I have a ipod touch 3g and when i try to download somthing its like half way done then it stops an give me a error: The game could not be downloaded. The game will be available on itunes to download when you plug in your device.
Please help i want to download games on my ipod not on a computer or somthing please help!

Yu need to purchase the 3.1.3 iOS update for your iPod. This is late update available for your model iPod. You may have to use a different browser to get the sublink to work correctly.

Unless you have iOS 4.3+ on your iPod (your current version is shown in Settings > General > About > Version) then you won't be able to download and install that app.
You can check if your iPod supports a higher version of iOS than you currently have by connecting it to computer's iTunes and selecting it on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button. If it doesn't find any available updates then I assume that it's an older iPod and that it's on its version, so you won't be able to update it to iOS 4.3+ nor to download that app onto it.
If it does find an available update then before you start the update first copy any purchases off the iPod to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off it as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPod by right-clicking the iPod 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update.

Cant download tv programmes to ipod touch

Hi all,
I just got my ipod touch and to celebrate downloaded an episode of Greys Anatomy from itune uk! When i try to sync this to the ipod i get a message saying it was not copied because it cannot be played on this ipod! There is not help option in he message box either!
I tried putting it as a playlist no luck and also went advanced option to see if it wasnt in right format but no option to format it there!

Have you tried right clicking and selecting 'Convert selection to iPod'?
If so, try putting it through a conversion program. Xilisoft's iPod converter is a good one. The format you want to convert it into is .MP4 with AAC audio-codec encoding.

please help! i cant download apps on my ipod! once ive pressed install, it just goes to the grey loading app icon and it stays like that until i switch my ipod off. i dropped my ipod about 3 monthes ago and a bit of the corner chipped out so im not sure if its to do with that or not.
please help as this is very annoying and i cant download ANYTHING.

My daughter tried to open a game on her Ipod touch and the screen went white and I can't get it to do ANYTHING...I've tried holding the sleep/wake button and it does NOTHING, still only a white screen.

Try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If that doesn't work, try a Restore:
From iTunes, select the iPad and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad.
There's more that you can do. Post back if none of the above solves the problem.
By the way, I always allow "push." That allows the app developer to "push" information to your device rather than waiting for you to ask for it. However, "don't allow" shouldn't cause the problem that you're experiencing.

Does Game Center on iPod Touch 2G sync?

I understand that Game Center on iPod Touch 2G (iOS 4.2) no longer work.. (ie. don't show games, empty friends list, unable to receive friend requests, cannot connect to in-game scores)... but does that mean that it is also not syncing? I ask this because I am looking to get a new iPhone, which will have iOS 5/6 and hence Game Center. I'm concerned about transferring my games and scores safely onto my new device.
Has anyone experienced this transfer with iPod Touch 2G and had any luck? If so, please share the good/bad experiences, or any suggestions, thanks

On a mobile device everything is about optimization, and I think this is especially true for an old gen device like iPhone2G. If you've checked out the game Space-On-Air on App Store, you would find out box2d-based flash game can run smoothly even on older gen of iOS.
Though I haven't done any experiment with box2D just yet. I think the reason that might slows down your app could be anything:
Were you using vector graphics?
If yes, did you cached them as bitmaps?
If they are being rotated or scaled, did you set cacheBitmapAsMatrix?
Have you tested on the lastest iPhone/Touch, cuz the CPU/GPU for 2G are not great, but they are good, that means you could have a much better performance or at least 10FPS on 2G once you take care of optimization.
Another thing that I'm concerned is box2D is said to be CPU-intensive running in Flash. So I strongly suggest you refine your code, avoid high iterations, set frame rate below 30FPS, choose GPU rendering...
