I cant activate an Acrobat Reader 7 licence

I have a problem, some years ago, i bougth a licence for Acrobat Adobe 7.0, now, when i install from cd and try to activate, occurs, that appears a mesage that i have to download to the website, then i dont know what version or how can activate mi product?

Firefox asks to activate Acrobat reader for each web site. How do I make it stop this behavior?

Each time I open a PDF Firefox makes me activate the Acrobat reader plugin. "Allow and remember" only remembers on a site-by-site basis. How do I get Firefox to always allow Acrobat reader plugin?
This behavior is really annoying and excessively controlling. Although years ago the Acrobat plugin was buggy, it has been stable for a long time. I don't care for the Firefox builtin pdf viewer and I want to continue to use the Adobe viewer.

How do I get Acrobat XI pro on a Mac to work fully, and not just act like Acrobat Reader. i just paid and downloaded it, entered new serial number when requested, but when I open a .pdf I have no pro features showing (such as editing tools, convert to powerpoint, etc). I use XI pro on a windows PC and have no problem there.

Gulliver & Allan are absolutely correct.
The Startup Chime is part of the power on self test, and resides in the ROM.
If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime.
It is not an audio file that can be changed to another sound.
The Startup Chime is also needed to run certain troubleshooting procedures, such as resetting the PRAM.
Here ae two more utilities that will allow you to manipulate the volume.
Psst & Startup Chime Stopper.
You can also depress the Mute key went starting up.

I have had to reinstall adobe acrobat 8 and cant activate the product

i have had to reinstall adobe acrobat 8 on a pc as it was rebuilt and no cant activate it.
The phone activation is no longer active and i get an error code 159:41 internet connection not detected when i try to activate over the internet.
the user is on windows 7 and they have a proxy but I have tried putting in the proxy settings and I still cant get it to activate.
Any help please? As the user cant use the product now as the trial period has ran out

Apple recommends backing up the data when you're getting the battery replaced by them. So I assume that you will likely lose the data during this process.

I arrived here looking for a solution! And while reading your post the penny dropped that I didn't have a serious problem. I have a booklet of 112 pages and all I needed to do was re-order the pages as printed so that 1 is followed by a sheet with 2 on the under-face but same side and so on. The pages had printed back to front and needed flipping. But then I have a duplex printer and maybe that makes a difference. Is it to do with your manual duplexing and the order that the second pass is presented to the printer. As my duplex sheets effectively needed flipping over each one I'm wondering if you can solve your problem with a little experimentation and re-ordering before your second pass.

Acrobat Reader X cant's save "old" PDF versions

I'm creating PDF documents in PDF Format 1.4 for compatibility reasons.
The published documents will be opened in Acrobat Reader. If the user is using Acrobat reader X and saves the document it will be stored in PDF Version 1.5.
These PDF 1.5 documents could not be managed in the following automated process steps.
(That's why I'm creating PDF 1.4)
How can I keep the PDF version saving a document in Acrobat READER X.

We know that Acrobat Pro or Standard can save version 1.4.
We have more than 30.000 computer installations worldwide.
This would be a good deal for adobe to install the acrobat product instead of the acrobat reader only for viewing pdf documents correctly ;-(((

I just visited the adobe site and downloaded their latest acrobat reader, 7.08 and it works fine on my MBP, although the actual installation process is a bit untidy. Mac does leave a bit to the imagination with some of their install methods
However, after installing it, I find it works perfectly with no problems at all.
I just noticed that it is now called the adobe reader - they dropped the acrobat name - probably to avoid confusion with the one that also writes.

Another potential solution is ghostscript

One advantage of ghostscript is that it reads many "locked" pdf files and can also edit and write pdf, unlike the adobe reader.

my issue is that i have one orginal Adobe Acrobat Reader 8 Professional.
I installed it on my Computer, but i want to activate it on a different Computer. So i want to return the e-license Choosing Help>Licensing>return E-License.
But i cant push the button. (the letters on the Button are gray)

The fact that the Return e-license menu option is disabled (while the product still works normally), means that you are running a version of the product with a volume license serial number. Adobe discontinued the e-license program on March of 2007 so the software no longer requires an e-license to operate.
Simply uninstall Acrobat 8 Professional from the computer you no longer need, and install it on the new machine using the same serial number (you had used on the first machine).
That should be all.
