Caseycork92 you double click the DMG to mount the disk image.  You will also need to enter your serial number for Creative Suite 6 for Macintosh.  You can find information on how to locate your serial number under your account at Find your serial number quickly - http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/global/find-serial-number.html.

  • Trouble installing Creative Suite 6 Design Standard

Ok, so I am trying to install Creative suite 6 Design Standard for Windows. I have downloaded the two files that were provided, and one of the files leads to nothing because my computer doesn't know how to open it, and the other file tells me that I don't have all of the files necessary to do the installation. Please help, I have successfully installed other downloaded cs6 programs but for some reason this one isn't working. -Nicole

  • Using the Macbook Air for intensive purposes?

    Hi all,
I purchased my Macbook Air a year and half ago (2012 model). Purchased it because it was Macbook Air or the Macbook Pro and I saw it would be better to develop on an Air because it had an ssd and I haven't used an Optical Drive in ages. Ever since then I had 2 Failures in components. One was SSD, which I hardly used just because I was using Ubuntu at the time on an External Hard Drive. Second, was the Logic Board and I/O board which started to eject my externals randomly. I make sure my computer runs no more than 80C by turning off cores and disabling Turbo Boost while gaming (Everything on Lowest playable setting) or compiling and such.
Anyways, I am asking if any one casually plays intensive games and/or any CPU/GPU intesive tasks and had no problems what so ever and never needed a repair from the Apple Store.
Why am I asking this? I am asking this because I kind of see Apple Notebooks falling in the wrong direction in notebooks. Don't get me wrong, I like their products and their form factors, but it seems to me that they do no account for all scenarios of using a computer. For Instance, I held in my hand the Heatsink they used on my Air and its not bigger than my hand. I don't want to be judgy, but it seems way too insufficient to cool a cpu of 17TDP no matter how fast fan is pushing the air out of the computer. It is just absurd.
The best thermal set up I have ever seen Apple produce was the Macbook Pro Retina 13". It had two seperate fans that cooled ONE CPU. Not sure what kind of direction they are going for, but I think most of all problems that keep me returning to the Apple store for repairs is the continous spread of intense heat around the computer. This also goes for the Currents Macbook Pros which Now only Have one fan cooling everything. I seriously could care less about weight, they could add half a pound to the computer to add an extra fan to computer if it means I dont have to return to the Apple Store every five minutes. At this point I think the best way to keep my Air returning to the Apple Store is to just check emails or watch youtube at this point, which I could do on a $300 netbook.
I would like to see what your guy's opinion about this matter? Is doing anything intensive OK doing on a Mac Notebook?

My primary machine is still a late-2008 unibody 15" MBP (2.53Ghz Core 2 Duo) bought in early 2009.  I cannot say I ever do much that is GPU intensive and usually do not use the discrete GPU most of the time.  But, I have done work on it that is very CPU intensive - computations that have max'd out the CPU load for as long as 12-24hrs at a time (overnight analysis runs), and which have ramped up the fans to or near maximum rpm and cpu temperatures steady in the 90's degree centigrade for hours.  This machine is now 5 years old and runs fine and has never required any service from Apple.  I upgraded it to 8GB RAM a couple of years ago, and I replaced the original battery but that is all that has been done to it.
I use a desk-top stand (from a maker who's name escapes me now? its old, bought back before this particular MBP) that keeps it raised about 0.5" at the front and maybe 1.25-1.5" at the rear so it has good air flow all the time.
However, games that are both very taxing on the CPU and the GPU at the same time will certainly put a higher thermal load then I've experienced, and my MBP has dual fans.

  • I can't install Creative Suite 4 Design Standard

I get a failure when trying to install.  Here's the error
    [    5792] Mon Sep 07 18:52:00 2009 ERROR
    MsiConfigureProductEx failed with error: 1603
    (And yes I've tried http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/408/kb408716.html)
    Any help please?
    Thanks,
    Mike

Good luck, I have tried every method the Adobe tech support recommends; I have also tried every suggestion I have found online to no avail. I have a CS4 installation that does not include Dreamweaver, Acrobat and Illustrator, three of the apps I use the most. I have spent weeks trying to install on a Vista Business laptop and am mad and frustrated. Microsoft problem or Adobe, I don't care. Till Adobe support addresses this issue they get a big thumbs down from me. Think twice about purchasing CS4!

  • Can I use the MacBook Air Superdrive as an external CD reader?

Simply put my MBP's optical drive is shot and I don't have the £200 odd that is needed to repair it. So for now I've considered an external option and was told that I could use the MBA superdrive. However on plugging in, nothing happened, attempted to put in the disc and it was like there was no power in it.
Does anyone know whether it can be used as an external option or is the MBP finicky and will only read one drive at a time?

No, the Air Superdrive will not work for you. Sigh, i could have saved you the trouble of wasting money.
What you need, and what would work better is a Lacie Portable Firewire DVD+/-RW drive, which only costs £99 (including VAT or £85.02 ex. VAT, i assume you are in the U.K), and plus it also comes bundled with Toast 8 Titanium.
Go here and check it out http://www.lacie.com/uk/products/product.htm?pid=10985 .

  • Can I use the macbook air superdrive with my non server mac mini?

I recently removed the optical super drive from my early 2009 mac mini to switch to a 2 HD setup.  I have an opportunity to get a macbook air superdrive (external) for a really good deal, but I am unsure whether or not it will work.  The specs say that it will work with a min that has no optical drive, but does it matter if I removed the drive myself instead of buying the server version of the mini?

Ahhh, you did not say that you don't have one yet. Perhaps you should csll an Apple vendor in your area and ask. Although it is supposed to work with a Mini, I don't know about a Mini from 2009 since the optical drive was not released until the 2010 MBA came out, I believe.

  • Can you load Creative Suite software from your iMac to macbook air

Tried loading my Creative Suite software to my MacBook Air and says issue with serial numbers.  1 user, 2 computers...can you do that?

You should not be trying to transfer from one machine to another if that is what you are doing (your posting title makes it sound that way).  Use installation files and make sure the serial numbers agree with what your Adobe account lists for it.
A single user license allows you to have two activated installations.  As long as the two machines meet the system requirements for the software you should be able to install and activate on both.

  • Adobe Creative Suite 6 Design Standard Installation on macbook

New installation of design cs6 on macbook air.   Illustrator will not launch.  Photoshop errors too - cannot save preferences, even though I am logged in as administrator.
I used the adobe cleanup software, reinstalled, nothing changed.

We need to know the exact errors and operating system. And a Macbook Air doesn't meet the minimum requirements for several apps (screen size in particular), so as amtter of fact it may never work.

  • Can I download and install Creative Suite 6 Design Standard from the Adobe site?

I purchased cs6 standard when I bought my laptop so I have the hard copy of the program. However, my laptop does not have a disc drive so I was looking to download the file online then enter my product code and serial number. Am I missing something or is there no way to download and install online?  Sorry if this is a redundant post, I couldnt find one that addressed my problem.
In short, can I download and install CS6 Standard from the Adobe site (not the trial version)? If yes, can someone post a link to direct me to it?

Simply download the trial and activate it with the serial. Or you could copy the files to an USB stick on another computer. There is no super-secret extra download.

  • Looking to purchase creative cloud as a student. What will happen to the Creative Suite 6 Design Standard that i already have installed?

Hi, purchased 'Creative suite 6 Design Standard' with my macbook. Now looking to get After Effects but it is cheaper to buy the whole Creative Cloud in a bundle buying as a student than it is to buy After Effects on its own.
Will I encounter any problems with having two versions of illustrator, photoshop and indesign?
    Thanks

    Hi desousa403,
Yes you can use both CS6 and CC.
