when i try to set up my yahoo email on my iphone its saying invalid password. Im entering it correctly because it works when i sign in on my desktop. its only affecting one of my yahoo accounts.does anyone know how to fix this?

I can't access my yahoo email account on my iphone 6. I think it happened since I updated to IOS 8.2. I have the account loaded and it looks fine, but it doesn't download anything to my phone. Along the way I've lost calendar info, my notes, and other things I need!

A lot of people have been unable to access Yahoo e-mail on their iPhones or iPads. My wife’s iPad was not downloading Yahoo mail, although her iPhone was. Both used IOS 8.2. We tried deleting the account several times and troubleshooting all of the other settings. The problem appears to have been that allowing the IOS to automatically create the account on the iPad resulted in the wrong settings for the incoming server. The following procedure, pieced together from two websites, fixed the problem for us. So far, so good.

On the iPhone, tap Settings.
Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
Tap your Yahoo account, then delete it.

Enter the following incoming mail server information:

Username is your full email address
Password is the same password used to access webmail.
Enter the following outgoing mail server information:

There is no problem with Gmail and iPad; I use it all the time.
Check to make sure that you have entered the correct information in Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars for your Gmail account.

When you were entering your new password in mac mail for your Yahoo account, you didn't perchance change the user name from [email protected] to just name without the @att.net? I only ask because I've done that, and att.yahoo mail requires a fully qualified [email protected] for access.
In mail, you might click on window on the menu bar, then connection doctor. On the account with the red dot next to it, it will tell you why it can't connect, and if you click on it, you'll be taken to where you can fix it.

click on link: mail.yahoo.com
if not opening then can you find there a notification like "blocked"
if yes : Click on that and then select continue without block or any option like that.
Then click the upper yahoo link again .

I was using yahoo through Mozilla, after I posted an opinion within the block regarding a person who lives without money it was impossible to open any of my yahoo accounts. I reboot the computer, check the firewall, uninstalled Mozilla and installed it again. This occurs only with Mozilla, I tried through the Google Chrome and I could have access to yahoo mail, the same as with internet explorer. I do not know what to do. I tried with my other computer, and I used Mozilla also, I had no problems with the other computer and I could open yahoo mail through Mozilla, but with my regular computer I am stuck. I reset my I pad and return back all app from my cloud ,after this I can't send or receive any yahoo mail through mail while I can get mails from hotmail,and I delete the yahoo mail information and try to add again but same error ,when I try another yahoo mail ID it's work .The same happened in my iPhone .

You may need to just wait it out. Yahoo has been upgrading things,a nd that can cause outages with the mail app. It'll still work other ways, as you've stated, just not with the mail app.GIve it another 24 hours. If there's still no mail, try deleting and reinstalling your info and see if that fixes things.

You cannot change the incoming mail ports on the iPhone, As KiltedTim mentions, if it works elsewhere on 3g and wifi, then it almost certainly is your employers firewall blocking access.

Reinstalling would be about the most useless thing you could do, given that the test with the other User account works -- that means the application is OK.
The next step that would be indicated would to remove the com.apple.mail.plist file from Home/Library/Preferences, after having Quit Mail. Subsequently when you relaunch Mail it will open as though New, but if you only enter the setup information for each account, and DECLINE when prompt to ask if you want to Import anything. Mail should rediscover the existing account folders, and all should be well.
As a precaution, open Home/Library and locate the Mail folder -- Duplicate the Mail folder, and drag the resulting copy to the Desktop for temporary backup.
