I cannot view anything

this is weird....
i cannot see the window for mail or safari. i can't seem to open it, no matter what i try. even if i quit and open. nothing works
i have to keep logging off to be able to see it again.
is anyone having this problem? i don't have this issue with tiger.

Yeah i used the system restore tool to try and restore the system to an earlier date hopeing that the pogramme would still be there, but it would not restore on the 3 seperate dates that i tried.
When i go into 'my pictures folder' the pictures are still there but i can not preview them or open them as i would normally. I can still open them in another programme such as paint but this involves opening each picture seperately and doesnt allow me to flick through them.
My original query was to weather or not there was any way to restore this programme, download it or to reinstall it without reinstallin the whole of windows which i do not have the disk for as it was pre loaded.

'Windows Picture and Fax Viewer' seems to have deleted itself meaning i cannot view anything in 'My Pictures'. Have tried system restore a few times with no luck and cannot find any way to reinstall it from the microsoft website. Any ideas how i can reinstall it?

I cannot view anything on the internet

Please help I have almost pulled what little hair I have left out.
The desktop is XP and has just been reconfigured. It is connected to the internet via the wireless adapter with good signal. i just cannot view anything and the **bleep** things tells me I am not connected even though I am.
The only other thing it says in the bottom address bar is that it is detecting proxy settings.

You don't normally need any proxy settings when connecting via a Home Hub. Check that you don't have any proxy set up in your web browser(s).
In recent versions of Internet Explorer, that will be Tools->Internet options, Select the Connections tab, Hit the LAN Settings button, and "Automatically detect settings" should be ticked.

How can I get my safari 5.1.10 to download the java update so I won't continue to get notices that my browser is out of date and I need to download the update, which then won't download. Cannot view anything in youtube or most other places.

Jeez. Trying to view items in youtube. I keep getting a blacked out picture telling me my browser is out of date and I need to download the update. I do that and then it doesn't connect so I'm back at square one.

Hi MiMattheMac, you probably won't have any problems but just be aware upgrading from Snow Leopard to anything later is a big leap. Old, PowerPC - only programs won't work, for example, and even more recently developed programs won't work if their developers have not been updating them for recent OS X versions.
If you haven't made a backup of your Mac yet, and you consider the information on it important, please consider doing that. It is the only practicable way to "undo" an OS X upgrade should you want to. Merely having a backup seems to preclude the need to ever use it.
If the information on your Mac is not important to you, upgrading to Mavericks is even easier since you can completely erase the Mac first.
In any event let the download complete.
If this raises any concerns about installing it, and you need to ask questions to alleviate those concerns, you can just close this window when it eventually appears:
The 5 GB downloaded file will not be deleted and will remain available until you actually install Mavericks. You can do that at any time convenient for you.

IPOD Help~(cannot view anything except a white blank screen)

Alright...I never expected to post up something in this discussion thread this soon...since I got my 30gig iPOD just three days ago...and curious as I am to things...I think I broke it, hah~
Anyways...I need some help.
Here's the story.
I was updating my iPOD to a newer version, I'm assuming...and during the updating process...I accidently 'x'ed out of the box...and now my iPOD screen does not show anything except for a white blank screen. If I hold down the menu and center button for six seconds...It shuts down...but when I release/let go of the buttons...it makes a ring sound and goes back to the white blank screen.
And also...when I go to the start menu and look under the iPOD folder...it has an update your ipod thing...I clicked it...and it pops up with a screen, saying stuff like it's 'initializing'...and tells me to plug in my iPOD with the usb chord...but I get a message saying 'can't mount iPOD' or 'internal error'
I think I've tried anything there is to solve this problem...like the five R's...etc.
I do not want to think that I broke my iPOD already. So if anyone knows, please reply back.

Hmm - I see the shapes, I'm not sure why they're disappearing when you draw them - too simple of a file to point at some other issue. It seems like something with the installation went wrong or is missing (the player that renders the Stage for AS3 documents). I think the first thing will be to get the update. Can you try downloading from this page instead of through the update manager? http://www.adobe.com/support/flash/downloads.html Then try running the executable that you download. If this doesn't fix it, Flash may need to be fully removed and reinstalled.

Thanks for your help, but that didn't do any good either. I have been double clicking from the download files, double clicking on the "install adobe flash player", closing the anti virus, closing Safari, watching the install progress and clicking finish. It indicates that "flash player" is installed, but every time I try to view something requiring flash player, it tells me I must download it. It shows up in the "system preference" and from there I can make some changes, but it still won't let me view anything requiring "flash player". It does not show up in my apps like Adobe Reader does. I have an iPhone 4S device and every time I plug it into my computer, I have to manually open my iTunes up. Once my iTunes has loaded and is up and running though, I still cannot view my iPhone in devices?? This fixed the issue:
1. sign out of iCloud. (make sure you are really signed out or it won't work!)
2. open Outlook and make sure iCloud is not listed in Account Settings
3. close Outlook
4. sign in to iCloud and let it set up Outlook sync
You shouldn't need to reinstall anything. Just remember that when you first look at your calendar/contacts in Outlook it will default to show your Outlook (saved locally) calendar and contacts. You may need to select iCloud to see them.

I have a (MOV.) ready clip that I wanted to edit a bit, hence I have imported the clip (import media) and whenever I try to work on it, the black screen prohibits me from doing anything.

Cannot view attachments

I cannot view attachments sent thru an email nor can I view anything sent from store advertisements. When the Gap sends me an email and I open the email I cannot view the pictures or advertisement's. The picture looks like it would if it were sent to my trash. I am an old iPhone user.
