I've recently purchased the new imac and i cant connect my ipad to it. Any ideas?
My iphone connects wifi and sync no problem

Call Apple anyway. If the device was ever registered with then they will have the serial # on file and can look you up by other info such as your name or phone number.
To re-enable an iPad any computer with iTunes should work. However, if your data was not backed up to iCloud you will not be able to access it until you get back to your home computer. -

My ipad 3 is frozen on the plug into itunes page - it won't turn off or on - just stuck. I have tried to follow advice I have found on these pages but I don't know how to connect the ipad to my mac (the advice is to connect ipad to mac and there is no usb port on an ipad). Can your iPad be upgraded to iOS 7? If so, what are you doing that isn't working?

I have just connected my Ipad to my mac and went to upload all the pics from my mac onto my ipad but doing so it has overwrote everything on my ipad and therefore the pics on my ipad have gone!!!
Help - I have tried the restore but it didn't put back my photos it just started to sync the ones that had overwrote my old ones!!!I took the orginal photos on my iphone over the past couple of years and bit by bit i uploaded them onto my sony lap top in albums... Nothing to do with itunes...
A few months ago as my laptop didn't seem as reliable so i uploaded all the pics onto my ipad from my laptop, it was today where i thought i will upload more from my phone onto the mac then onto my ipad but insted it overwrote all the pics on my ipad.
I had tried to do the back up and it didnt work the photos were lost.
Then my ipad later today was driving me insane and wouldnt delete any of the pics so i just restrored it back to factory settings.
My laptop has had issues so i have in restored all that to.
I will now in the future just upload from my phone straight to my mac and not mess about wanting pics on my ipad.
I appricate your help but i am pretty sure i have lost all of my photos... My kids 1st day at school the lot... -

I have yet to find an email server that does not work with Mail.app. Your solution will be to configure its ports and send/receive protocol according to the email server's requirements.

Open iTunes with your iPad connected. It should be listed in the Devices section of iTunes sidebar. Select it. You should now see a window with several tabs across the top. You configure what you want synced under each tab, then sync.

When I connect an iPad to a Mac, which photos are available for import?
I seem to have created an ever-growing, self-multiplying population of photos shared between my Mac, my iPad, my iPhone, and iCloud!
I'm trying to clear everything up and start from scratch, but one thing in particular is bothering me. I connect my iPad with a USB cable to my Mac, open iPhoto on the Mac, and look at the iPad under Devices. It is showing me that there are 1331 photos, of which 724 have yet to be imported. Yet the vast majority of these photos are actually already in iPhoto on the Mac.
What I'd like to know — and I'm finding impossible to work out — is: exactly what photos on the iPad am I seeing? Obviously not just the photos in the Camera Roll, which if I look on the iPad contains 284. Does it include the contents of "All Imported" that shows up under Albums on the iPad, and contains 1046 photos? This gives the correct total number that is showing in iPhoto (well it comes to 1330 instead of 1331). But I can see some pics in iPhoto, in the iPad device window, that do not seem to be in the Camera Roll or All Imported on the iPad itself.
It's all very confusing, and I can find no documentation about this question. Anyone any ideas?There is not much documentation on this.
The iPad User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/MANUALS/1000/MA1595/en_US/ipad_user_guide.pdf) states, that the photos you imported from a camera to your iPad can be imported from the iPad by connecting it via USB to your computer. iPhoto or Adobe Elements can import them.

I had a movie in my ipad and wanted to see it on the tv. So i connected it to a friend's mac. Automatically when i connected it, itunes (his itunes) asked my for the name of the ipad and other stuff i don't remember. We were able to see the movie but when i disconected the ipad it says "No sim" even if the sim card is where it always is. Now i don't have any internet! (i'm using an ipad 2)

If nothing happens try doing hard reset, by pressing the home and wake/sleep button, ignore the red slider, and continue pressing until it turns off and turns back on.

In order to download iTunes 10.7, which requires OS X 10.6.8, you have to buy OS X 10.6. It's available from the online Apple store, in the US by calling 800-MY-APPLE, or online here. After OS X 10.6 installation, run Software Update until there are no more updates available, at which point you'll be at OS X 10.6.8 and can install iTunes 10.7.
