No, not yet - thought that there may be another solution than a reset with a consecutive restore. But if his is the only possible solution I will try...

  • Iphone 5 Battery - Random Percents

Hi, Tuesday my iphone 5 turned off at 8 % and since then has been struggling to charge and keeps loading up and off. When the phone does come on it could be at any battery percent. So i loaded up on wednesday at 80 then rebooted and was at 3 thirty seconds later. I rebooted and restored iphone and when i was doing this i got the battery to 100 and this last for a day but now the same issue is happening. Any ideas? any info much appreciated as its 4 weeks out of warrenty and apple were no use at all, couldnt tell me a reason it was doing it, and just wanted me to folk out 209 for a new handset.
    Cheers Andy

    Hi All,
I don't believe in turning off functionality on a beautiful phone as iPhone 5. Here is what I did, and it did make a difference to me (I was a victim of the battery issue).
    1. Go to Settings --> Notifications
    2. 'Not In Notification Center' - Ensure all the new applications installed by each one of you, have not only the notification Center turned off, but also ensure you turn off unwanted apps - (Good to have Alert Style as None)
    a) Badge App Icon
    b) Sounds
    c) View in Lock Screen
I did all this and from earlier, my power was draining out anywhere between 2%-4% every hour. Now it has reduced drastically to 1% maybe in 2-3 hours .
And I can't take my hands off the phone, which is why even the 1% every 2-3 hours, else that also should increase with time. Plus, feel free to use 'Do Not Disturb' from Settings frequently when you really won't be using the phone (sleeping, driving, meetings).
Over the air (wifi backup to iclouds also consume a lot of power, turn it off and do it once when you are charging the phone)
I believe, the new OS is taking time for people to learn about, as it contains 100's of new functions, which we have to get used to in time, and causing all these confusions. It is a great phone people, trust me .
    Cheers,
    Vishnu

  • Always charged iphone 5 battery to full..can or can't?

Is it harmful for my iphone battery if i always charged it to full everytime it's percentage is reducing? for example, in a day, i'm fully charged and plugged it out and used it for sometimes untl 89% then i plug it back to let it full to 100%. then unplugged use it for a while, and then charged it back to make it 100% again. The reason why is because sometimes maybe I will go out for some business and i need to get my iphone fully charged because i don't have any power bank. So is it harmful if I'm keeping doing that? And is it harmful too if i let it plugged for a some time even the battery was fully charged? thanks for your feedback guys

    Hi Friend,
I usually recharge the battery until reach 80 to 90%. If you always full recharge the battery, the battery will drain quite fast.
Make a full recharge just once a month (says IOS 6 User's Guide).
My battery life is over 15 hors with a single charge. In stand by (without make calls, text messages, games or something else), I already presented up 30 hours a single charge!
But you can buy a external recharger. So when you need to recharge your device you just need plug in in the external recharger
    Hope it will be helpful

  • Cant charge iphone 5 with 30pin adapter ios 7

Yep iphone says this cable will not work.  Lol using the adapter from 30 pin to lighting.. Can you believe this.

    It supports charging.
You have something wrong-cable is bad, you haven't properly plugged it in, etc.

  • Cant charge ipod mini battery

have a new ipod mini tried to charge it with the usb and there is a battery sign with an ! mark my USB is 2.0 can anyone help

    Here are all the tips:
Not all USB ports charge the iPod the same, or at all...
Especially if your PC USB port is lower powered. Some PC USB ports do not deliver enough power to adequately charge the iPod's battery. The AC charger delivers a full 1 amp charge. Rarely does a PC USB port (particularly in laptops) provide this much charging power. Expect faster charge-up times using an AC adapter. Even a DC car charger may help.
For any PC, but especially laptops, verify via the Windows Device Manager, that the unit DOES NOT cut power to the USB busses as a power saving measure.
Make sure that you actually have a USB port that works and is the
    i high-powered
USB2 variety. Unfortunately, some laptops do not have them at all, and some desktops have them only in the rear. First try connecting to one of the USB ports on the rear of your computer, if possible.
NOTE: Most, if not all, USB ports will not charge the iPod when the PC ‘hibernates’ or is off. In fact, it can further drain your battery.
Here is a helpful Article: iPod's Battery Doesn't Charge
See this link for a good bit of info: The iPod Battery Unplugged..
i A synopsis of it is as follows
"For best results, try not to use computer ports to charge your iPod. USB is especially sensitive to how many devices are on it and what the resulting bus voltage is. It may even display the charging icon but not be adding much to the battery. USB versions prior to 2.0 will not charge your iPod (and probably be too slow for its other functions). Even USB 2.0 is limited to 700 milliamps and an iPod "likes" to see one full amp for charging, plus some to spin the HD while mounted. Some (early) iPod models will not charge from USB, period. Some PCs use 4-pin Firewire cables (all Macs are 6-pin) which carry no charging voltage, so they won't work at all for recharging and can allow your iPod to run down and cause serious problems while updating firmware, restoring, or loading songs. Both USB and Firewire require the iPod to be mounted by your computer as an external drive, which means the iPod's HD is spinning, using some of the juice that the battery might like to have. And if the computer sleeps or is turned off, the battery won't charge and in some cases will actually drain through the port circuits. Bottom line: if your ports are not doing a good job of charging your battery, use the wall adapter to charge for several cycles before questioning the battery's credentials. If you have a new iPod which only comes with USB, don't panic; it can work fine. But if you do experience problems, either take everything else off the USB bus (except mouse & keyboard) and/or get an AC adapter."
b Here is another possible way to obtain a charge
I have not tested this myself, but some reports on these Discussions indicate that it does work:
With the iPod disconnected from the PC, open up "my computer". You will see all the available drives. Now, plug the iPod into the USB port on your computer. As soon as you plug it in, watch the "my computer" window for the external drive (your iPod) to open up. As soon as it does, double click on it. It should remain charging for you (and your iPod will say ‘Do Not Disconnect’). Don't close out of it until you think the charging is complete (about 4 hours). It appears as though, as long as the iPod is communicating with the computer, it is charging.

  • Cant charge battery of my iphone

cant charge my iphone on my pc or usb.. help please

Have you tried charging it with the wall plug?  If that doesn't work, try a full reset (but somehow I doubt that will do it - my advice is to go to an Apple Store, if there is one nearby).  Oh, also look at the right panel, under "More Like This" and follow the links about charging problems, you might find help there.

  • Cant get iPhone to charge 100%

I cant seem to get it to fully charge. What i mean is that when i go into settings and click the usage tab, the "usage" and "standby" items are blank. I get no info. I do for the rest of the info on the page. Is this a defect? I've let the phone charge overnight twice now and still nothing. Any ideas????

I saw this as well in the first charge or two: battery appeared full but the "Usage Since Full Charge" never reset.
Last night, I was impatiently waiting for the phone to finish charging and therefore turned it completely off to speed up the process. Lo and behold, when I turned it back on, I got the "Usage" stats! (Note they did not update "real time"...I needed to exit to Settings and then back to Usage before I saw the update.)
Maybe the trick was having it off when it hit 100%, or maybe it just needed a few charge cycles to calibrate.

  • HT4061 my iphone 4 battery went dead then when i went to charge it the plug into itunes came up as its gone into recovery for some reason, itunes is only giving me the option to restore which i dont want to do as i have photos of my babys !! help me !!

please help!! my iphone 4 battery died then when i tried to charge it the plug into itunes came up as my phone has gone into recovery mode for some stupid reason! i have tried tinyumbrella as itunes is giving me no other option but to restore, i dont want to restore as i have very important photos of my babies that i havnt backed up yet and CANT loose!! iv tried holding the 2 buttons intogether but that doesnt work either ! there is bound to be a way around this without loosing my photos. im tamping with apple, this shouldnt happen ! aswell as worring bout loosing all my photos and now i have no phone so am paying for a contract that doesnt even work . please please please helppppppp ! x

If your phone is in recovery mode, all the data on it, including those photos, is already lost.  Leaving important photos on a phone for any length of time, such as baby pictures, as you've found out is a terrible idea.
You've no option but to restore your phone.

  • HT203899 My iPhone 4S keeps on resetting while charging.

My iPhone 4S keeps on resetting (show Apple logo and peep with about 20 sec intervals) while charging. This happens since the last iOS update (may be co-incident). Anybody with advice to resolve?

I seem to have this problem as well, and only after iOS 8.3.  Repeatedly reboots while charging/connected to Mac.  My workaround which seems to work:  ensure the screen is turned ON while charging/connected.  Go to Settings>General>Auto-Lock, set to "Never".  Then turn down the brightness all the way to save your battery power.  You can revert to your original Auto-Lock setting when done charging.  Hope this helps.  We need a fix for this annoying bug asap.

  • HT4061 my iphone shows battery sign that need to be charged, will not charge and turn on

Iphone shows a battery symbol that need to be charge, but will not charge or turn on

    Urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!
02 days and m without my phone
My phone showed battery low sign when 10% was remaining. I put my phone on charging, it was showing charging sign and for a few minutes it showed USB sign ISO charging signal but very strange it was not actually charging as the battery was still running out. In few minutes my battery went to 1% and then my phone switched off and did not come back to life after that.
I tried Hard reset/ several different chargers/ restoring from I tunes but there is no response.
All it shows is a battery low sign and when I put it on charging, it only shows charging signal but do not actually charge as there is no change in the battery status. It shows the same red bar.....
    Please help

  • Problem with my iPhone 4s battery/charge.

    Hi all,
I have a problem with my Iphone 4s battery / charge. I read through different forums and blogs and I found that some other users has my same problem.
My phone is loosing charge faster than anytime before. All started two weeks ago, before iOs 6.1.3 release. I use to charge the phone up to 100% every night. One mornign, i switched on the phone and I could no hear the typical sound of the screen unlocked. In addition the keyboard made no sound. I tried to control the volume with the side buttons, but once I pressed one of the two, nothing appeared under the speaker / sound logo. I left the phone just for a while and then the sound was back on. From that day till today, this thing is happening everytime i switched on the phone after a recharge.
PLUS, I noticed that the phone is loosing the charge very fast. About 10% every hour, even in stand by mode.
I tried to switch off all the email account and do and hard reset, but nothing changed.
I bought the phone 10 months ago.
    What I have to do?
    Many thanks
    Niko

I would like to know the answer to that one.  I realized this was happening just after upgradeing my iOS to 6.  Then when I looked up my purchase date, I was about 5 days past my one year warranty.  So I'm dead in the water.  Apple will replace the battery, but it will be about $80+.  I took it to the Apple store, and they checked a bunch of stuff, but said that it seemed ok.  I'm debating getting a battery for a more reasonable price off of ebay.  But if it's the iOS thats draining the battery, then I'm not going to be able to help it.  I wish I knew a better way to tell if its the battery, the phone, or the iOS.

  • Iphone 4 battery goes to half and iPhone shuts down.  I have to charge to power back on.  any ideas as to why this is happening?

iPhone 4 battery goes to 50% and iPhone shuts down.  I have to charge it to power back on.  any ideas as to why this is happening?

You may want to try this:
    1. Backup iPad
    2. Setup iPad as new. Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings
    3. Test iPad thoroughly
    4. If everything is fine, restore backup to iPad

  • My iphone 5 keeps randomly shutting off and won't turn back on unless I plug it in to the charger

my iphone 5 keeps randomly shutting off and won't turn back on unless I plug it in to the charger

I'm experiencing the same issue. It's one thing to have to re-power up but to not be able to do so without plugging in the charger when the battery is substantially full, is a real drag.
