I cant find old mail.  Is there some sort of filing cabinet?

I have a very important old e-mail that I cannot find on my computer. I have used the search tool and looked through the folders that supposedly save all old messages. Am I looking in the wrong spot? Is there any type of filling cabinet where I can see all of my old mail?

    I purchased extra space and have backed up my ipad and my iphone.  I backed up my iphone this am and again around 3.00pm when I was in the apple store.  I came home to restore the phone and now cant see the back up on icloud.  where did it go and how can I see all of my storage on icloud

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
    settings > general > reset > erase all content and settings, once complete the set up assistant will ask if you have an iCloud back up, follow on screen instruction to restore from it.

    Try using the Spotligh search feature on the iPod. To get there, swipe the Home screen fully to the right.
    Also, if they are Games, they could be in the Game Center.folder

    Probably but for that kind of expertise I would ask the experts in the GarageBand forum.

  • I tried to set up a new library for my old ipod nano so i could update songs on it however when i tried to import songs from a cd it crashed and i had to end task therefor not getting to sync the new songs with ipod nano. now i cant find old library

    However during the process of adding new songs itunes crashed and i had to end task therefor not getting the chance to sync the new songs onto ipod nano. later when i plugged in my current ipod touch all my songs have disappeared and i cant find the original itunes library i had for it! is there anyway to get it back? i have tried pressing shift when opening itunes but still cant find the original itunes that i had!!

    Since all of your music came from your computer in the first place, then it should still be there and should be included in your backup copy of your computer.
    " it told me when i pluged hers in 2 ipods could not use the same account"
    This is not true.  You have misunderstood.
    You can sync as many ipods/iphones/ipads as you like to one one library.

  • Can't find old Mail

    I recently changed my POPaccount through mail as my server changed hands. After deleting my old account and restting my new one (with the same mail address), I lost all of my old mail that I had been saving up. Is there any way to retrieve those past letters?
    G5 Power Mac   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

    You're welcome.
    Time Machine isn't a Tiger feature - this will be included with Leopard expected to be released this spring.
    Even with Time Machine, nothing can or should take the place of creating and maintaining a backup of all important data saved to an external drive or media.
    It isn't a matter of if but when your hard drive has a partial or complete failure and Time Machine will be of no use depending on the failure and especially with a complete failure which I experienced with a G3 PB less than 1-yr old. Without any warning, I experienced a complete hard drive failure and didn't maintain a backup at the time. Apple replaced the hard drive under the standard 1-yr warranty but no existing data was recovered and I lost everything. Time Machine would not have made any difference in this situation but would have made a difference in your situation but the main point is, nothing should take the place of maintaining a regular backup.

  • Upgraded from 10.3 to 10.5, can't find old mail

    I just upgraded from 10.3 to 10.5 and cannot figure out how to get my old mail messages. It receives new mail and sends find, so I know all the account info was kept and restored, but it didn't seem to transfer my old messages. Any ideas?

    I just installed Leopard today and updated to 10.5.3, and have exactly the same problem. If you find out what happened, please post it. Thanks.

  • Bought used macbook pro and cant find the mail anywhere?

    i tryed int the finder and in file, applications, and no mail?

    Use the computer's original disks or preloaded recovery partition(if it originally shipped with 10.7 or newer) to erase the drive and install a new OS. While there are other ways of getting Mail, other components may be missing.

  • I deleted preference file and now cant find any mail in user/library/mail/ folder!

    I actually overwrote the preference file with an older one, because mail was having major issues sending and receiving and other password related wierdness...it actually made my host block my ip when I tried to reset the mail settings and test...meaning I wasnt able to see my website anymore...my administrater for the hosting reset it now...but its kinda freaking me out!
    anyways the major issue now is the fact that after I overwrote the mail preference file and reopened mail everything was different...somewhat what I expected since I changed the preferences...but I was confident that I could easily go to the mail folder in library and retrieve all inbox, sent, draft, and trashed folders of messages...nothing was there!!!
    Has anyone experenced this?
    I didnt look in the mail folder before changing the preferences, so I dont know if they were their at all...ever?
    but the interface was showing all files, sent and recieved deleted etc...is it possible that it was only setup somehow on a server, like using imap or a cloud?
    I recently got this computer (sry I should have mentioned: Macbook, snow leopard 10.6.8, using mail 4.6 i think)
    SO maybe the dude I bought it from somehow had it set to use a server based repository for mail?? is there a way to know...
    I fiddled with computers a fair bit and feel pretty confident with OS related issues, but this is way out of my league!
    anyone?
    all ideas appreciated!
    Thanks
    Ja-Flow

  • My 2007 Intel iMac is waking from sleep on its own during the early morning hours. Not sure why. Is there a way to find out by looking at some sort of log files or something else?

    I'm wondering if someone else is having control of my iMac as it randomly wakes up from sleep while I am sleeping sometime during the night. I've woken up with the light from the monitor brightening my room. Need to find out what is causing it to wake up and stay on. Any suggestions?

    I've had this same issue lately. Here's one thing to check: System Preferences > Energy Saver > Wake for Network Access should be unchecked.
    Mine is unchecked, so the only other thing I can think of is that it might be Time Machine backing up. My iMac is backing up to an external hard drive, and also sharing that drive over the network so two other Macs can back up as well.
    Should be an easy theory to test. Turn off AirPort, unplug Ethernet, and let the iMac sit. See if it still happens.

  • Hy,i have bay de kit kamera but i cant find the ifile app? some bary help?

    tt

    The camera connection kit is for transferring photos and videos from SD cards or directly from a camera to the iPad - not for use with other files/documents or for transferring to an SD card
    In terms of the iFile app, if it's not available in your country's iTunes App Store then you can't buy/download it (though there does appear to be an iFile app in the Brazil store) - the terms of use of the stores state that you can only use the store in the country where you are, so you cannot get it from another country either.

  • Is there some sort of utility I can use to make 'profiles'? Update:Check inside for scrip

    Is there a utility that can help me out? The mode changer utility only goes about halfway for what I need.
    I think it's kind of annoying to have to switch modes, but I understand the reasoning behind it - I just wish there was a more convenient way to do it. This is a step in the right direction, but it is missing one key feature - it can't control anything outside of the modes.
    I personally wish there was some way I could set up profiles, that I could then perhaps make a direct shortcut to and just double click to set it, rather than going through numerous menus. My specific issue is that I spend a lot of time with headphones, and a lot of time with speakers, both in and out of games.
    Using 4. speakers in entertainment mode for music and movies, I use some eq to flatten the response, maybe 35% crystalizer, and cmss-3d surround. Switching to a game with speakers, I turn up the crystalizer a bit.
    Using a very good set of headphones in entertainment mode, I MUST turn off CMSS-Headphones. It is an absolute atrocity, and destroys any semblance of detail in the music. I also need far less if any crystalizer, and virtually no eq.
    Switching to game mode, I have to turn CMSS-headphone back on to get the 3d HRTFs activated. Since its a game, I use a bit more crystalizer.
    Basically, any time I want to switch between headphones and speakers, or game and entertainment, I have to go back into the console to reconfigure everything if I want it sounding its best. I basically have to leave the console open all the time. This is so irritating to me, sometimes I forget, and find myself checking the console just to see if I got it right...there has to be a better way.Message Edited by bd2003 on 06-2-2006 05:34 PM

    You can modify the method used on Mode Changer -utility by yourself.
    Just add/edit 'movements' the way you wish the script to be working for you.
    Here are 2 script examples you can use as a starting source. Movements on both scripts are based on Audigy 2 speaker selections option order which is :
    st option 2/2. --> {HOME} or {END}{UP}{UP}{UP}{UP}
    2nd option 4/4. --> {END}{UP}{UP}{UP}
    3rd option 5. --> {END}{UP}{UP}
    4th option Headphones --> {END}{UP}
    5th option 6/6. --> {END}
    !! You need to have Creative Audio Console installed to get these scripts working.
    !! Close Audio Console before executing a script.
    ' ================== st script ====================
    '----- Start Of "Headpones.vbs" ----- (Save as Headphones.vbs) ---------------------
    Option Explicit
    Dim WshShell
    Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell" )
    ' Script starts up the Audio Console
    ' !! RENAME THE PATH IF YOU HAVE AUDIO CONSOLE INSTALLED IN DIFFERENT PATH
    WshShell.CurrentDirectory = "C:\Program Files\Creative\AudioConSole\"
    WshShell.Run("CTAudRun.exe" )
    ' slower PC's --> sleep value maybe needed to be increased
    WScript.Sleep(00)
    ' send some keystrokes to get the speaker settings box activated
    ' This is the locating 'routine' you use to get to the settings screen (selecting tabs and dialog)
    WshShell.SendKeys("{TAB}{TAB}{RIGHT}{TAB}{TAB}" )
    ' set the speaker selection to Headphones (jump to last option and then up-arrow to previous option)
    ' here you set the setting option as you want it to be
    WshShell.SendKeys("{END}{UP}" )
    ' exit Audio Console -panel
    ' If you have more settings to do you just add movements the way you need (like backing up to the tab selection etc.
    WshShell.SendKeys("{TAB}{TAB}{ENTER}" )
    WScript.Quit(0)
    '----- End Of "Headphones.vbs" -------------------------------------------------------------
    ' ================== 2nd script ====================
    '----- Start Of "5..vbs" ----- (Save as 5..vbs) -------------------------------------------
    Option Explicit
    Dim WshShell
    Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell" )
    ' Start up the Audio Console
    ' RENAME THE DIRECTORY IF YOU HAVE AUDIO CONSOLE INSTALLED IN DIFFERENT PATH
    WshShell.CurrentDirectory = "C:\Program Files\Creative\AudioConSole\"
    WshShell.Run("CTAudRun.exe" )
    ' slower PC's --> sleep value maybe needed to be increased
    WScript.Sleep(00)
    ' send some keystrokes to get the speaker settings box activated
    WshShell.SendKeys("{TAB}{TAB}{RIGHT}{TAB}{TAB}" )
    ' set the speaker selection to 5. item (jump to last option then up-arrow twice to 5.)
    WshShell.SendKeys("{END}{UP}{UP}" )
    ' exit Audio Console -panel
    WshShell.SendKeys("{TAB}{TAB}{ENTER}" )
    WScript.Quit(0)
    '----- End Of "Headphones to 5..vbs" -----
    How it works? Copy script and paste it to Notepad --> edit the moves you want the script to execute and save as (all filetypes) --> name.vbs --> execute by double clicking the name.vbs file --> script opens the Audio Console and makes those moves you programmed into script (you'll see it on action).
