if you have a 4s, then siri is automatically on the device, she is a native "app". you might have an iphone 4, and then you cannot get siri.

I did what you've told me, new account and manually copied my files from Time Machine. I had lots of permissions problems, but at the end, almost everything is in order... It seems it had to be with some of the Apple Preferences, but I can't be sure, as most of them were dumped to the trash can.
I still don't have my Mail Rules back, unfortunately, although I did goggled some. It is a pity, as I had around 30 or 40 of them, getting my mail in order to each of its mailboxes, but it is a small price as the rest doesn't show the before syntoms.

Clear the cache and the cookies from sites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Offline Storage (Cache): "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox (Tools) > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).

My 5 year old iPod classic will not play on my Yamaha CRX-332 cd receiver but my 3 year old iPhone 3g will. Any suggestions to get my iPod to read the receiver or get the receiver to read the iPod? The receiver should be able to play the iPod with a USB connection or with the iPod dock. Neither works with my iPod however both work with my iPhone 3g. The iPod has the latest software. Any thoughts?
If it is a 5-year old iPod, there is the possibility that the receiver simply won't work with the older software (there hasn't been an iPod Classic software update in years). You might try contacting Yamaha support (or doing a google search) to see if it is a known issue. One solution (probably the easiest) is to get a cable that connects a min jack (i.e., a headphone jack) to stereo cables, and just connect the iPod up that way. You eliminate the risk of corrupting the iPod, and it is a solution that should always work. Just use a wall charger to power the iPod.

Thanks for the post Mario, but it doesn't really address the issue. I too am having the same problem with my iPhone 5s connected to a BMW iDrive. The car has A2DP enabled, but unless I am in a call, or streaming music from the phone, notification alert sounds are muted. Siri eyes free works fine as does streaming music.
Looking around the forums this seems to have been an ongoing issue for some time with iPhones. I fail to understand how Apple aren't aware of this and have yet to provide a fix. Has anyone figured out a work around? -

As Randy Landry1 says, Google for "silent ringtone", download and install on you iPhone as a ringtone.
Now create a contact for the offending phone number. Assign the contact to the silent ringtone and set no vibrate.
When that number calls it will not ring, nor vibrate. It will light up the screen, but if you do not see that, it will not bother you. They could leave voice mail, but that is easily deleted.
And if it is a situation where the are violating the do not call list, you can use the missed call log to report the number to the FTC.
Also, if the calls are abusive or threading, and the leave a voice mail, you something to show the police. -
Using icloud, address are correct on iphone 4s, and ipad version 1, but are doubling on my macbook pro. All updates are current. Any suggestions? Driving me crazy.
Check the duplicate contacts are not in another account other than your iCloud account. Turn to Users and Groups view to see what accounts you have.

When using iPhone with Ford Automobiles' SYNC, the connection drops each time the ignition is shut off. To restore, you must turn off the bluetooth on iPhone, then restart each time. Any suggestions?
There is an update avaialbe for Ford systems to correct bluetooth problems. You need to update your system.
