    Welcome to the Apple community.
You can only restore them from a Computer backup. This has occurred because you are sharing an iCloud account. ideally you should each have your own iCloud account, that way you can each manage your own mail, contacts, calendars, documents etc and avoid unintentional deletions and unwanted editing. If there is information you wish to share between you, this can be done with a secondary account.
Having separate iCloud accounts, doesn't mean you have to have separate iTunes accounts, so whilst you keep your personal data separate, you can continue to share music, apps, books, TV shows, movies etc.

My friend wanted to get some music off my itunes
This is called "stealing". You do not have the legal right to give her the music you have in your iTunes library unless you are the copyright holder.
when syncing it it said she had to update her phone software first
That's not quite what it said.  Someone should have paid more attention to the great big warning about the possibility of losing data if the phone wasn't backed up.
We cannot find her new photos. Please help and there was 100 new pics. Is there any way we can get them back. I already have the program Asoftech - but it doesnt seem to register the iphone only C and D drive. Please help!
It restored the backup that was made on your computer 6 months ago, which did not contain those photos. You're wasting your time trying to find them on the phone. They don't exist.
Hopefully, your friend syncs her phone to her own computer on a regular basis. She needs to plug her phone into her computer and restore it from her last backup. That will restore it to the state it was in when the backup was made.
She also needs to get in the habit of extracting the photos on a regular basis, like she would from any other digital camera.

  • I accidently deleted some contacts that I need.  I still have them on my IPAD because I disabled my contacts in icloud. Is there a way to reload these deleted contacts using my IPAD and icloud?

I accidently deleted some contacts that I still need.  Because of Icloud they are now deleted on all my devices such as my Iphone and PC (outlook).  I still have them on my IPAD because I disabled my contacts on Icloud on my IPAD.  Is there a way to reload these contacts from my IPAD back to my Iphone and PC using Icloud?  Thank you.

    Hi mth3333,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can sync the contacts on your iPad with your computer. See this article for the steps:
iOS: How to transfer or sync content to your computer
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1296
    Contacts
To sync contacts with your computer, choose "Sync Contacts with" within iTunes for Windows, or "Sync Address Book Contacts" on your Mac.
You can sync your contacts with:
Microsoft Outlook 2003, Microsoft Outlook 2007, Microsoft Outlook 2010 (Windows XP, Windows Vista, or Windows 7)
    Windows Address Book (Windows XP)
Windows Contacts (Windows Vista / Windows 7)
    Address Book (Mac OS X)
Microsoft Entourage 2004, Microsoft Entourage 2008, or Microsoft Outlook 2011 for Mac
Note: If using Microsoft Entourage, use Microsoft Entourage 2008 12.1.2 or later if syncing with Mac OS X v10.6 or later. If you would like to sync data on your Mac with Entourage, enable syncing between Entourage and Address Book.
    Notes:
When syncing contacts, you can choose to sync all of your contacts or only selected groups. The option to sync selected items may not show up until after the first sync.
You can select a group of contacts to which all new contacts created on your iOS device will be added.

  • I've deleted some contacts, but when I create a new text it will still suggest the deleted contact. I want that to stop.

I've deleted some contacts but when I create a new message it still suggests the deleted contact. How do I permanently delete that information?

Restoring should not be the only solution !
Apple should work on fixing this issue.
The option is available when u email,
A blue arrow appears and when u click it,
It asks if u want to remove it permanently
    So i think the phone # after u send a sms/text
Should be able to be deleted at will.
Apple team get to work ! Lol
    Thnks

Yes, you stop using the same Apple ID under Settings > iCloud.

I deleted some contacts on my iphone 4 is there a way to retrieve them though previous icloud backups?  I cannot find how to access any previous icloud backups.

  • BB Messenger delete some contacts everyday

I have recently bought a BB Bold 9700 and load all my data from my previous BB Curve 8310. I did it with the Blackberry Desktop Manager "Switch Device" option. Everything seems ok, but when I tried to chat with some of my contacts, the chat screen told me to "Re-invite" or "Delete contact". I choose Re-invite and then it works, but only for a day!!!!
Everyday I need to re-invite all the same contacts.
I tried to delete the contact, rebooting and reinviting and did not work.
I wipe all the data and reload from previous backups files and the problem did not disappear.
Please, somebody help me with this problem!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have the same problem, but only with 2 or 3 people from my contact list, can someone explain how to solve this

  • PH2668 I have delete some contact that i dont need anymore. but when i send a text they are still there. how do i delete them

I have delete contact out of my phone. but when i send a text they are still there. how do i delete them

I'm a bit confused by your post.
When you delete a contact, I assume it is no longer listed in the Contacts app, right?
When a send a text, what exactly do you mean "they are still there"?  Can you then go back into contacts and find the contact listed again?
Are you syncing contacts via icloud to several devices that you own?

  • Syncing deletes some contacts in outlook and creates duplicates on iPhone

I've got an odd problem here and I'm not sure how long it's been going on ...
    I have an iPhone 5s running iOS7.0.6
I have a Windows Vista PC running Outlook 2007
    Itunes is V11.1.3.8
I do NOT use iCloud or a Microsoft Exchange server
It is just a local sync. from my PC to my iPhone....
(I was TRYING to keep it simple  )
I have been sync-ing my iPhone to Outlook for some months mostly successfully,
but have recently noticed an odd problem ... a few of my contact records are disappearing from Outlook and being DUPLICATED on the iPhone.
That is to say:  These contact records that have been deleted from Outlook appear TWICE on my iPhone ...
I'm not sure how many records are affected but it appears to be a small number.
I searched but could not find anyone with similar problem .... any suggestions appreciated!

    Hello jimbob5941,
It sounds like you are seeing some unexpected issues when locally syncing Outlook contacts with your phone. I would use the troubleshooting in the following article to help resolve the issue, named:
Troubleshooting Sync Services on Windows with Microsoft Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2776
Here are the first couple of steps to get you started, but there are additional steps if you need them in the article:
Make sure your software is up to date
It is recommended that you use the latest version of your software:
Use Windows Update to keep your computer up to date.
Use Apple Software Update to keep your Apple software used during syncing up to date.
Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software.
Which option are you using to store your data in Microsoft Outlook?
By default, your Outlook data is stored in Personal Folders format (PST) unless you are using an Exchange Server to access your data. If you are using Outlook with an Exchange Server, your data may be stored in an OST file if you have Cached Exchange Mode turned on. An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch syncing via iTunes will sync with the default PST or OST file. When using an OST file, only information stored locally, or cached on your computer, will be available to sync.
Note: You may be able to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch directly with your Exchange server. For more information on syncing directly with an Exchange server, contact your Exchange Administrator. There are resources for Exchange Administrators, including the iPhone Enterprise Deployment guide onwww.apple.com/support/iphone/enterprise.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • Deleted some contacts...can I get them back if they are not in my backups?

I used an app that let's you delete a ton of contacts at once, I think it was called Cleanup.
Now when I conntected my phone to my computer after deleting a few thousand contacts outlook synced my computer's contacts with my iPhone (not sure if this is regular) and so all of my contacts that got deleted from my phone also got deleted from my computer and now I'm missing contact info from about 3,000 of my clients.
I downloaded a backup recovery program but only 2 backups showed up and both contained the address book I currently have. Is there any other way I can get my contacts back?

According to this document: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1766 Contacts are not included in the backup. Only the settings for Mail, Contacts, Calendars accounts.  It's not worded very well, but that's what it means. The information regarding the accounts are synced to is backed up, not the contacts themselves. Contacts are intended to be synced with an address book or cloud service. There is only enough contact information in the backup to maintain the "Phone Favorites" list. (the emphasis below is mine).
Backed-up information includes purchased music, TV shows, apps, and books*; photos and video in the Camera Roll; device settings (for example, Phone Favorites, Wallpaper, and Mail, Contacts, Calendar accounts); app data; Home screen and app organization; Messages (iMessage, SMS, and MMS), ringtones, and more. Media files synced from your computer aren’t backed up, but can be restored by syncing with iTunes.

  • HT4859 Accidently deleted some contacts can I retreive them even if I did a backup after I deleted them?

On my apple ID account my family shares I deleted contacts on my iPhone.  I didn't realize they would be deleted on my sons phone.  I deleted all his important contacts.
Is there any way I can retreive them?
I did do a backup on iTunes after I did this ..
    Please help
    Thanks

Apple states that they maintain up to 3 iCloud backups.  If you've only backed up once since deleting them you may be able to recover your contacts by restoring to an earlier backup.  If your backup is in iTunes rather than iCloud, check iTunes Preferences>Devices to see what backups are available.

  • HT4859 I deleted some contacts from my iphone 5 which then deleted the same contacts from my iphone 4s which I use for work, I cannot retrieve these contacts via icloud or itunes on my laptop

How do I retreive my contacts that I deleted from my iphone 5 and these contacts were then deleted from my iphone 4s which I use for work. I cannot retreive them from icloud or via itunes on my laptop

If you are sharing the same iCloud account any data you sync with the account (such as contacts) is merged, and any actions you take on one device (such as deleting contacts) also takes place on the device(s) sharing the account.  To fix this, you need to be on separate iCloud accounts.
One of you needs to migrate their iCloud data to a separate iCloud account/ID.  In your situation, this might be able to do with his phone.  To do this, go to Settings>iCloud on his phone, tap Delete Account, choose Keep on My iPhone when prompted.  Then sign back in with a separate ID and choose Merge to upload the data to the new account.
Once you are on separate accounts, you can sign into each account separately on icloud.com and delete the other person's data from each account.
To get the contacts on you iPad into your husband's iPhone and iCloud account, make sure his phone has Contacts turned to On in Settings>iCloud.  Download the app My Contacts Backup on your iPad and use this to back up your contacts as an attachment to an email.  Send this email to your husband.  Have him open it on his phone and tap the attachment to import the contacts to his phone, and to his iCloud account.

  • Icloud off, but iphone 4s deleted some contacts

    Hi all,
Had this problem months ago and thought I rectified it by completely abandoning iCloud.  And yes, I read through a number of threads looking for a solution.  Yesterday I was texting back and forth with a friend and then all of the sudden noticed that his name was no longer listed at the top of the screen, just his phone number.  Took a quick look at previous text message conversations with friends and saw that I lost contact names with many others, but not everyone.  On my phone the only iCloud function set to the "on" setting is the "find my iPhone".  Automatic downloads are set to the off position.  I did not sync my phone in any way during the conversation, it was just laying on the table.  I did try the "import SIM contacts" without any luck.  I also connected to iTunes and tried the restore backup.  The box is not checked in iTunes to sync contacts with anything.  I guess I'm confused as to why this happend and how to get the contact info back.  I can enter the names back in with the corresponding phone numbers in my text converations, but I lost their home addresses, email address, etc.  Does anyone know 1)how to get them back by any other no-cost method and 2)why this might still be happening? My carrier is ATT, if that matters.  All of my software is update as well.

An update: I just sent a text message to a co-worker, as I started to type his name in as my recipient his name popped up for me to choose.  I selected it and sent my message.  When he replied, it only showed his phone number at the top of the screen.  Somewhat confused, I looked at my contact list and he was one of the people who had disappeared.
I typed in 2 more names of missing contacts and they appear as names for me to choose as text message recipients.  However, they are still gone from my contact list and, when I select their names to send a message to, it just shows up as the phone number again.
So, my phone obviously still has this information stored on it and associated with the correct number, but for some reason will not display the contact.  Grrr!
