I cannot use Computer option for Back Up

When I try to change my back up option from iCloud to Computer, I press Apply and it goes back to iCloud immediately. So it is not saving my change.
Any idea's?

No, I didn't do that. But I have now. Thanks.

    I did not choose "use icloud" option for storing during my initial setup.  How can I reset icloud account, so it can be used for storing.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
    If you are planning on using iCloud to store files, forget about iCloud and use a cloud storage service like SkyDrive or Dropbox. iCloud is focused on information sync between the iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac and PC instead of storing files like MobileMe. It's not worth using iCloud for this.
    If you still want to set up iCloud, open Settings > iCloud, log in with your Apple ID and follow its steps

    Similar issues have been filed against netbeans and mostly they seem to happen when the keybindings have been modified:
    - http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=68151
    This is a bug in new Options dialog. To make it work, just delete the wrongly
    defined shortcuts in xmls in ~/.netbeans/dev/config.
    - http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=67351
    btw, can you run creator with a different userdir (by renaming the existing userdir) and see if the problem still persists? If it does not, then it would mean there is some keybinding setting in the current user directory that is causing this problem.

    I use i-tunes for backing tracks. How can I set up a play list to play only one song at a time and not go to the next one until I manually select it?
    Thanks

    Uncheck all the songs in the playlist. iTunes will then play one song and stop.

    All works fine in WLS6.1, with this extra code:
    System.setProperty("javax.xml.transform.TransformerFactory",
    "weblogic.apache.xalan.processor.TransformerFactoryImpl");
    (or you could use -D)
    No longer concerned; we've moved off WLS6.0

    Interestingly, expanding the code to (the very verbose):
    Document sourceDocument = event.getDocument();
    XSLTProcessor processor = XSLTProcessorFactory.getProcessor();
    StringWriter source = new StringWriter();
    XMLSerializer sourceSerializer = new XMLSerializer(source, new OutputFormat(sourceDocument));
    sourceSerializer.asDOMSerializer();
    sourceSerializer.serialize(sourceDocument.getDocumentElement());
    StringWriter output = new StringWriter();
    processor.process(new XSLTInputSource(source.toString()),
    new XSLTInputSource(new FileReader(GDS_XSLT_STYLESHEET)),
    new XSLTResultTarget(output));
    (i.e. document -> string -> transform -> string)
    works just fine, but this code is far too long-winded for me to be happy
    with.
    (Note that one of XSLTInputSource's ctors does take a Node, so I'm assuming
    that
    it should be perfectly safe to pass a Document here)
    (Note also, that for various reasons at the moment, using JAXP's transformer
    factory
    is difficult for us)

  • Can i use time capsule for back up my movies and watching them with my bravia tv

    can i use time capsule for back up my movies and watching them with my bravia tv.
    i mean can i use this for external hard disk drive to back up my movies and watching them with tv that has a lan port or wi-fi technology.

    Only if the TV is a media player.. the TC is dumb as a board router with a hard disk.. there is no DLNA which I suspect the TV requires.. you can get a player like the WDLive and it will play movie files from the TC to the TV.. remember the TC is nothing but a file store.. no servers .. no nothing.

  • I can't remember the password I used when I did a "backup to computer". Does this mean that my only option for backing up my iphone from now on is using the cloud? #I've tried any PW i can recall ever using, I must have gotten creative darn it.#

    I did a backup decided to do a full backup with a password. I forgot the password I used (it was a couple of months ago and I must have gotten creative with it.) Without that password the option to back up to my computer is dead, right? My only option for backup will be the cloud. I want to be sure I understand the mess I am in.    I have tried the passwords I have used before, I cannot believe I did this

  • Best option for backing up iPad via iTunes .?

    I need to know best option of backing up iPad via iTunes .
    I am given an option there , but dont know the best one to use.
    Thank you.

    I've always done mine the other way and three years later, no issues.
    I'm not worried about the passwords so the encryption wasn't an issue for me.
    Encrypted or not, my personal opinion is that backing up via iTunes is a better way to backup than trusting the cloud.
    You know, if you're not sure, you can always do it both ways. I've never tried it so i'm not sure if one backup erases the other or if they have different names and can co-exist. That said, every time I've done a backup, I just look in my recycle bin and find the old backup there (iTunes throws it away), so I can go into the recycle bin and move the file elsewhere and preserve it.

  • DHCP - Cannot add text option for VOIP phones in OES Linux

    While working through this, I solved the issue, but decided to post this anyway as it may help others to find these sorts of errors.
    I'm working on migrating from NetWare 6.5sp8 to OES11sp2. Client has Shoretel VOIP phones. Existing NetWare-based DHCP has no problem. Option 156 has been configured to give out the required text information that Shoretel phones require.
    Problem is that I could not get the OES11 DHCP to run with that option. Nor could I migrate the existing option over - the Migration Tool (in OES11) says it successfully migrates DHCP, but I cannot start the dhcpd daemon. Error is that it failed, and in the rc.dhcpd.log file I see an error:
    LDAP Line 26: unknown option dhcp.Shoretel_Boot.
    LDAP Line 26: unexpected end of file
    LDAP: cannot parse dhcpService entry 'cn=newdhcpservice,o=LIBRARY'
    Configuration file errors encountered -- exiting
    If I look in the file (created when LDAP reads DHCP config from eDirectory apparently) dhcp-ldap-startup.log I can see the problem entry at line 26:
    option Shoretel_Boot "FTPSERVERS=172.30.43.8,COUNTRY=1,LANGUAGE=1,L AYER default-lease-time 259200 ;
    This option does NOT show up in the newdhcpservice option when I look at it in ConsoleOne, or DSBROWSE, or DNS/DHCP Management Console.
    This option DOES show up in the DNS/DHCPManagement Console if I look at the DHCP (NetWare) tab and look at Other DHCP Options for some of the configured subnets, but it actually has different text from the above, specifically:
    FTPSERVERS=172.30.43.8,COUNTRY=1,LANGUAGE=1,LAYER2 TAGGING=1,VLANID=9
    Note that it does not have a " character anywhere in the entry. This option is configured as a Global DHCP text option.
    Novell TID 7009464 mentions the issue, though not for Option 156. In that TID there is this:
    "Situation #2
    Migrate a working DHCP server with DHCP options that are of type "Text" to an OES server.
    Load the DHCP server service... it fails to load and gives similar errors to the ones listed above."
    Under resolution the TID says to delete and recreate the dhcp service object without the text option and it will load. That doesn't work for me as I still get an LDAP error pointing to the Shoretel_Boot unknown option. (I dare not try deleting it from the NetWare DHCP config and risk breaking the client's phone system).
    One of the options in the TID to fix this is to re-enter the data using the DNS/DHCP Management Console - but that didn't work.
    Here is the answer:
    First, the log files are misleading. The error message points to not being able to read the newdhcpservice object entry - but the problem was elsewhere. In fact the problem showed up in the logs even when there were no option 156 entries at all in any object inside the newdhcpservice or the newdhcpservice object itself. The problem existed in the NetWare configuration of the object for one of the dhcp subnets.
    Specifically, there was an illegal character in the text entry for option 156 - the # character was in there, like this:
    FTPSERVERS=172.30.43.8,COUNTRY=1,LANGUAGE=1,LAYER# 2TAGGING=1,VLANID=9
    If you look at the error log entry for syntax error you can see that the option 156 text stopped at the # symbol, and then default-lease-time was appended to the end.
    Removing the # symbol got things working.

  • External Hard Drive Options for Back Up - USB 2.0 or FireWire

    Needing some advice on this one. Looking to purchase an external hard drive for back up through Time Machine - also running Win XP via Parallels. Should I go USB 2.0 or FireWire or have both options? Is there any difference in speed? I will be also using the external hard drive as needed for other manual back ups and data transfers eg movie projects. (and yes the Macbook has Firewire).
    Would appreciate some comment / recommendations.

    Hey Pluke and welcome to the forum -
    Firewire is faster overall for data transfers especially large or lengthy ones. With this in mind, I would use an external enclosure that has both Firewire and USB.
    I'm not sure if this was part of your question or not but I would not include your virtual machine (xp) in your Time Machine backup. The reason is it will fill up your backup drive quickly because your TM backup copies hourly every file that has changes made to it. Your VM file is both large (the size of the virtual drive) and has changes even if you just have it open and not really using it. You should include your VM file in your manual backup instead.

  • I cannot use multiple tabs for Hotties For Sale. I was able to do this until yesterday but now the same tab is duplicated each time. How can I fix this?

    I play an app called Hotties for Sale. Until yesterday I was able to operate several accounts on the game simultaneously by using separate tabs for each account. Now I can only open one account at a time with a single tab. When I open a second tab I just get a duplicate of the previous one. How can I fix this please?

    Final Cut is a separate, higher end video editor.  The pro version of iMovie.
    Give iPhoto a look at for creating the slideshow.  It's easy to assemble the photos in an album in iPhoto, put them in the order you want and then make a slideshow of them.  You can select from various themes and transitions between slides and add music from your iTunes library.
    When you have the slidshow as you want use the Export button at the bottom of the iPhoto window and export with Size = Medium or Large.
    Save the resulting Quicktime movie file in your Movies folder.
    Next, open iDVD, choose your theme and drag the QT movie file into the menu window being careful to avoid any drop zones.
    Then follow this workflow to help assure the best qualty video DVD:
    Once you have the project as you want it save it as a disk image via the File ➙ Save as Disk Image  menu option. This will separate the encoding process from the burn process.
    To check the encoding mount the disk image, launch DVD Player and play it.  If it plays OK with DVD Player the encoding is good.
    Then burn to disk with Disk Utility or Toast at the slowest speed available (2x-4x) to assure the best burn quality.  Always use top quality media:  Verbatim, Maxell or Taiyo Yuden DVD-R are the most recommended in these forums.
    The reason I suggest iPhoto is that I find it much easier to use than iMovie (except for the older iMovie 6 HD version).  Personal preferences showing here.

    TimeMachine works better if it's nearly always connected.
