  • Cannot view certain images

I cannot view certain images, and I have already checked my settings a few times over. This only occurs occasionally with deviantart. Previously I came across a way to correct this, but it's been so long now that I've needed to adjust it that I've forgotten. So my question: Is there a way to adjust things so that the differently sized images appear regardless of pixel amount? It tends to be either only the preview or fullsize image on DA. Also, though I've Adblock Plus now, this happened even before.
== URL of affected sites ==
    http://deviantart.com

It is possible that you accidentally clicked the 'Block Images' item in the right click context menu while trying to save an image.
Check the image exceptions: Tools > Options > Content: Load Images: Exceptions - See [[Options window - Content panel]]
A way to see which images are blocked is to click the favicon (''Site Identification'' icon) on the left side of the location bar and click the "More Information" button.
This will open the Security tab of the ''Page Info'' window (also accessible via Tools > Page Info).
Go to the ''Media'' tab of that Page Info window.
Select the first image and scroll down though the list with the Down arrow.
If an image is grayed and there is a check-mark in the box ''Block Images from...'' then remove that mark to unblock the images from that domain.

I cannot "click" on the top inch of any screen when in firefox. This prevents me from signing in and out of certain webpages. If I minimize the screen this does not go away either. This doesn't happen when I am either on my desktop or using IE. I love firefox, but this is frustrating! Help!

Try the Firefox SafeMode to see how it works there. <br />
    ''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
    * You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
    * Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''Don't select anything right now, just use "Continue in SafeMode."''
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

  • Friends with PCs cannot view iMovie on my Mac webpage

After announcing my iMovie posted on my webpage to my family, they cannot view. Most have PCs and say they cannot download Quicktime 7.0 with iTunes. What can I do to enable them to view?
Should I remake my iMovie with earlier Apple software in a way that they can view?

    Ronbea,
I do this all the time at work, using iMovie to post
2 minute demo reels of various artists on a server so
people with PCs can watch the movies. Here is what I
do (a variation of what Karsten suggested):
When in iMovie, and you have your movie project saved
in the lower time-line, go to File>Share. A new
window will open. In the "Compress movie for:"
selection, choose "Expert" settings. Click the blue
"Share" button. Another window will open called "Save
exported movie as". Click on the "Options" button.
Another window will open. Click on "Settings". This
is where you can choose the correct setting so PC
users can see your movie. In the top pull-down
selector, choose "Sorenson 3". When in this same
window, you may want to change the "Compressor
Quality" to Medium or Low, as this will save a ton of
space. Click OK, and this will bring you to the
previous window. Now, click on "Size" and choose
"Custom Size" and type in Width: 320, Height: 240.
Click "OK". Click "OK" again, then you will be back
to the window that enables you to "Save" your movie
and name it what you want (keep the .mov extension as
this is what Quicktime movies need), and to save it
where you want. Try this. Once you do this once, it
will be easy the next time. When you get familiar
with these choices, there are others within the
windows that allow you to change settings for
"Streaming Video" and for a variety of broadband
settings. But start by simply choosing what I
suggest here. I have never had a problem with a PC
not being able to see these movies. Worst case, your
"PC friends" can download a version of QT without
iTunes (something like QT6) that will allow them to
view anything up to the latest QT7 formats. The H264
is a version of MPEG4 from QT7 and is great, but you
must have the latest version of QT to view these
    movies.
    Hi Daniel, and Karsten,
Thanks for quick reply and thoughts,
I tried what Daniel suggested but and couldnèt find the Compress Movie for: window after clicking on File Share. Not sure if this makes a difference, but I am using iMovie HD.
When I click on File Share, the window shows options menu for me to go to email, webpage, videocamera, iDVD, QT, Bluetooth.

  • Cannot view adds on certain websites

On certain websites I cannot view things like grocery adds. I was able to up until the last update. It is not just the website below. Other websites where you can view adds have the same problem. I just skips that page and does not allow you the option. It works fine with internet explorer.

Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
    * Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.
    * https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Safe+Mode
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.
    * Use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.
    * Close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit")
    * [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]]
In Firefox 4 you can use one of these to start in <u>[[Safe mode]]</u>:
    * Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
    * Hold down the Shift key while double clicking the Firefox desktop shortcut (Windows)

  • I cannot view webpage in an iframe

Hello, I have some embed code that was placed in an iframe and I cannot view that on Firefox 3.6.22 however many people I know can see it and they are using Firefox. I have tried starting the computer in safe mode and disabling all the Firefox add-ons as well as turning off any anti-virus software and still I cannot view the page in Firefox
    The URL is http://www.bizreel.com/sept21.html
You should see a video displayed on this page.
I also cannot view this in IE 8.07 if that helps to also identify what the problem could be. Once again many other people can view it in IE.
Any help that anyone can lend would be appreciated.
    Thank you.

It looks that the script requires an HTML5 compatible browser and only works in a browser that supports HTML5.<br />
It doesn't work in Firefox 6 as well if I disable the HTML5 parser by setting html5.parser.enable to false.

  • Cannot view any sites on a particular server

I just got my MacBook Pro and imported all my prefs from my PowerBook G4 and everything's cruising along fine - EXCEPT!
I cannot view any of the websites I host from any browser (Safari, FireFox, IE). I can view the rest of the net just fine.
If this is an ISP problem, please don't write it off as such and please give me some ideas that I can pursue with my ISP!!!!

    Hi, Bee.
(I'm on Comcast, by the way).
I'm not saying it's necessarily Comcast, but the DNS issue that Comcast is notorious for will vary from customer to customer, depending on which of Comcast's DNS servers is dynamically "fed" to each customer. Some are sometimes flaky - others will be fine.
I can view Troy's sites in my Safari, too, using Comcast's own DNS servers.
From Troy's symptoms - being able to access all but a few sites, which are all hosted on the same server - I'd look to DNS first. Anyway, it's a very simple thing to test by specifying alternate DNS addresses, so it's certainly worth a try.
Of course, your suggestion to empty cache and history is excellent, and also a simple thing to try.

  • How do I put a Shortcut Icon on my Desktop linking to a certain Webpage, like I could do with I.E./Google? Where do I find "Create Shortcut' ???

    Question
How do I put a Shortcut Icon on my Desktop linking to a certain Webpage, like I could do with I.E./Google? Where do I find "Create Shortcut' ???

    Hey, Dynamite !
Thanks so much for that ... what a 'dynamite' solution. It's so easy. I don't know how you people know all of these things ! But one last thing if you can help me - I've just switched over to Mozilla/Firefox from I.E., and now I cannot open my Hotmail from Mozilla/Firefox. I log in, it goes to my 'Inbox' page, but when I click on an Email letter to open it, nothing happens. I can't even go into 'Drafts' or 'Delete' or anything.

  • Certain webpages do not load in Safari or any other browser or iPhone..?

I'm having an issue with certain webpages loading on my Macbook...(ex. my bank site, Facebook). Sometimes I am lucky enough to get to the login page, but it stalls there.  Since the issue started while using Safari, I tried using FireFox, but the issue persists..tried to access the same pages' mobile sites in Safari on my iPhone 4S and it doesn't load either and gives this message "Safari cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server."
I've emptied my Safari history and cache, but it didn't help. It seems like this issue just started overnight!
    I am running Leopard 10.5.8 on a late-2007 Macbook.
    Please help, thanks!

Is the iPhone using your Mac to connect?
See if the Mac has any Proxies set...
10.5/10.6 instructions, System Preferences>choose interface>Advanced>Proxies Tab, make sure none are set, like for  HTTPS.

  • Some computers cannot view Captivate 4.0 lesson in LMS

Hi guys, we have been very successful at viewing Captivate 4.0 lessons in our LMS for 2+ years but now we have very strange things happening.  OF the 50+ lessons, about 3 lessons on the LMS cannot be viewed on certain computers.  We know the problem is with the swf file from Captivate.  On the problem computers, the swf appears to load for 2 sec. then we get a black screen, or we just get a black screen from the beginning. The computers that can view the files, (and from which the lessons were published), have Flash player 8.  The lessons were published as AS2 and for Flash Player 8.
Two of the problem lessons have animations that were imported as FLA's, we also did some localization (English to Spanish) by importing a caption/close caption file into the Captivate file. We did the same importing of captions for many more lessons but only these 3 are acting strange.
The lessons are scormed but that is not the issue because we tried to view only the  swf of an unscormed lesson and we cannot see it on the 3 problem computers. The problem happens with Internet Explorer and Firefox. The computers where we cannot see the 3 lessons have Flash viewer 11.
I "externalized" the animations to see if that would be the issue but that did not fix anything.
    HELP!

    Hi ,
Frankly Speaking, as you said that the issue is occuring on specific machines only? So, I cannot find its relation with Captivate.
Can you try removing Flash 11 from those machines and try installing  a prior version like flash 9 or 10.
    Thanks,
    Anjaneai

  • Slow performance On certain webpages

When I view certain webpages, safari scrolls very slowy, as if it can't keep up. This happens specifically when I view the Apple Pro webpage. I notice this also in Itunes when I view the Itunes store. I'm assuming that Itunes uses the Safari engine so I figured it is probably related. The weird thing is it only seems to happen with Apple webpages. I can view these same pages in Firefox and Camino with no slowdown, as well as in any browser on a PC. Does anyone have any idea why this is? Thanks.

SAP is going to fix the issue in PL13 for 8.8 version.

  • Displaying Certain WebPages

    Hi
I have just developed a problem with my homehub 1.5. I am having trouble viewing certain webpages over wi-fi on both my iphone and laptop. Pages which seem to have quite a lot of graphics/videos i.e youtbube will be very slow or just timeout. I don't seem able to view any videos at all. The strange thing is that some pages work very quickly with no problems. When I do a speed test (when it finally lets me on to the page) the speed seems ok, as is the signal strength.
I have tried two different browsers on my laptop and two different iphones. All with the same problem
I am also unable to download books over wi-fi with my kindle. Sometimes a HH restart will work with this.
Does anyone have any ideas ?
    Thanks
    Michael

You could try changing DNS servers on your computer, to see if it makes any difference.
Normally your computer would ask the home hub to forward any DNS requests to the BT DNS servers.
Its not possible to alter these on the home hub, however you can change the settings on your computer, so that it uses different DNS servers.
It is fairly easy to change these settings, but it depends on whether you are using Windows XP or Windows 7.
Its also quite easy to reset it again should there be no improvement.
Both of the earlier home hubs do suffer from a problem with the IDS (Intruder Detector System) log file filling up, which seems to stop DNS functioning. There is so much "rubbish" coming in on the Internet, that this can fill up quite quickly.
On an unlocked hub version 1, it is possible to turn this off, which fixes the problem.
I would try changing the DNS servers on your computer first, so that instead of getting the DNS automatically, you provide the server addresses.
A good start is to use the OpenDNS servers, which are
    208.67.222.222
    and
    208.67.220.220
Leave the IP address and gateway settings the same.
There are comprehensive instructions here https://store.opendns.com/setup/computer/
There are some useful help pages here, for BT Broadband customers only, on my personal website.
