I cant delete my icloud account without a password. What can I do? As apple will not allow me to change my current apple id to my old icloud account

    Thanks.
But I cannot even log out of my icloud account due to it asking for a password, which I cannot remember and my iphone 4 needs backing up. I chose the icloud backup option and as I cannot log into icloud I cannot back up my iphone

  • I cant delete my icloud account.

so i hvae a new apple id and i cant delete my old one from my phone the password for the old account doesnt work. i need to change the apple id on my icloud accont on my 5s. please help

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

    Hello Jbug0409,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like you’re running into an Apple ID password issue on your iPod touch, and you’ve created another account which you weren’t able to verify because you didn’t receive the verification email.
Try resetting the Apple ID password for the account that’s already on your iPod touch as shown here:
If you forgot your Apple ID password - Apple Support
Also, take a look at this article which provides troubleshooting suggestions that’ll resolve most issues receiving verification emails.

  • Why do my documents disappear on my device when I delete my iCloud account?

Why do my documents disappear on my iPad when I delete my iCloud account.  I don't want to sync all the aps from my iPhone to my iPad, so I deleted my iCloud account on my iPad, but all my documents disappeared from my iPad.  How can I get them back??

To access documents in the cloud, the iCloud account needs to be setup.
If you don't want all apps to automatically sync to your iPad, just turn that option off in Settings > Store

  • Why can't I delete an iCloud account, I think we should have that option, this is ridiculous.

I worry about my information floating around some server through Icloud when I don't want it there. Apple should provide a way to completely delete an icloud account from everywhere - devices, the web etc. If I had known that I wouldn't have this option, I would have never signed up for one considering all the trouble icloud has caused me. It keeps losing my contacts etc. Am I the only one that is annoyed and frustrated by this?
I can delete an account from my iphone 5s but not from the internet. ***?

You can't delete the actual account. In part this is probably to prevent the address from becoming available again and someone else grabbing it and pretending to be you. You can go to the website and delete all your data there so that it's empty, and then just ignore it.

  • How do i delete an icloud account without a password

I bought a i phone 4s  and i am trying to set it up.  Forgive me if these are obvious questions - i am new to all this.  I have a apple ID/password which i have created, however my current itunes account/icloud account are set up/picking up my old email address which i no longer have access to and dont know the password.  i have tried to delete the icloud account but it says i need a password.  I have tried the forgot password option on apple to which it doesnt recognise my birthday as being the same as their records for some reason, and i cant access the reset email as i dont have this address anymore.
how do i delete an icloud account without a password?
    thanks for any help

you can´t delete an icloud account without using the password.
if you can confirm that your iphone is not locked to icloud device activation with this AppleID your are not aware and you have no access for - you can attempt to "erase all settings and content" on your iphone, to remove the icloud account from your iphone. all your data will be erased and iphone is set to factory settings

  • Deleting an iCloud account that doesn't exist

I am trying to delete my iCloud account from my iPhone 4S that is synced with my old iTunes email account that is no longer active. The problem is that it asks for the password in order to delete it, but it does not accept any password because the account is no longer valid. Even when trying to look up the old account or password through the "Forgot ID or Password" link, it says it cannot verify the username, even after I have put in all my old information.
I can log into iCloud.com on a desktop using the new username, but I can't change it to the new one on my iPhone 4S without having a password, which doesn't exist. So I am stuck.
    Any ideas?

I'm having a similar issue right now and I'm about to pull out my hair. I've talked to two Apple support guys, neither of which have helped me AT ALL.  They only told me to do what I have already done, so I'm not sure how well they listened to me, but they certainly didn't help me (no offense, Apple support).
I have done the "Erase All" option.  When I go through the first steps - choosing language, country, wi-fi network, etc., it gets to a screen where it asks whether you want to restore from icloud, restore from itunes, or set your phone up as a new device.  I have tried all three.  But I want to restore from iCloud with my current Apple ID, not my old one that apparently doesn't exist anymore (so stop asking for it!).
So.. when I restore from iCloud, it lets me type in my current iCloud Apple ID... great, right?!  However, once it gets to the menu (all of my stuff shows up, great again!) and I go into Settings > iCloud. it shows my OLD freakin' Apple ID and it asks for my password (which doesn't work). Why is it defaulting to my old, non-existent Apple ID even though I set it up to restore from my current one?! Same problem you're having. And yes, it still says the same thing at the bottom - that I can't delete this iCloud account because my iphone is being restored.  But I can't figure out what the heck is still downloading - by now I have deleted all my apps, my music is all there and fully downloaded... so it must be my pictures.  None of my pictures are showing up in my album even though it says that 652 pictures are downloading (it has been two days and not one picture has 'downloaded').  So if it's my pictures that are the problem, fine, although I'm not sure how to get around that. I have read about 73 other threads related to that issue with no resolution thus far.  So basically I'm stuck.
I am tempted to hit the Stop Restore button, but I don't want to lose those 652 pictures that are supposedly "downloading." I don't know if I'll lose them, but I'm too scared to find out.
I just don't know what to do. And the nearest Apple store to me is 150+ miles away

  • HT204053 i cant verify my icloud account on my iphone how can i do this

i cant verify the icloud account on my phone anyone have any ideas

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Put in a request for another verification e-mail to be sent to you.
Start here, change your country if necessary and go to manage your account .
Also check your Mail rules and filtering, the verification mail may be going to a junk folder or even being deleted altogether.

  • HT204150 How do I delete my iCloud Account?

I give up.  You win  !!
After many frustrating months of working with iCloud across multiple devices (iMac, iPhone, iPad), I have managed to lose and "unknown" number of entries in my Contacts (formerly Address Book) application that has been years in the making.
Remember "Mobile Me"?  Remember how easy and elegant it was to back up your Address Book, Calendar, Mail and other information to Mobile Me?  Remember the easy and intuitive interface that let you know where your information was and how to back-up and restore information to and from Mobile Me to multiple computers, and iPhones, etc.  Well, for this long time Apple user and advocate, iCloud has been an unmitigated distaster.  After spending many months trying to understand where the "Master file" was for my Contacts informations and why there were two sets of information now in my Contacts file on my iMAC, I give up.  I was never able to understnad which duplicate entry to edit and or delete and invariably things got duplicated again and  it got worse.  Finally, in an AppleCare customer service call (556692218), I thought I got set straight.  I was wrong.  I now have lost an "unknown" number of contacts, which I only discover when I try to recall someone who I know was previosuly in my conrtacts file but now does not exist.  I'm sure that will be years getting staright.
So, I have cancelled all my iCloud parameters in my devices, deleted all relevant data in my iCloud account and now wish to delete my iCloud account from the APPLE Servers.  It is not readily apparent to me that I can do this.
Does anyone have any ideas how this can be done?    Please advise.....
Wayne E Brenengen   -  Disappointed in Denver

You cannot delete the account from the server (partly to prevent the username from becoming available again and some-one else using it to pretend to be you).. Having disengaged your devices from it, go to http://icloud.com and delete any data in there such as contacts and calendars. Then just ignore it.

You can reset your password of your iCloud account (which is also an Apple ID) here http://appleid.apple.com

  • How can I delete my iCloud account when it is sending a verification email to an address which is no longer accessible?

I recently changed my old iTunes User id from an old, defunct, and inaccessible email address to a new and active one.  To do this I went to iTunes 'Manage your Account'.  At the same time, I changed my password, and this has been working fine.
However, I now need to change my iCloud account, so I read up on it and saw that I needed to delete my old iCloud account and set up a new one with the new iTunes user id.  When I tried to delete the iCloud account, it sent a verification email to the old, defunct email address, and will not allow me to go any further until I confirm the verification.
The problem is of course that I can't access the old email address to confirm the verification that iCloud has sent to it.
    Solutions already tried:
Go into iTunes and 'Manage my account' - this doesn't work as there is no option to manage the iCloud account here, only the iTunes account
Reset the iTunes account to the old email address - this doesn't work, as it still sends a verification to the old email address, and I can't access it to confirm
Contacting Apple by email - tried this but they didn't seem to have a clue what I was talking about!
Does anyone out there have any bright ideas?  All welcome!
