  • Cant Burn CD's because of "Registry Settings" missing??

I have nano Ipod and have tried for hours to uninstall any CD-burning software from by computer as when I install it Ipod software on my computer it says "The Registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burnind CD's and DVD's are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall ITunes.
I have deleted the Sonic burner and reinstalled itunes 4 different times. What should I do. I want to put the songs on a CD to listen in the car.
    Please help me someone.
    Thanks

This really should have been posted in the "Using iTunes for Windows" section, but I can answer it for you. I noticed you list Windows ME as your Operating system. If you are using Windows ME, that is the key to all of your troubles. iTunes for Windows will not work with any version of Windows other than 2000 or XP. If you are using XP, you'll need to look into running a system file check to be sure that none of your Windows components have been deleted or damaged. (This usually requires your original Windows XP CD) Click Start>Choose Run, and type sfc /scannow in the "name" box, then hit Enter or click Run. This will scan your Windows files to make sure they are intact and operating properly. If any files are not in place or functioning, the SFC will ask you to put in your Windows CD so it can re-write them from the disc. I hope this helps.

  • Help! I am missing the registry settings!

ITunes was running great. Then the update before this last one came up, I updated and now I can't import or burn a CD because the registry settings are missing. Here is what comes up : "The Registry Settings used by the Itunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing....... What happened? How did I loose them? Where do I find them to put them back? Updating isn't helping....... H E L P!!!!

My Windows Registry is missing the following key: Software\Microsoft
    Windows\CurrentVersion\Run\iPodManager.
Do I need this key and, if so, any suggestions on how to add it back to the registry?
    Best regards.

  • The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning.

Please Help! Problem Burning CD's with iTunes 8!?
I downloaded iTunes 8 a few days ago. I think something went wrong, and it was taking a long time, so I canceled it, but it was nearly finished. When I opened iTunes, everything was fine, and all the new stuff (Genius and whatever else) was there, but this message came up:
Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's and DVDs are missing. This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes.
So, I went to the Apple website and clicked "download iTunes 8", and a box came up that asked me if I wanted to repair iTunes, or do something else. Obviously it knew I had already downloaded it, so I clicked "Repair". It ran, and it said everything worked. Then I clicked on iTunes, hoping the burning would work. The same message came up as before. When I tried to burn a CD, a similar message came up. WHAT DO I DO? Thank you.

    Here is the solution!
    Go to this website: http://www.gearsoftware.com/support/drivers.php
Download the proper driver and install.
I am running Vista. I had two, actually three problems. First was that for some reason, my CD/DVD drive disappeared. I found that the solution to this was to delete the LowerFilters and UpperFilters strings in the registry. That worked and I got my CD drive back. However, I then got that pesky error message from iTunes. That was the second problem. The third problem was that I could no longer burn CD's of my playlists from iTunes and it said that the "disc burner or software was missing." Going online, I discovered that I was not the only one experiencing these three problems.
I happened to find the solution about the Gear drivers at http://www.pcdoctor-guide.com/wordpress/?p=2726. Installing the x32_x64 driver, of course, worked for me since I'm running a PC laptop. This took care of all three problems for me.
If you notice, the other post about editing the registry makes reference to the Gear ASPI driver. Gear is the one (as you would read on the first link) that provides the drivers for software to burn CD's.

  • Itunes can't burn this cd because the burn speed is too fast for your cd...

For the first time since upgrading to 10.3.9 I'm trying to burn a data disc from iTunes to backup some files. It fails every time and ruins the blank CD. This is getting expensive!
The CDs are Phillips CD-R 52x. (Yes, I've used blanks from this very box before the 10.3.9 upgrade and it never failed before.) iTunes was set to 24x burn then changed to "maximum possible" for the burn speed.
Most times it looks like it's burning the playlist but around the 5th file it spits it out and gives the error "itunes can't burn this cd because the burn speed is too fast for your cd burner or media". Sometims it just locks up itunes with "checking media" and I have to force quit iTunes. Then the disc is ruined. It won't even show up in Finder.
Ugh. Anyone know how to fix this?

  • When I attempt to log on to I tunes I get the following message  "The registry settings used by the I tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software  Please reinstall

When I attempt to log on to I tunes I get the following message:
"The registry settings used by the I Tunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.
This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please re-install I Tunes."
To my knowledge no new software has been installed.  I have tried un-installing and re-installing I Tunes but I still
    get the same message.
Can anyone offer any suggestions?  Do I need to download a new driver?
    Bill Martin

I can get down as far as step 11 but it shows nothing about upper filters and when I type on "If the Upper Filters entry is missing follow these instructions" nothing happens
Do you mean you can't see the instructions on what to do if there is no UpperFilters entry?
If so, here's the relevant instructions for that step:
On the right side of the Registry Editor window, right-click the UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.
Right-click the empty white space within the right-hand portion of the Registry Editor window. From the shortcut menu, choose New > Multi-String Value.
Name this new value "UpperFilters" (without the quotes). Then, right-click the newly created UpperFilters entry and choose Modify from the shortcut menu.

  • I received the following message when iTunes launches: "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CD's or DVD's are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning softwarre.  Please reinstall iTunes"

Everytime I connect my iPod Touch (4th Gen) to my laptop, running Win 7 (64 bit) I get the message "The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes"  I have reinstalled iTunes several times and it has not fixed the issue.  I am running ver 10.2.2.12 of iTunes.  I HAVE NOT installed any other burning software to my laptop either.  I haven't tried uninstalling iTunes and then re-installing it yet.  Would that perhaps fix the problem?  I've read that many users have had issues with the new version of the software and I was wondering if that might be causing my issue.  I'd like to point out that iTunes seems to work after getting rid of the message, but I haven't tried to burn any CDs or put music from a CD to my laptop.  Any ideas on how to get rid of the annoying message?
I also am having trouble hooking up with our other computers using  Homegroup.  I noticed quite a lot of people are having the same issue and hopefully they come up with a fix for that soon.
    Thanks in advance.

If you're still getting the error message (especially when you plug in the Touch), I'd check for a device filter confusion on the PC. (They can affect the connection of USB devices to a PC, as well as burning and importing CDs.) For that one, see:

The NLS operation failed because the registry key Control Panel\International\User Profile cannot be opened. Error code is 2. Error message: The system cannot find the file specified.

I've looked at HKCU\.Default\Control Panel\International and nothing looks obviously wrong. Country codes, time & date formats are correct.
How do we ascertain the  cause of this error and the specific registry key that might be problematic?

    Hi,
This could be caused by firewall rules or security softwares.
