Update Software button is available in iOS 5 and later iOSs.
Currently, you need to take the iTunes route.
Don't forget to backup.

It will only appear if your carrier has an LTE network and your account is provisioned for it.
Are you using a supported carrier with an LTE network?

Hi I use my phone for conference calls and use the microphone jack to connect to speakers. It doesnt work when making phone calls but when i play music on the phone the jack works with the external speaker.

I can't find the Apps button in my ipod touch.
I already downloaded some applications in itunes, hoping to sync it to my ipod touch. However, there is no button for Apps in my ipod touch.
And in the partitions of my ipod touch memory (music, photos, videos), there is no space for Applications.

Oh this is quite easy to solve!
1) First connect iPod to computer
2) Launch iTunes
3) On the left hand side of iTunes, under Library, there is an Apps header?
4) When you click on that, you should see your downloaded apps?
5) A little lower down, you'll see your iPod under Devices, drag apps over your iPod's list (over the music, photos, videos area as you mentioned), you'll that that area is highlighted, release left mouse button to drop them apps!
6) Copying ensues ...
7) Check iPod
8) Back at iTunes, click on your iPod's name, look at the right side, you'll see a summary page right?
9) At the top of that page, one of the menu item is Apps, click on that and you'll see a replica of sorts of your iPod, unchecking apps (or selecting by checking) and then hitting Apply button below, will apply the changes you made onto your iPod.
10) You can also arrange your iPod from there if you like.
That was a lot of steps, but its pretty simple to perform, and the last few wasn't really neccessary, it does look more impressive to write a long list of steps however.

If you cannot select the text at all, it may be locked, or its Group/Layer/whatever may be locked.
You can look into the Layers palette and see: locked items are shown with a padlock next to the eye to the left.
If you can select it but it shows as paths with Anchor Points, you may look for a hidden Layer or hidden objects, where the original live type may be: they are shown without the eye.
Failing that, you may ask for a file with the original live Type.
Failing that, you will have to recreate the live Type on top of the outlined Type, and you will need to know the font, or use a substitute font.

Can't find the captured screen file on my Desktop, Please help!

I'm using OS X 10.5.6 for a while but the problem just occurred recently (it worked fine before) I don't know why. I update the system often.
I used the ShiftControl+Command3 or 4 shortcut but it doesn't work, I heard the shutter sound but the file doesn't appear on my Desktop. I did use spotlight to find the file but I found only the old captured images. The Grab utility is still fine but it's a lot easier to use the shortcut function.
If you have a solution, please help!

Shift-Command-3 or 4 puts the screen shot as Picture n.png (n being the next available number). Adding the control key to the set instead puts the screen shot on the clipboard to paste in somewhere.

I cannot find the "authorise this computer" prompt anywhere? The instructions say to open itunes and go to "authorise this computer". I have icloud and an Iphone4. Everything i have downloaded to the imac, has shown up on the iphone. But recently i have bought some music on the iphone, and it will not show up on the imac. I dont get it? all the pics i take on the iphone show up on the imac.

That sounds like you are looking at the Mac App Store, not iTunes - in iTunes (you don't need to authorise your account in the Mac App Store, you don't download or play music, films etc from there) you should have similar to :
