I cant believe apple hasnt pulled the iPod update 1.2 yet...

they need to. serious problems are happening to people's ipod. hopefully this update hasnt killed these people's ipods. so many people on the boards are having problems! doesnt SOMEBODY from apple read these things?! personally ive stuck to the 1.0 version ever since i got my 5th Gen ipod, and its always worked for me.

I have a windows Video IPOD 30Gig and so far have not had problems. However, my IPOD is in Disc enable mode. It appears that people who have problems do not have disc enable feature turned on. Could someone explain to me why they would NOT turn this feature on? Why not use your 80GIG IPOD as a very big flash drive?
Anyway, I am very pleased with the new features that 1.2 has. For example, I like the bigger movie size. In addition, I love the fact that they FINALLY made it so that when I say in ITUNES that a file is a TV SHOW, it actually shows up in the TV SHOW menu on my IPOD. Sheeesh, it took the Yahoo's at apple a long time to figure that one out.

    Howdy Lumagofe,
I was thinking that you may need to reset the iPod Nano, outlined here How to reset iPod http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1320.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button simultaneously for at least eight seconds or until the Apple logo appears. You may need to repeat this step.
If the above step did not work, try connecting iPod to a power adapter and plug the power adapter into an electrical outlet, or connect iPod to your computer. Make sure the computer is turned on and isn't set to go to sleep. Try resetting the iPod while it is connected to power.
If that doesn't quite get the iPod going again, then it will need to be restored. Use this article to help with that Restoring iPod to factory settings http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1339.
    All the very best,

  • I believe Apple has pulled a fast one. Sometime between IOS 7 and now they have limited Safari tabs to a maximum of 24. I believe with IOS 7 it was unlimited.

I believe Apple has pulled a fast one. Sometime between IOS 7 and now

Let me put my statement in the form of a question. Did Apple limit the number of Safari tabs to 24? It was 8, then it seemed to be unlimited, then it now is 24. Is this correct?

  • Does anyone know how to change my apple id in the ipod

I need to change the apple id in the ipod touch. When I go to app store it brings up the pop up box asking for password but I cannot work out how to go up a level to change my id. I have tried many things but have had no luck so any suggestions would be gladly welcomed.

  • Does apple still cover the iPod touch 2 gen ???

Does apple still cover the iPod touch 2 gen

What do you mean by cover?
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for this price. They do not fix yours.
      Apple - iPod Repair price
However, the cost may not be worth it for a 2G iPod.
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was releases, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

  • What does apple do if the ipod is 2 weeks old and was stolen then found but damaged

What will apple do for you if what does apple do if the ipod is 2 weeks old and was stolen then found but damaged

If the damage is due to a manufacturing defect, they will unquestionably replace it.  If the damage was caused by misuse or mishandling, such as dropping, Apple is obliged to do nothing.  Your best bet is to go to the Genius bar at an Apple store and explain what happened, perhaps they will replace the iPod.  Also, If you bought your iPod with a credit card, check with your card company.  Some cards provide Purchase Protection insurance which will replace or repair any item lost, stolen or damaged within 90 days of purchase.

  • Hey Apple. Expand the iPod Sport Kit to other running shoes.

I'm a runner and used to use Nike products up until I started having severe feet and ankle problems. That's when I found out that Nike shoes are all wrong for my feet mainly because I have a 4E wide foot. Nike never has and never will make a shoe for wide feet because they're shoes are made in sweat shops in Indonesia. I now run in New Balance and have been finding out a lot more distance runners use New Balance over Nike. I have looked at the iPod Sport Kit and like what I see but I will never put it to use as long as it only works with Nike shoes. I understand why Apple chose Nike because Nike is the more the popular shoe on the market. But Apple needs to begin expanding the iPod Sport Kit to work along with other brands of shoes other than Nike. So Apple please expand the iPod Sports Kit to other brands of shoes. I'd really love to use it with New Balance shoes.

I have the marware pouch too but I'm having problems with accuracy. Since switching from the Nike+ sneakers (also don't fit my feet) to using the pouch on non-Nike sneakers, my iPod tells me I've run 25-30% less than the actual distance (anywhere from 0.25 to 12 miles). Trying to recalibrate gives me a message that I haven't run the calibration distance yet (still 25-30% short). Any insight?

  • HT201413 my daughter changed her password and cant remember it and now the ipod is diasbled what should i do

my daughter changed her password and cant remember it and now the ipod is diasbled what should i do

Providing she regularly synced her iPod, her purchases should be in her iTunes library. If this is the case, then you can simply reset her iPod and put all of her data back on it although I don't know if this works with apps. If she synced it before she reset the pass word then you can stop the auto sync, restore, and put the back up on it. If all else falls, iTunes and the App store remember purchases so you can't buy the same thing twice, well at least I haven't. I hope you find this helpful, and good luck getting her iPod back into usable condition.

  • HT5622 I've changed my Apple ID, but the iPod still insists on my old ID, and the old password no longer works, so I do I get the old ID to vanish and be able to use the new ID?

I've changed my Apple ID, but the iPod still insists on my old ID, and the old password no longer works, so how I do I get the old ID to vanish and be able to use the new ID?

    - Go to settings>Store and sign out and sign into new account.
    NOTE
    - Apps are locked to the account that purchased them.
    - To update apps you have to sign into the account that purchased the apps. If you have apps that need updating purchased from more than one account you have to update them one at a time until the remaining apps were purchased from one account.

  • If i have a shattered ipod touch 4th ggeneration and i trade it in at Apple Store for the ipod touch 5th generation Will they take it even though it is shattered? and will  i get my 10% recycling thing?

If i have a shattered ipod touch 4th ggeneration and i trade it in at Apple Store for the ipod touch 5th generation Will they take it even though it is shattered? and will  i get my 10% recycling thing?

As far as recycling, they will take one, dead or alive, so I assume a shattered one would qualify just as well.

  • Has Apple pulled the SMC update for the Macbook Pro Retina from the App Store

Does anyone know if Apple pulled the SMC update for the Macbook Pro Retina? I can no longer see it as an update in the app store. I am refering to the update that enables power nap on the Macbook Pro Retina.

It showed up in my ML App Store.
    What is your SMC version?
    Mine is
    SMC Version (system):          2.3f28
and I don't have the update installed.

  • I'm having trouble using the Ipod Updater

Itunes is not recognizing my ipod. I was told by the apple support to download the Ipod Updater and restore my factory settings. I downloaded the Ipod Updater as instructed, but when I go to open the program is keeps saying "Error reading setup initializing file".
    I'm all ears...

"Make sure your folder names don't contain strange characters
If the iTunes installer (iTunesSetup) is not responding or appears frozen after launching the installer or the iPod installer (iPodSetup) reports "Error reading setup initialization file" then the folder(s) where the installer is stored may contain unusual characters. This often results from copying a folder to your Windows system from a disk or network that is not natively formatted for Windows. If you notice that the iTunes or iPod installer or stored in a folder like this, either rename the folder or move the iPod or iTunes installer to another location before launching."
