I cannot use wifi

I cannot use the Wifi for my MacBook Air and the error image is as follows:
This computer was unable to join the Wi-Fi Network you selected. You may have entered an incorrect password or network name, chosen the wrong type of wireless security, or you may be out of range of the station. To change your previous choices click start over.
Actually, my network is fine because I can run my HP laptop for no problem. Please advise me going forward!
Thanks

If you're using WEP encryption, it should be changed to WPA2.  Here are other considerations:

  • Iphone6 plus automatically turn off (frequently)and cannot use WIFI

Just bought Iphone6 Plus 16GB Gold on 15 Dec 2014 from The Australian official Apple website.
In this week, my phone turn it off automatically (very frequent, it seems like if i not use my phone, it will shut down)
and cannot normally turn on the phone, i can only turn it on through HOME BUTTON + TURN ON/OFF BUTTON.
And after i turn on the phone, the WIFI button become GREY COLOR, which means i cannot use WIFI, cannot turn on/off.
And i try to restore setting from the phone and also from iTunes through computer, it doesn't help.
Does anybody know what happen to my phone?

  • E6-00 and Belle update : Cannot use Wifi and LEAP ...

Upgraded the E6-00 yesterday. First issues arise and even after a full reset, it still does not work.
    - Wifi connection using LEAP authentication
Network is found, popup to enter username and password, all is good. Except the phone keep trying to connect while I type the password and each time, it re-ask the username. In short I cannot use connect at all as I don't have time to enter both username and password before it loop.... No more wifi connection possible as it use this LEAP authentication. Any way to increase the connection retry timeout ?
    - IMAP folder not found
Same config as under Anna, but under Belle, it does not find any folder for IMAP account (and yes, the mail root folder is right), refreshing the folder list, just do nothing.
    - MAPS
Say that it's empty and need maps. Give few options:
       * use OVI on the PC : OVI doesn't find MAP on the phone
       * use wifi to download map : .... if wifi would work, why not
Anybody else got the same issue ? Or found solution ?

Ok try to delete your apn, reset the device and resintall the OS. Don't restore any backup ans configure the WLAN apn: settings> connectivity> settings>destinations. Into the WLAN settings go to WI-fi security settings> in the fifrst field select EAP> in the second field EAP plugin settings > select EAP-LEAP.
This way the apn will work again

Same config as under Anna, but under Belle, it does not find any folder for IMAP account (and yes, the mail root folder is right), refreshing the folder list, just do nothing.
Please delete your mailboxes and configure them as you want. To create a IMAP access mailbox , for example Nokia Mail (outside of Messaging server) select Other. Put you credentials and choose Standard. You will see into Settings> your mailbox > sync content > Folder subscriptions> choose which folder to sync and it's done

Please delete on mass memory the folder Cities and the file Qf, then open Maps and close the application. Verify that the folder Cities and the file Qf are again in E. Connect your device to Nokia Suite and redownload the cartography.

  • HT4623 Cannot use wifi service (sometimes cannot turn on)

After updating to iOS 6, the wifi service cannot be used sometimes. I either need to reboot the iPhone or reset the network setting to default, any other suggestions to fix this problem? Thanks

Try Settings App > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings. See if better. If still problem, Restore iPhone with iTunes on your computer. See if better. If still problem, and if there is Warranty or AppleCare make Genius reservation or set up Service and take or send iPhone to Apple for resolution.

  • Cannot use wifes email account to enter apple account

I just bought my wife an Ipad Mini. Trying to set it up. I do not know if she has a an account with Apple. When I try to enter her email address with her name I get this: "This email address is not available for use as an Apple ID. You may already have an Apple ID associated with this address. Please try again or sign in using your existing Apple ID". When I try to recover password I get, email sent. but it not coming to her address, because I think I screwed  up when the email was sent to her address using Mozilla a POP up showed at right lower of screen saying something like accredited sites do not this or something to that effect. I refused without reading full message. Now when Apple sends confirmation of reset, I do not get anything.
Sure could use some help with this problem.
    Thanks in advance

  • Cannot use wifi after updating to 6.1.2 on my iPhone 4S WIFI solutions proposed by Apple are not working

    Dear Apple.
I was really happy with my iphone4s, IOS 6.0, great product amazing quality and posibilities BUT.......
I updated from IOS 6.0 to 6.1.1. and the WIFI nightmare started.
I waited for a new update to fix the WIFI problems and I updated my iphone 4s from 6.1.1. to 6.1.2. in order to solve these problems related with WIFI connections.
But IOS 6.1.2. is even worst:
    - WIFI is not working at all. So I cannot download apps greater than 50MB.
    - Battery life is shorter than ever.
    - 3G goes in and out every minute.
    - When you operate the iphone4s you can realize that is hotter than before.
These problems are unnaceptable and inconsistent with a high quality standard product.
You can read a lot of blogs, I am not the only one.
Please give us a solution as soon as possible.
    Best Regards

  • Curve 8520 cannot use WIFI

I was able to connect with the WIFI before I put my simcard in. I was able to connect to the WIFI after I put my simcard in. I have a AldiTalk simcard and I have internet allowance but not for browsing. That is fine.
One day the Blackberry wouldn't use the WIFI here anymore. It says it's connected but has a white line '-' instead of a green tick. I have researched a lot online and not found a solution.
In Advanced Options, my 'Host Routing Tables' is empty. No matter how many times I click 'Register now' nothing ever happens.
I thought it might just be a problem with the WIFI here, so I tried it at a friends at the weekend and exactly the same problem.
I would be forever greatful if somebody could help me out, I am at my wits end! Thank you!

The white line (rather than a green check mark) indicates you ARE indeed connected to the 'internet' but without any BlackBerry services enabled.
You should still be able to use the browser in "hotspot" mode only, nothing else.
From the home screen select Options > Advanced Options > Browser.
Under Default Browser Configuration choose Wi-Fi/Hotspot Browser.
Press the Menu key and select Save.

  • Cannot use Wifi

I just bought my touch today and I brought it home, everything works fine except for the Wifi. I have a Linksys WRT54GS and when I browse for networks, my network will show up, I can connect, but as soon as I try to open Safari it says "Unable to Find Server". I took it to a Starbucks and it works fine there, just not at home. Any ideas or suggestions?

    Hi,
Looks like many people are having the same wifi issue with their personal accounts. I don't know how to cross post, but I was experiencing the exact same issue as you. Some combination of the suggestion offered to me yesterday worked. I have MAC filtering disabled, WPA encryption - but I first disable encryption and started adding security back in.

  • HT204409 my iphone 3gs cannot use wifi passwords that have capital letters

I have tried many times at 2 different locations to try and connect my iphone 3gs. Yes it is old, but I have comcast and it will connect to "xfinitywifi" cause the password is all lower case, but will not accept any password that has capital letters. I shouldn't have to change my password to accommodate this phone. Very frustated. Bout to go get an Android, if this doesnt get fixed.

There is no problem using a password with uppercase letters in iOS.

  • Cannot use wifi with my kindle touch

How can I connect my Kindle touch with my airport extreme?  Although I am entering my correct password, it does not accept it.

Kindle works just fine on my AirPort Extreme.
You do not have an apostrophe or other type of thing like this in the name of your wireless network, do you?
Is the name of your wireless network a single word or phrase comprised of letters and/or numbers with no spaces?

  • [SOLVED] Trouble using WiFi

I haven't had problems with this before, but then again, I don't use WiFi a whole lot.
ArchLinux simply cannot use WiFi, even if it's connected. I'm not sure why that is. I am connected using the GNOME interface and what I assume is NetwokManager, although I'm not sure. I have done a lot of Googling but I can't seem to find any solutions, mainly because I don't know what is causing the problem.
Any ideas on what to do? How to diagnose the problem? How to fix it?
Last edited by Binero (2014-04-06 17:36:34)

I know I needed to give some information, but my question also was how to diagnose the problem. I had no idea what to do still. Also for some reason GNOME seems to have stopped detecting WiFi networks as well. Not sure why that is, I've not changed any settings.
