I cant burn a CD for the life of me.... please help

Question

when I try to burn a cd 1 of 3 things will happen.
1) it will say that there is too much info for the size of the disk, but the play list is much smaller than the 700mb/80min CD-R that I am using : here is the error code thing.

Drive is empty.
The last failed audio CD burn had error code -128(0xffffff80). It happened on drive E: HP DVD Writer 300n on CDR media at speed 0X.
