I cannot view my contact list via Backup Assistant Plus

I go to My Verizon, More Actions, Manage My Contacts.  After doing so, up comes a dialogue box which welcomes me to Backup Assistant Plus.  It has an option to add one or more email accts.  I choose Windows Live Hotmail and enter my email address and password.  After doing so, I receive an error message which reads, "Failed to add endpoint due to the following reason:  Missing Device Name.  Please try again."  I am entering the correct email address and password but to no avail.  As a result, it is impossible for me to see the contact list within Backup Assistant Plus.  Has anyone else noted this behavior?  Thanks in advance.

Thanks but I cannot seem to follow the instructions.  I cannot see the Content Management selection you mention.  It seems that I already have BAckup Assistant Plus on my acct. as I can go to that option on my phone and it tells me that the most recent backup was successful.  I can't see these contacts online however.  To review, I choose More Actions - Manage My Contacts - Welcome to Backup Assistant Plus - At that point, a box comes up asking me to add one or more email accts.  I choose Windows Live Hotmail and enter the correct email address and password.  That is when I get the aforementioed message, "Failed to add endpoint due to the following reason:  Missing Device Name. Please try again."
This has become very frustrating as my calls to Verizon have not helped.  However, it is reassuring to know that my contacts are indeed being backed up through my Microsoft Outlook acct. and can be retrieved from there should need be.
Nevertheless, I would sure like to be able to see and manage these contacts on Backup Assistant Plus online.  Thanks for your help.

  • How do i get old contacts off of backup assistant plus

my phone was reset so how do i get my old contacts from backup assistant plus.  i did not have the cloud set up.

Are you sure the contacts are in the Backup Assistant Plus? It is my understanding that the Backup Assistant has been incorporated into the VZW Cloud.
Could the contacts be saved in your Gmail account instead?

  • Printing Contacts List from Backup Assistant Webpage.

What is the trick to printing your contact list from the Backup Assistant webpage?
I selected all contacts, then selected "Select All Contact" then clicked Go.
I used no filters, and it shows I have selected all 156 contacts, but when I click on Go (to print), nothing happens. If I click Command P on my Mac, it just prints the 8 contacts on that page. There is no way to view all of my contacts at once, otherwise it would be easy to print them, but as it stands now, I would have to click on each Next Page to print them all, 8 contacts per page, meaning 19 pages...a colossal waste of paper.
Anybody have an idea on this?

I'm sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with printing your contacts! I definitely want to make sure you can get the details you need from your online contact info. Are you able to export the contacts instead? This may allow you to format them in a way you'd prefer to print them. http://vz.to/19joHKi

  • I have windows 8.1 and having installed icloud 3.0 cannot view my contacts in Outlook 2013

I have windows 8.1 and having installed icloud 3.0 cannot view my contacts in Outlook 2013

    This fixed the issue:
    1. sign out of iCloud. (make sure you are really signed out or it won't work!)
    2. open Outlook and make sure iCloud is not listed in Account Settings
    3. close Outlook
    4. sign in to iCloud and let it set up Outlook sync
You shouldn't need to reinstall anything.  Just remember that when you first look at your calendar/contacts in Outlook it will default to show your Outlook (saved locally) calendar and contacts.  You may need to select iCloud to see them.

Is there any way to recover (or even view) my contact list / phone book post factory reset?

I've not failed to do that.  The contact list on my Mac is from my phone, not my wifes phone (which is the troublesome one).  I restored it to last backup and it is back but I am not certain the problem will be fixed.  Time will tell.  My question is how to get her phones contact list back post reset...just the contact list.

  • Contacts with Multiple Backup Assistant + Contacts Entries

I have read others with these same issues.  Unfortunately, the responses they are getting have to do with having multiple contacts and joining those contacts.  That is not the issue.  The issue is that each contact has MULTIPLE Backup Assistant + Contact entries.  Meaning, when you you start typing a name to send a text message to, it shows you multiple phone numbers for that person (only, they are all the same phone number).  For example, if I start typing Zoe, it will show you contacts that match, it will have Zoe 555-555-5555 listed 6, 7, 8, or more times.  But wait, that is the home number, how you keep scrolling them until you get to the mobile number which is also listed 6, 7, 8 or more times.  When you go into you contacts and select Zoe, and then go to Edit, you see why - There are 6, 7, 8 or more Backup Assistant + Contacts entries!!!  These duplicates are what we are wanting to know how to remove.  My daughter has only one phone number, but when I click on the her picture in the favorite contacts widget, it shows 2 and they are both the same.  Even the BAL #225 shows up EIGHT times!!!!!   When you go online (to the Backup Assistant), they are all listed there too.  HELP!!!!!!!

I have no prblem syncing multiple mobile numbers so I don't think it's a universal issue with iOS. The only difference I see is I am using CardDav instead of using the Exchange option. Have you tried it that way? You can urn off contacts in the Exchange account and add the CardDav account separately.

  • Why do I get "communication error" when selecting Contacts in Backup Assist Plus?

Have reset Backup Assistant Plus due to sync Errorcode 5 using Verizon response to others in this forum.  After running Backup Assist Plus again, I find that I cannot select Contacts for backup. I get a message that says "Error - There was a communication error".  I was able to select pictures and these were successfully backed up.  Any suggestions?

        Hello BobS3!
We absolutely want to make sure your contacts are backing up as well! I'm sorry you're running in to this concern. Let's figure this out together. Just to clarify, you mentioned you reset Backup Assistant Plus. Was this by following these steps: http://vz.to/14Iv5eS and clearing the data for the Sync Service and Backup Assistant apps?
Additionally, here is the easiest way to backup your contacts: http://vz.to/17zlkh3
    Let me know the results!
    Thanks!

  • Contacts gone from Backup Assistant

My girlfriend's old beloved phone is currently swimming at the bottom of the Charles River in Boston. We just got a new phone today (LG Extravert) but when the lady at the store tried to get her contacts from the backup assistant only 5 showed up. We came back home hoping to find them online but they are not there either! They are not in the trash, so we don't know what to do to retrieve them.
We are trying to recover them and would welcome any help.
My theory is that when the new phone was turned on, the back up assistant somehow backed up the empty phone and erased the old contacts. If this is what actually happened, we were wondering if there is a way to get an older version of her contacts or roll back changes.
The lost phone was an LG Voyager and had back up assistant.
    Thank you
    -Layla's beloved

    Hello Layla's beloved,
I'm glad she was able to get another phone to recover from the swim in the river.  Contacts are very important and I would like to assist.  What type of device did she have prior to the Extravert?  If it is an Android as Wildman mentioned please check her Google account for the contacts.  If the phone was a basic device and the contacts were only backed up via Backup Assistant please DM me your name and her mobile number so I can look into any possible options to recover the contacts.  Thank you.

  • Now using Cloud to backup my contact - how do I disable/remove backup assistant plus

My wifes phone was setup to use backup assistance plus. I set it up to use Cloud -but it is still backing up with BAS. - how do I remove it? G
    Samsung Galaxy s4

You can't completely remove it. However you can default the choice in your 'My Accounts' selection in the Settings menu.
However, I tend to use both due to my free cloud storage is already full and the BAP still is able to back up my contacts.

  • Backup Assistant Plus ate contacts-- anybody else?

How do you get to a restore point? The same thing happened to me =/

BA+ is unreliable for backing up the data it thinks it is backing up, which makes it USELESS.
Backup Assistant Plus backed up only half (663) of my contacts - no error messages, no notifications, no warnings, nothing to indicate that it had not backed up all of my contacts.  I restored to my replacement phone thinking everything had transferred from my old phone to my new phone, then a week later I found a contact missing, then a phone number missing from another contact.  Called Tech Support who found a note that said that BA+ does not guarantee it will backup everything.  THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME THIS WHEN THEY TOLD ME TO USE BA+ TO BACKUP/RESTORE TO MY REPLACEMENT PHONE!!  After 4 unsuccessful phone calls to Tech Support (one of them saw that there were 634 of my contacts in the Verizon Cloud trash), I finally went to a VZW store and asked them to physically connect my phones to copy my Contacts.  That person told me that BA+ had not backed up 634 contacts from my old phone.  At least she tells her customers that BA+ is buggy and that they should check to make sure everything was backed up.

  • Backup Assistant Plus simply doesn't work, how do I disable it?

I have a shiny new Samsung Galaxy S III and when I set up my contacts, I added them as "Phone" entries with the expectation that the Backup Assistant Plus app would allow me to back them up. Except that it doesn't and, from what I've seen online, it is a miserable piece of junk that simply doesn't work for many people.
    Soooo....
I sent all my contacts as a big V-card to my Gmail account, sorted things out in Gmail, unjoined them all on the phone, and deleted the Phone entries. Now I only have Gmail contact entries and they synch with no issues.
My only question now is, how do I disable/stop Backup Assistant Plus so that it doesn't constantly give me notifications about how incapable it is? I've tried clearing it's data and forcing it to stop. But it comes back from the dead, like a demonic zombie! It appears the only thing the app can do is resurrect it itself for the sole purpose of notifying me that it will fail to do anything useful.
Any and all help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

I have been trying to disable Backup Assistant Plus since it is a BATTERY and PERFORMANCE HOG!  I have a lowly Droid3, and it has been really causing issues.
Your instructions above DO NOT WORK, under Manage Applications I get "Uninstall updates" - I cannot uninstall it. It is a "system application" and I am locked out of that control.  GRRRR.  Clear data does not do anything for performance.
Even when on wifi, this app's backup of data is slower than TAR in January.  Biggest issue is the
The reason the steps to uninstall the app didn't work is because the DROID 3 is running Gingerbread (Android 2.3).  The instructions above were for the Samsung Galaxy S III running either ICS (Android 4.0) or Jelly Bean (Android 4.1).
You can however "Clear the Data" for the app and from that point never use the app.  The phone will learn to not load it into the RAM in case you ever use it.

  • Help with disabling Backup Assistant Plus

Upgraded to ICS last week. Now since there is no Charge Only option when plugging in to PC via USB, is there a way to keep Backup Assistant Plus from always opening the page?

I would recommend you use Google android services for you device. I have used Google in almost all of my phones and with never a problem. Backup assistant plus is not as stable or as easy to use as Google. Just set up a Google account if you don't have one already (and I'm sure you do) .  Give it a try
    Do a Google backup
      1. Sign in to your Google's device, online account and go to settings.
      2. Personal, Backup and reset, and select both Backup my data and Automatic restore.
      3. Go to Settings, Personal, Accounts & Sync, and select your Google account.
      4. Select all of the option boxes listed, to ensure that all available data is synced.
      5. Though the specific procedure may slightly vary between Android devices, the process is generally the same.
