windows-startup-settings-including-safe-mode Windows 8], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-7 Windows 7], [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/start-computer-safe-mode#start-computer-safe-mode=windows-vista Windows Vista], [http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/boot_failsafe.mspx?mfr=true" Windows XP], [http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1564 OSX]
; If safe mode for the operating system fixes the issue, there's other software in your computer that's causing problems. Possibilities include but not limited to: AV scanning, virus/malware, background downloads such as program updates.

• I I cannot sign out of my comcast email in Firefox but I can do so in IE.

My husband and I each have our own email account on Comcast email. We almost always use Firefox to open it. Suddenly, I cannot sign out of my email account on Firefox. I click on sign-out, then click on sign in, but the email automatically goes to my email account. After signing out, and clicking on email, it sometimes says "oh oh, you're not signed in." But when I click on sign in, instead of giving me the sign in box it goes right to my open email account. Just can't get out of it. When I am on IE, I can still sign in and out of both Comcast accounts without a problem.
I use a laptop with Windows 7 or 7XP I believe, not sure which it is. Thanks for your help.

Try to clear the cookies from that Comcast website.
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
If clearing cookies doesn't work then it is possible that the cookies.sqlite file that stores the cookies is corrupted.
Rename (or delete) cookies.sqlite (cookies.sqlite.old) and delete other present cookies files like cookies.sqlite-journal in the Firefox profile folder in case the file cookies.sqlite got corrupted.

• I cannot upload pictures to Facebook in 'Messages' using Firefox, but every other browser will.

I used to be able to, and have only been able to one time since. It started this in about vers. 6 I believe, and has been going on for a few weeks. I've deleted and redownloaded Firefox twice, with the error still occurring.
Thanks,

• Since latest upgrade I have 2 problems 1. fast dial didn't work, but has been fixed with changing the version. This happened before. Now the big problem is when I attempt to upload pics Facebook or attach documents to e-mail firefox crashes. HELP!

tried several suggestions. Nothing works

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems. See Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins"
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile (be careful not to copy corrupted files)

• Cannot update from 3.16 to latest version firefox crashes

I have a Lenovo computer less than one year old running windows 7, 64 bit....I am running 3.6.14 because.... ( drum roll please) I had the 3.16 version and then when firefox 4 came out, I tried it and hated it, so went back ( after searching and finding file for old version) installed and kept it, then my daughter insists for security I update to 15.1 version, so yesterday I tried this, and it began crashing crashing crashing. She told me to take out all previous mozilla files, versions, I did, still crashing, then told me to try to install lower versions, I tried 5, 6, 7, 9, 11, 15 ALL to NO AVAIL! would not open unless in safe mode, even then wouldn't open after the higher version. I do NOT KNOW what else to do!! I am finally back to using the old version 3.6.14 only because I still had it on a flash drive and could find no other doorway into mozilla , I tried reinstalls ( and yes, logged out, turned off computer, back in, each time I uninstalled and reinstalled) spent hours trying to make it happen, apparently I cannot upgrade at all because its not working. I need to know step by step how to get to latest version but without losing all my bookmarks etc, I spent years getting those and my addons.

Unfortunately, I was not able to do it that way, it wouldn't work, but what I finally did was strip all mozilla files out totally and then using a flashdrive with the updated 15.1 version, reloaded and this time, when offered a choice of removing all personal files/bookmarks etc, I said Ok, reluctantly, since I knew I would be wiped out ( except for the bookmarks I had in explorer, which I put on flash drive) and started again, this time, it actually loaded correctly!!! surprised me a lot, but then I had to go to the long drawn out thing of putting all of the bookmarks etc, back on, and now finally I think I am good to go. Thanks so much for your willingness to assist me. I am thinking my daughter will be grateful too, since I am now 'protected' with this updated version. Thanks again :)

The Deskjet series printers connect to wireless networks with what is called USB to Wireless.
You will need a supported operating system to connect a Deskjet to a wireless network. Supported operating systems to connect the printer to a wireless network are Windows 7 (32bit and 64bit), Windows Vista (32bit and 64bit), and Mac OS X (10.5, 10.6, and 10.7).
While there is a software download option for Linux distributions, this is not the full featured software that is capable of adding the printer to a wireless network. Most printers have a wireless setup wizard to accomplish this task, but the Deskjet series printers connect in a different way.
Once the printer is connected to a wireless network, HPLIP 3.12.4 drivers should be able to locate the printer.
Click on Installing the Product Software for a Wireless Network Connection to receive instructions to connect to a wireless network using Windows and Mac operating systems.
Click on Software & Driver Downloads - HP Deskjet 3070A e-All-in-One Printer - B611a to download the appropriate software for a supported operating system to connect to a wireless network.

• Cannot attach files to emails

Over a year ago I could not attach a pciture to an outgoing email when using firefox as my browser and yahoo as my email. Then it started working again and now it is not working again. I type an email and try to attach a file and I cannot. If I sign in thru internet explorer I can attach the file without any problems. Any help would be appreciated on why I cannot attach a file to an emailk with firefox as my browser.

Just installed Pure 2.0 as an upgrade to Kas Internet Security on my ASUS pc laptop. Firefox 18.0.2 has automatically disabled Kas URL Advisor 12.0.1.311, Anti-Banner, and Virtual Keyboard. are these or any other issues w/Pure 2.0 responsible for suddenly corrupting Firefox or my webmail server's ability to attach files to emails just after i had installed Pure? i need your help determining whether that's the cause or simply correlation.
when i try to attach any file to an email message, my email pops up a blank window with the following address: http://md03.quartz.synacor.com/service/upload?fmt=extended
WHAT HASN'T FIXED THE PROBLEM: 1. a tech service call to my isp who thinks Kas Pure is the issue since all isp diagnostics check out ok. 2. disabling Pure didn't allow for attaching files. 3. neither did uninstalling it. 4. neither did re-installing using Kas-supplied recovery disk which then needed massive updates.
WHAT TEMPORARILY WORKED AROUND THE PROBLEM: 1. restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled. THIS mode allowed attachments, but isn't sustainable. 2. IN ADDITION, as i re-enabled add-ons ONE AT A TIME i could successfully send an email attachment AT EACH POINT. once all-ons were back on and i restarted the computer, the problem returned. 3. sending email with attachments from Internet Explorer (i will not return to that browser!). 4. sending email with attachments through the same isp using our iMac.
i will now try the fix mentioned above.

• I cannot upload any of my files to my email or the internet?

Every time I try to attach a file to my email, or upload files to Facebook, my upload window pops up on Safari or Firefox, and it just shows my mail folders, but I cannot open any of them in order to find, select and upload my files. I have a Mac Book Pro, and all my software is up to date. I usually can figure out problems like this but im really stumped at the moment.
If anyone can help that would be great.

Select a broken track and press ctrl-i to Get Info. Look on the summary tab for the location where iTunes "thinks" the file should be. Where is it really? Post back the two locations and I can suggest the best approach.

I recently retired and stopped my subscription toe Adobe Pro. Now I cannot open a pdf attachment in an email with Adobe Reader. How can I solve this issue?

OK. Then the next thing to try is to right-click a PDF file, select Open With, Choose Default Program, then select Reader from the list and tick the "Always use this application..." box, and click OK.

• Acrobat Reader 9 cannot open pdf attachement to email

My os is xp. After installing Reader 9, I cannot open pdf attahement to incoming email. The error message is "the file does not have a program associated with it", even though I have already associated pdf with Reader 9 in Folder Option. If I save the pdf attachement to a different folder I am able to open it.
Maybe I need to rever to Reader 8. If someone cannot solve the error message, maybe can tell me where I can get Reader 8 as it is not in the Adobe free download.

I have no problem opening PDF attachments that arrive in my Outlook 2003 Inbox; they open fine with Adobe Reader 9. It may be an issue with your email client.
But if you think that Adobe Reader 8 will fix it, you can download it from http://download.adobe.com/pub/adobe/reader/win/8.x/8.1.3/enu/AdbeRdr813_en_US.exe - make sure that you uninstall Reader 9 first (and Acrobat.com & Adobe AIR).
