Restore in iTunes, first using a backup and if needed restore as a new phone, without using a backup. If restoring as new doesn't help, there is a hardware failure that needs evaluation by Apple or whoever provides iPhone service in your country.

You don't need to activate the phone service to use the iPhone.

Error trying to Update iPhone, now I cannot use my iPhone!!!!!!!!

I plugged my iphone into my computer, clicked "Check for Updates" and it downloaded the software and installed it.. and then while it was "Verifying Software Update" it gets an error saying "The iphone "iPhone" could not be updated. An unknown error occured. (6)"
Then a picture of itunes and a usb cable shows up on my iphone screen.
So I unlug it and plug it back in, and itunes then says "Itunes has detected an iphone in recovery mode. You must restore this iphone before it can be used with itunes."
So, I click OK and thn Restore. Then it says "Are you sure you want to restore your iphone "iphone" to it's factory settings? All of your media and other data will be erased, and the newest version of the iphone software will be installed." So I click "Restore and Update" (because if I click cancel, I still can't do anything but click restore, and it gives the same message everytime.)
So, once I click Restore and Update, it then starts that process. Then I get another error in the middle of it "Verifying Software" saying "The iphone "iphone" could not be restored. An unknown error occured. (6)" I then click OK. Itunes again no longer finds my device and my iphone screen shows ituness and a usb cable.
NOW I CANNOT TURN MY IPHONE ON, BECAUSE WHEN I DO ALL I SEE IS THE ITUNES PICTURE AND A USB CABLE. Hi everybody, well update on my phone....IT CRASHED!!!! I happen to be a fortunate sole as my phone was ONLY 21 days old....I took it to nearest dealer after techs could not resolve the issue...it would not go past 'verifying phone software'....I was given a FULL refund, thank goodness....no more IPHONE for me...back to the ole faithful 'razor' phone..one thing a tech tried was other than the obvious, while plugging your cord into port HOLD down the HOME button at same time and it could FORCE the phone into recovery mode...didn't work for me but might for you guys....very pathetic...have an aunt in SLC, Utah...up for an upgrade in November and with this she's OPTED to maintain her current phone and contract with other carrier....I don't think this is very good for Apple or AT&T....for those of you lucky enough to still be up and running, the only thing I can say is make sure you have a backup OFTEN...FYI, my original contacts on my sim card that was transferred from my old phone were STILL THERE....good luck everybody, I'm out of here....

I bought an Iphone from canada and it was broken, after that I replace it from apple store in USA. unfortunately, the replaced Iphone was locked to US company which I cannot use it now with other telecom company. however the broken Iphone was open.

I would take it back to we're u got it and explain it to them. If they replaced it they should of had to replace it for the exact same phone on the same settings

Ringing occurs at the carrier. Chances are you're going to voicemail after only two or three rings. If you have an iCloud backup also a good move. Re-read my question in the first paragraph.

Explain to me why I cannot use my iPhone & iPads Bluetooth with other phones & MacBooks

So basically I want apple to explain to me in their logic why they have such a limitation with the Bluetooth on these devices. Earlier today, my partner connected her Nokia n8 to her MacBook Pro, it paired nicely with no errors or issues. So I decided to connect my iPhone to her MacBook Pro and then to my surprise it said that this device was to supported. I laughed at the fact that a Nokia N8 could connect to a MacBook Pro but a iPhone couldn't. Anyway, this is a Issue but the biggest issue that I find in which doesn't make sense is the fact that I can't connect my iPhone to any other phone via Bluetooth. This limitation in my mind is pointless.
Why can almost every other phone on the market communicate to any other phone on the market via Bluetooth but my iPhone can't? To be honest I have always been an android fan, due to open source reasons only. I have always liked the simplicity of the iPhone but the 3.5" screen always made me turn away from them. The latest instalment from apple with the iPhone 5 was appealing. Quick dual core CPU, beefy GPU, 1GB of RAM, great wireless technology, beautiful camera, nice & comfortable 4" screen. There is no denying it, it's a great device. So I took it up And got one, and to be honest I wasn't disappointed. But this Bluetooth limitation is ridiculous.
Please release a firmware update to remove this limitation. I am sure I am not the only one out there that finds this a inconvenience.

You're not talking to Apple here, this is a user-to-user forum. You can send some feedback to Apple on this subject but my guess is that it won't change anything.
I believe that Apple have decided that the Bluetooth feature is there to support bluetooth headphones (so you can listen to your music wirelessly) and some peer-to-peer gaming, but that's it. The lack of bluetooth for sending your music to another device prevents copyright infringement, so perhaps that's why it's like that.
As for your point about bluetooth between your iPhone and your Mac, why would you need it? Syncing between iTunes, either by USB or Wi-Fi does what's required, so there is no need for bluetoothing files between them.
Although we're not supposed to speculate about Apple decisions here, it's pretty clear to me that copyright infringement was high on the list of reasons why that particular version of bluetooth has been used.

I just changed my password on my G-mail account. As such, I changed the password on my iPhone for use of G-mail. However, when I tried to send an e-mail, it did not go through and said "Unable to Send E-mail" A copy is placed in your Cutbox???
Also, what is VIP list for and why I have my client's e-mail listed under???

The VIP list is where google add those emails from people you email the most, it's a pain as I've missed emails because they've been in that folder.
Can you send using the new password on other devices? You could try deleting the account on the phone & set it up again.

in fact , i bought The phone at dixon travel ( shop who are selling phone inside terminal 5 London Heathrow). The phone is apparently sim free Unllocked.
after Check imei on internet i have dicovered that my iPhone 4s is locked.
The Carrier is carphone warehouse from uk.
If you read The comment on The carphone warehouse internet pages, for sim free iPhone 4s it is mentioned that foreign sim cards Will not Work (See below The link)
it means That Apple have approof to lock iphones from country where you have bought your phone only. This is why My french sim are not reconized with this iphones locked for uk Network only.

iPhone will lock itself to the network of the first SIM card that is used in the phone. Subsequently attempting to use it on any other network, for example by replacing the SIM card, may mean it becomes permanently unusable. hey i m havin an iphone 3gs 32GB which i tried updating to iOs 6 and i was able to update my device but then its saying failed to activate your iphone install sim and all dat i have a sim installed n ive tried both the methods of activation i.e through wifi and by itunes didn help so i tried DFU thing and restartd the whole procedure ...i have 3 iphones 3gs 4 and 4s i was successful in updating 4 and 4s it was fluid but this is not working in my 3gs it says contact apple support

My wife is having the exact same issue after updating to the new iOS 8.1.1 and we've tried all the same steps even restoring the phone as a new phone. We've contacted our service provider and they've told us to go to apple to potentially "remove" her serial number from their servers to allow it to work properly on the service we have.
