I cant find my iphoto.

My hard drive was replaced earlier this year, is it possible that they didnt include it in the replacement?

It's possible. Have you looked in the Applications folder? You've just first noticed after almost a year?

  • I cant find my iphoto but still have pics

I can't seem to find my iphoto, playing with computer a while back and seem to have removed it, but still have all of my pics under "pictures"  Is there anyway I can bring back iphoto.  Unfortunately I am not very techy at all.  Help !!

In the Finder, press the key combination shift-command-A. The Applications folder opens. Locate the iPhoto icon in that folder and drag it into the Dock (not to the Desktop.) If iPhoto is not in the Applications folder, then you deleted it. Either restore it from a backup or reinstall it.

  • Cant find the Iphoto Library

    Hi,
I use an external HD for my Iphoto Library. Today, the HD disconnected by accident while I was using Iphoto. All the pictures in IPhoto went blank because of this. After reconnecting the harddrive, I reimported all the photos on the external harddrive into IPhoto (replacing the old blank ones). I soon realised that IPhoto was no longer using the Library folder on my external harddrive, because Iphoto can still open all the photos without the external harddrive being connected. The problem is that I can not find any Photos or Library folders anywhere on my computer, so I have no idea where Iphoto picks up the pictures. I have tried to restart the computer several times, but the same thing still occurs.
Can somebody please explain to me what is going on?
    Thanks in advance,
    Morten

I reimported all the photos on the external harddrive into IPhoto<<<</div>
That was your mistake. You created a second library on your main drive. I expect that it's located inside HD/Users/YourName/Pictures. You probably should trash it but don't do that just yet.
Hold down the Option (Alt) key while opening iPhoto. When you get the query, direct iPhoto to the library on the external drive. After iPhoto opens with that library, do everything that you're able to do to confirm that all photos are present and accounted for. When finished, you can safely trash the library on the main drive.
The problem is that I can not find any Photos or Library folders anywhere on my computer<<<</div>
Depending on how "Spotlight" is configured, it might not be looking in the correct location.

  • Cant find non the the iphoto, imovie, and the rest of the apps in that category that originally came with my macbook pro

i purchaced my macbook pro a year a go and i had the iphoto, imovie, ilife, iwork. but the other day i mad some upgrades to my macbook, new rams and installed a 2nd SSD hard drive in place of the optical drive. it is used as a boot drive while keeping the HDD for storage. but now i cant find the iphoto, imovie, ilife, iwork. and when i go to the app store in purchased tab i cant find them as well. and when i tried to download them from the featured tab, they are listed for full price?
how can i get my apps back please ??

That would be strange since iv used iphoto. every single time I hooked my iphone to my MBP to download the pic and  that would be couple of time every weekend since i bought the laptop. And iv used Imovie several times to make videos for instagram.
But thank you for your suggestion
FYI: I never had to purchase them I just registered them when I used them for the first time. I know I used to see them all under application file but the Iwork and Ilife never been used before.

Apple keeps books for a short time (used to be 40 days. I've not seen a recent time frame)
    What version did you have?
Books do nor exist except in the iPhoto database so you can not "find" a book vista TM. You restore a previous library (be sure NOT to overwrite your current library) and switch to it

    Hi shldr2thewheel,
it has been a while since we have last spoke, I would like to let you know, I am still working on getting used to the switch from windows to a Mac/Apple system. I do have a new question for you, I did purchase In Design CS5.5 through journeyed.com through Cuyahoga Community College of which I attend as a student, is there a way to purchase an online book through iTunes to learn that as well? Also, you know me, the struggling student, I would also, when and if the book can be purchased through the iTunes, would need to know if you do know of a much easier book for struggling students like myself and at a reasonable price as well for the In Design CS5.5 program. Our campus bookstore had closed early, and, so did the colleges library and our local library here where I do live, so, I cannot go to either place to purchase a book or to take out a book, plus cash funds are low at this moment as well but, I do have money left on the iTunes account to use, if it can be used. So, can it be used, the iTunes money, towards finding a low priced online book? I am in great need of assistance as I have a project due for my one course for this Tuesday, September 4, 2012.
Sincerely in need of help once again,
    Kim

  • How do you get the screensaver that takes your iPhoto pictures and make one big picture? Used to have it on 10.6.8 but cant find it

Used to have it on 10.6.8 but cant find it. It took all the pics from iPhoto I think then made a pic out of them as a screen. Help?

Ah, welcome to my world...the world of progressive vs interlaced, RGB vs YUV, compression/decompression,10 bit or 8 bit, 4:4:4 vs 4:0:1 vs 4:1:2, color space (etc, etc, etc..!)
There's HD, DV, HDV, NTSC, PAL and more - its a place where acronyms roam free and multiply daily.
You're in for a fascinating journey that will soon have you understanding things you never dreamt you'd need to know, then when you think you've got to grips with 'em, you'll discover you don't really know the first thing about them...!
Fortunately you've got Bogie, Patrick, Shane, David and more to take you along for the ride.
I will suggest (and probably be corrected) that what you're seeing is probably interlaced footage on your progressive monitor. (You mentioned you're watching the DVD on your computer.) Your TV has far fewer lines of resolution than your computer monitor, so FCP works within those constrictions. Also your TV runs at 29.97 frames a second, which is actually 60 frames a second as each frame is divided into two fields, which comb together to for one frame. These combs are very much evident when watching a DVD on a computer. Even high budget Hollywood films have this problem, especially when the camera or subject is moving. There is no way around this if you're outputting on DVD or NTSC.
You could create an Progressive file, which won't do this on your monitor, but thats a whole other ball of wax...
Welcome though. Its all good. (And the people on this site are very helpful, I've learnt a lot over the last 5 years by simply reading these posts.)

  • IPhoto Shared Library - Cant Find After Restore from Backup

Hello, I hope someone can help.  A couple of years ago I created a shared iPhoto library image (I believe it was a mounted image file) so that two (2) users on a single iMac could view/add files collectively.  I have been using the Time Machine backup since we purchased the iMac, and for years everything was fine.  Recently, the HD failed and we had to have Apple install a new one.  After successfully restoring all files/settings from the latest time machine backup, I noticed that the shared iPhoto library is no longer available.  iPhoto asks for the library location upon launch, but I cant find this file anywhere.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to bring this shared image file back, and remount it so that I can find my photos?
    Thanks for the help!

iLife requires 10.4.10, I believe. Have you updated back to that OS?

  • Cant find the pictures I imported from my digital camera using iphoto

    Hi,
I have a macbook pro and imported part of some photos from my digital camera using Iphoto. When it prompted me whether the photos should be deleted from the camera, I chose 'yes'. It deleted the pictures from the camera, but I cant find them anywhere on iphotos. I have tried searching for the pics on my mac using the 'finder', but had no luck.
I repeated the same thing.. took some more pictures and tried to import part of them and then delete the same pics from the camera. Iphotos did the same thing..
I usually import all (and not part) of the pictures from my camera and then use the same option to delete the pictures from the camera after importing them to iphotos. This has always worked.
    Please help. Thanks,
    Kanchan

In the Event mode make sure the sort order is By Date ➙ Descending.  That will put the newer Events at the top of the window.  Check there to see if they are there or not.
The safest method to get photos from a camera to the library is to upload them to a folder on the Desktop first.  That makes sure they are safely on the hard drive.  From there you can import the folder into the library and when you've confirmed they are in the library you can delete the folder from the Desktop and have the camera reformat the memory card.

  • Cant find i i life after installing it and iphoto has stopped working

cant find i i life after installing it and iphoto has stopped working

If it is a new Mac then iLife came preinstalled on it
As to searching for iLife - it is not an application - it is a suite of five applications - iPhoto - iMovie - IDVD - iWeb - Garage Band  --  http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC623Z/A/iLife-11?fnode=NDQ5MDg0MA&mco=MjA4Nzk 4OTQ
Do you have these five applications in your applications folder?
what happens when you launch them?

  • IPhoto has dissappeared off my laptop. Says it is installed, but cant find it. All photos gone

iPhoto has dissappeared off my laptop. Says it is installed, but cant find it. All photos gone

Do a Spotlight for "iPhoto.app" and see what yo get. If that fails download and run Find Any File to search for a file with "iPhoto.app" in the file name.
FAF can search areas that Spotlight can't like invisible folders, system folders and packages. If the application is hiding somewhere on your hard drive FAF will find it.
