I cant connect to the apple website, itunes or the app store?
Hi there I had this issue on my macs and found a fix by changing the DNS server (Im not a techie so followed some online advice). I now have what appears to be the same problem on my ipad. All other websites work fine. Just anything to do with apple wont open, including itunes and app store. Ive reset the network settings but still no joy. Any ideas? Software is up to date and website, itunes etc work fine on my Macs on the same wifi....

How are you creating your wi-fi network? Are you sharing a connection from a Mac over the AirPort card? Or are you connecting to a router?
Ideally your router is configured to supply DNS service. But with your Mac you can override that in your network settings. You can also override that in the iPad Wi-Fi settings. But based on how you are creating your network would dictate the best approach. If you are sharing the Mac's connection over AirPort, then the iPad is using whatever DNS service that the Mac is using. If your network is coming from a router, then the iPad's service is whatever the router is providing. You can try overriding the router by going to Settings/Wi-Fi and tapping the arrow to the right of your network. Then tap DNS and enter the DNS service's address you wish to use.

I have a new ipad and everything works but can't connect to the app store. Itunes works and the wifi seems to be working but i get a blank white screen when i open the appstore. Nothing will load unter the features or charts tab so i cant download any apps. Purchased and updates tab loads fine. Any suggestions?

Also, when I go on the internet and try to search solutions, it freezes and I have to hold the power button for 20 seconds for it to go to lock screen. Any solutions?

So this all started yesterday when i realised that i couldnt send pictures on whatsapp, so i went online to find something that coild help me and i found a solution. It basically kust needed you to delete a profile in settings and make a new one, but after deleting the profile i couldnt find the option to make a new one. after that i went back to whatsapp and found the i still couldnt send any images. after this i deleted the app, and went to the appstore to redownload it, but the message "cant connect to appstore" popped up. after i got back home i put it on my home wifi, tried connecting to the appstore but the same thing happened. so i just gave up on that and went to messages to tell people that i didnt have whatsapp anymore, but the red ! mark kept appearing every time i sent a message. i had service and everything, so i dont know whats wrong. i also cant update my i phone 5c to IOS 7.1.1, the latest one i have and all it says is verifying update for about 10 seconds, then "the update is not avaiable". my phones pretty new, i got it last christmas. i havent done anything to my phone before all this, but i think i havent been anle to connect to the app store for a while now (my apps dont auto update like they did before) but i dont check the appstore much so i dont know how long its been like that... Please help me also everything else works fine, skype, internet, calls... its just those 3 things
No try this go to settings>general>reset>reset all settings "please note you will need to reput your wifi password in and nothing will be erased"

Reset the iPad and try again. Hold down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds until the Apple logo appears on the screen. Let go of the buttons, let the iPad start up.

I started up the Mini with the modem in one usb, and the speaker system in the other (M-Audio Sonica Theatre) - I have one of the Minis that have only 2 USB (and one FireWire) ports. The firewire has the external drive connected to it.
So far, as I"m typing this, I AM able to be online and use iTunes simultaneously. (both SaFari and iTunes respond slower than if I was using only one or the other, but they ARE actually working - in addition to having Adium running) - So I think what you suggested ( that is was something wonky was the USB hub) was a correct, yet assessment.
Would you have any reccommendations for USB hubs? The only thing that I have connected to the hub under normal circumstances that would be constantly "running" would be the RadioShark (even though the Radio soft isn't playing - the blue light on the RadioShark is always on) - and the speakers naturally. Everything else is of the occassional variety - iPod Sync Cable, Dual Layer External DVD Burner, and a "pass thu" to the USB ports on my Hard Drive Enclosure (which had been unplugged before the problem was noticed). Safari cannot connect to the App Store so I can setup an RSS Reader.
Let me be clear about a key point first - I can connect to the iTunes Store in the program, I can connect to the App Store in the program, and Safari has no problem acting as a browser.
BUT, I want to use RSS feeds and this is where things fall down.
If the Podcasts app is installed then all XML links to RSS feeds default to being opened in the Podcasts app, and I wouldn't mind this if the Podcasts app could actually display RSS feeds, but it can't. No problem, I'll just remove the Podcasts app.
Now when I click on a link to an RSS feed, Safari gives me the following error,

This is a link to an RSS feed. Would you like to search the App Store for apps that can display RSS feeds?
And my options are Cancel or Search.
I click Search, because when I find an RSS feed on a page I want to subscribe to I don't want to have that error again.
The App Store opens and I almost immediately get the error,

However, once I click the OK option, the App Store works fine. I can connect to the App Store.
So, I pick an RSS app anyway to install it. It downloads fine, and I go on browsing in Safari. I find another link to an RSS feed, and this pops up again,
Cannot Open Page

Excuse me? I've already installed an RSS app... and by now I've installed 5 different apps in the hopes that at least 1 of them will do what Podcasts obnoxiously did before and claim the default app status for XML links.
So, Safari works as a browser, the iTunes Store App works, and the App Store app works, but if Safari opens the App Store then I get an error. If I could somehow set which applications opened what links and document types then this wouldn't be a problem either because I could just manually set what I wanted, but I can't.

What the heck? Why was RSS ripped from Safari with nary a word, leaving in its place the pathetic Reading List function? Bookmarks are for reading later, RSS is for push to me updates, Reading List is just plain pointless and a waste of code. And why can't I set what programs I want to open what file types? /rant
I've already tried the Change Date trick, the Reset All Settings trick, the Turn Off Genius trick, and every other trick I could find where ever the phrase, "Cannot connect to itunes store" popped up in these forums and on the web, and none of them work - I suspect that this is because the App Store does work fine normally for me.
All I want is for Safari or an RSS program to open an RSS feed when I click on the link while browsing the web. Why is this so darn hard?Hi alèna,

When I attempt to connect to the App Store, I receive this
The fact that they were preinstalled is why they are supposed to appear in the Purchased pane, in a temporary area labeled Purchases, for you to accept. Not doing so soon after you got the Mac has messed this process up.
To get things back on track properly try these steps;
Updating Pre-installed iLife apps -
1 - Log out and quit iTunes and the Mac App Store (MAS)
2 - Go to System Prefs/Users & Groups/~user/Password and enter the Apple ID connected to your iTunes/Mac App Store account. Close Sys Prefs
3 - Delete /Mac HD/Library/Caches/com.apple.appstore/adoption.plist
4 - Reboot your Mac
5 - Open Mac App Store
6 - Go to the Purchased pane and Accept the three iLife apps. Enter iTunes/MAS username/password if prompted. -

Also having that problem - I checked and I am connected to internet (can access other websites or other pages in Apple's website), can login from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) with Mac App Store there, but if I use the (external) drive with ML to start up, no go.
I can get to the "Featured"/initial MAS page, and tried going to the login from there, but same problem as Mitoshacer.
In my case, MacBook Pro (2.66GHz, 8GB RAM, 500GB external with ML - vs. 320GB internal drive with 10.6.8), March/April 2009 model. Have done searches for the problem online, but nothing shows up (except some for older OS X versions).
