    Yes.

  • Why can I not edit song titles and artists as I could in the past?

Why can I not edit song titles and artists as I have in the past?

Do you mean by using the 'get info' function and editing the data there? What is happening instead of what used to happen?

  • Is there a way to edit song titles on an iPad?

I don't use the Music part of "iTunes in the cloud" for one simple reason: Some times the iTunes Store gets the song titles wrong - poor punctuation, misspelled words, that type of thing. If I had the 'automatically download music' turned on, I assume my iPad would receive the songs directly from the iTunes Store, with any such incorrect punctuation. So if I turned that option on, would there be any way to edit the song titles directly from my iPad?
For example: I buy an album from the iTunes Store on my computer. It has song titles that have misspellings. Those misspellings would also end up on my iPad once the songs were pushed to it. So would there be any way to fix them? If so, how?
Would I have to edit the song titles in iTunes and then sync it with the iPad? That would defeat the purpose of music in the cloud, wouldn't it?

  • Cant edit songs on my iPhone because the music is part of a playlist?

I have a lot of music on my iTunes, so I induvidually selected the music I wanted and put it in a playlist in my iTunes.  I transfered it to my iPhone and now I cant edit anything from it because its part of a playlist.  When i open my iphone in itunes and go to the music, all of the checkmarks are grey and it wont allow me to edit or delete any of the songs or the music info.  This is extremelly frusturating because it was working fine two days ago, and I could edit everything even know it was in a playlist.  Yesterday my iTunes deleted every song on my iPhone, so when i re-synced it it wouldnt allow me to edit anything.   I have been looking for a solution for hours and have found none.  Can someone please help me on this?  Is there a way I can highlight just the songs in my desired playlist, but in my whole music library?

The playlist metadata may not have been transfered correctly and you may have to recreate the lists.  Also, music ripped from your CDs may now appear as if from a different account or DRM protected and won't sync.  You may have to re-rip them to your new iTunes library.

  • Cant edit song info

Im having trouble editing my song info. A problem i haven't had in the past. I just got a new computer today, but all of my media is on my external hard drive. On my old pc, i had no troubles editing song info off of these files. and now it seems to not be working. Every time i hit "get info" everything comes up grayed out. Ive checked the properties on the hard drive and its listed as "read only" when i uncheck it it applies all the attributes and turns the read only off. But for some reason it doesn't keep. I cant get read only to stay off. So unfortunately i am unable to edit any of my song info. Has anyone out there had this problem? If so any suggestions?
Compaq   Other OS   God damnit i hate vista...

    Problem Solved:
#1) after you install iTunes and reboot as it tells you to you must start up the program then log out of the program
#2) reboot 1 more time (this is redundant but you must do it to get your equalizer working and the ability to edit your song information).
    Everything is working correctly now.

  • Editing song titles in a playlist

Is there any way to change a song title in a playlist without changing the title in the Library?

No, iTunes gets the name from the songs tag, so when you change it in a playlist, it changes it on the tag, therefore changing it in the main library too

  • My computer crashed, cant play songs from iPhone in Itunes, getback app?

After my computer crashed i install new system and itunes. When i connected an iphone, i cant play songs on it. Somebody told me, when i start any sync i will lost all my songs.I would like to keep it or i will loose them. And as well how can i get back all my app what wasnt on my iphone installed?

hard drives will always crash, and you should ALWAYS keep a backup. it's surprising how many people still don't know this little fact about computers, and then they do nothing by cry when all of their data is gone.
let this be a lesson from here on out - ALWAYS KEEP A BACKUP OF YOUR DATA. the easiest way is to use an external hard drive.
there are apps that will allow you to get your music off of the iPhone, but they are not supported by apple.
and just because you think it's stupid does not mean it is done to annoy you. it was most likely done as an agreement with the music industry, but since no one here officially works at apple, we don't know the actual reasons.
also, you can "repurchase" the apps you have for free. you will be asked if you want to redownload the app. (i've done this.)
music (from what i understand) that was purchased on the iPhone but not yet synced can be synced without deleting it off of the iPhone, but this can only be done once (i think).

  • Updated to ios5 cant edit song info via itunes anymore

Here's what's going on. I updated my OS on iPod Touch and when I did, all my content on it got deleted sans photos and contact info. Not too big of a deal but now when I drag songs from my music folder in windows and edit the song info in iTunes (i.e. changing Sade to Everything But The Girl) it does so in iTunes but the info isn't changed on my iPod. Any info would help and keep my hair in. Email [email protected]

    Problem Solved:
#1) after you install iTunes and reboot as it tells you to you must start up the program then log out of the program
#2) reboot 1 more time (this is redundant but you must do it to get your equalizer working and the ability to edit your song information).
    Everything is working correctly now.
