I can't authorize my computer and not sure what to do to download purchased items to other devices?

If the computer's running Mac OS X, move the cursor to the very top of the computer's screen, click on Store, and choose Authorize this Computer.
If the computer's running Windows, press the Alt and S keys and choose Authorize this Computer, or click here, follow the instructions, click on Store in the menu bar, and choose Authorize this Computer.

Help please before I go insane! I have not been able to "authorize" my compter, log into itunes or perform a backup to my computer since my inital synch when I got my phone 2 weeks ago. Iv uninstalled re installed to know avail with numerous attempts although, Im still able to transfer music and perform a synch. Iv also tried adding an additional user acct to my computer and tried to access this way. Iv turned off my firewall and my anti virus still nothing.What can I do?.

If Apple can , as they have, guarantee us full control over the music we already purchased from iTunes for an additional 30 cents per song, then why cant they just give it to us without the 30 cents?

It's not even an option to authorize my account to my new computer. i know where to look for it i deauthorized the other 2 and it wont let me do it at all. i need to be able to load the old purchased songs to this computr so i can get my ipod on this computer and the old songs.

Reinstall it.
To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

After I spoke with an iTunes agent last night I have been unable to authorize my mac to play movies and music (worked fine before I spoke with her). I get a message
"we could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occurred (-42408)."

You are looking at the menubar at the top of iTunes e.g. on a Mac :
If you are on a PC with iTunes 11 then press Alt-S and the store menu should appear.

Note, however, that iTunes has never been supported on the 64-bit version of Windows XP, so you're on your own to attempt to get it working.

There should be a Store drop-down menu at the top of iTunes (if you are on iTunes 11 on a PC then press Alt-S and the menu should appear) e.g.
