I cant get iPhoto on my second hand macbook air

can anybody tell me or provide me how can i get i photo free easily on my macbook air. its second hand i tried 100sss iam tired

iPhoto comes for free with a new Mac, but not with a second hand mac. If the original owner accepted the pre-installed iPhoto to the AppleID and did not release it from this AppleID, there nothing you can do. The original owner has to contact Apple Support and to release iPhoto and iMovie from the AppleID, if she or he wants to do this. Then you will be able to accept the apps to our own AppleID on the Purchased Page of the App Store. Othwerwise, your only option is to buy iPhoto, if you want it.

  • I can't install iPhoto 11 app on second hand macbook air

    Hey,
On a second hand macbook air with formatted ssd disk + reinstalled Lion, I can't install ilife. It is already installed by another user (former owner of the macbook air ?).
How can this be solved ?
    Thx

Just an agreement with Csound1 - you need to begin again anew (is that repetitious?).
CleanMyMac has obviously made the installation of Adobe products impossible. Which products, specifically, are you trying to install and which versions? You should ALWAYS use the provided Adobe Uninstallers to uninstall an Adobe product. Kind of pointless information at this time, I know, but just as a reminder for 'next time,' when you surely will no longer be using CleanMyMac.

No, that's not true. This is one of the 'benefits' of Lion (if you want to see it that way). The OS is on a separate partition and you can reinstall the OS without another physical drive.
What you do is reboot the computer while holding down the 'option' key. From the list of disks that show up (you can release the 'option' key now), choose 'Recovery HD'.
When you get to what looks like a Desktop, choose 'Reinstall OS X Lion'.  Shortly after this, you will get asked for your Apple ID. Put your own Apple ID in the box and everything should proceed smoothly from there.

The seller was remiss in not properly preparing the Mac for sale. That task has now fallen to you. You will encounter continual problems until you perform the following. Ignore references to DVD since the MacBook Air has none.
If you are unable to do that contact the seller and request instructions, or arrange for its return and a refund of your costs.
Refer to What to do before selling or giving away your Mac
If you enabled FileVault, disable it in System Preferences > Security & Privacy.
"Deauthorize" your iTunes account. Same for Audible if you have one.
System Preferences > iCloud > de-select "Back to My Mac" and "Find my Mac".
Sign out of iCloud. Select "Delete from Mac" when it appears.
Next: Remove all your personal information by completely erasing the Mac's internal storage.
If your Mac shipped with a grey System Install DVD, start your Mac with that disc inserted in the optical drive while holding the c key to boot from it instead of its internal volume, which should be erased before selling it.
If your Mac did not ship with discs, boot OS X Internet Recovery:
using three fingers press and hold the following keys: ⌘(command), option, and R.
With a fourth finger press the power button to turn on the Mac.
Keep the other three fingers where they are until you see the "spinning globe" icon.
This method forces the Mac to download its originally installed OS from Apple's servers, which will not require an Apple ID to install.
Remove any Open Firmware password if you created one: select Firmware Password Utility from the Utilities menu and remove it.
Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
Remove any partitions you may have created.
Select the Mac's hard disk icon, then select the "Erase" tab.
Select the "Security Options" button and erase the disk.
The more "securely" you erase the disk, the longer it will take.
The fastest method is sufficient since all but the most expensive techniques and equipment will be able to recover securely erased data.
When it finishes, quit Disk Utility.
Select Install Mac OS X from the Utilities menu.
An Apple ID will not be required. If a prompt for an Apple ID appears, return to Step 5.
Do not create any user accounts.
When it finishes, shut down the computer.
If you want to install the bundled apps that were included with your Mac, restart by using your Applications DVD if one was included, and install the bundled apps. Apps bundled with newer Macs that shipped without discs cannot be transferred. Its new owner must purchase them from the Mac App Store using his or her own Apple ID.
If the Mac is being sold to someone outside the family consider the following additional information:
System Install DVDs that came with your Mac should remain with it forever, and must be included with the sale.
Consider including your AppleCare certificate if you bought it, printed documentation, even the box if you still have it. AppleCare stays with the equipment and is transferable.
Execute a bill of sale showing the Mac's serial number.
Once no longer in your possession, remove the Mac from your devices in My Support Profile.

How can I check that second hand macbook air is not stolen?

Ask for the original purchase receipts.
Take it to the Apple store  and make sure that the computer is not stolen
provided they have any such information.

  • Cannot update app on second hand Macbook aIR

I recently got a second hand Macbook Air and I am trying to update one of my apps but it comes up with the wrong Apple ID (where you have to enter your password) when  try to update it. How do I change this?

What you have to do is erase the SSD and reinstall the ORIGINAL OSX.  By doing that you can register the MBP in your name wirh your Apple ID.
Boot the MBA with the OPTION + COMMAND + R keys.  The display should show a revolving globe.  Follow the directions andyou will be connected to the Apple servers.
You will need a solid Internet connection.
If your MBA came with 10.6 or 10.5 OSX, you will have to use the original installation media.
    Ciao.

Presumably, you want Snow Leopard in order to be able to run PowerPC applications.  If so, more information can be found here:

I bought a second hand Macbook Pro and colorful stud
Only after a few months I decided to reformat it
Bad movie started here I did not get it with a disc and I come to install the operating system
And he asks the name of Apple's user ID financed had been bought Lion OS Now
And who sold me does not answer then I found the phone number of his mother
She said he lived in USA and paid him more than the lion version of the MacBook and now I can not install Lion
    And I'm not from USA

Unless you go back to the original owner, yes you need to pay for it again.
You're entitled to the OS that shipped with the device from Apple, but if you don't have that media there's nothing you can really do.  If the system originally shipped with 10.7 or 10.8 then when you boot it to Internet Recovery, it will automatically offer you that OS version (as the serial # is registered with Apple).  If it shipped with an older OS, then you need to enter the Apple ID that purchased 10.7 or 10.8.  You didn't purchase it so that's not you.
The options you have are to buy Lion for $29 US (I don't know the price in Palestine), or Mountain Lion for $19 US (don't know the price in Palestine either), and install from scratch.
And it's a good idea to know you have restore media before you reformat your machine.

  • Cant get iPhoto to update

I upgraded to Yosemite on my mac and I cant update iPhoto at all (or Final Cut Pro).  I keep getting the message that the update isnt available because it was bought by another user or the item was refunded or cancelled.

    Fallingtree wrote:
I cant even do that because I already downloaded Yosemite.  even before yosemite, if I clicked on iphoto it would ask to merge (i think)  I did that on my ipad but didnt sync all the folders.
Sorry but that make no sense at al - either in the context of your question or as a separate question
You original question is about getting iphoto to update
    Cant get iPhoto to update
    And you further state
I keep getting the message that the update isnt available because it was bought by another user or the item was refunded or cancelled.
    the answer to that is
If you are logged in with the Apple ID that was used to purchase iPhoto or to set up the computer if it came preinstalled then quit iPhoto, backup your iPhoto library  and drag the iphoto application to the trash (do not empty the trash yet) and then go to the App store and install iPhoto
If that does not work contact the App store support - link is on the right of the App store window
What happens exactly when you try the answer to your question?

  • Restoring a second hand MacBook from a time machine backup of a seperate second hand MacBook

I just bought a second-hand macbook to replace the macbook my old employer took from me when I changed jobs. I have taken several time machine backups of my old system in the hope I can just setup the machine I just purchased to mirror the other one, including backing up my iPhone via iTunes.
I have the snow leopard installation disk and can get copies of all the software I had installed if necessary. The old MacBook that was returned to my previous employer is being wiped of everything and setup new. Can anyone explain if / how I can setup my (new) second hand MacBook from another machines time-machine backup?
    Thanks,
    Peter

    Shouldn't be any problem.
Boot from your SL installer DVD (hold down the C key on startup or hold down Alt/option on start and choose the installer disc).
OK the language page (if present). From the installer screen, go to the menu bar and choose Disk Utility; depending on the OS version it may be in the Utilities menu or Tools menu.
In DU, select your internal drive in the sidebar (the top item with the makers name and serial no.). Run Repair Disk. If that comes up as disk OK, click the partition tab. Select the partiton from the drop-down above the graphic; 1 partiton is all you need. Go to the options button and ensure that the partition scheme is GUID (for Intel Macs) or APM (for G5 and earlier) and the file system to Mac OS Extended (Journalled). Name the partiton (usually Macintosh HD), click Apply.
When that's finished, select the new volume in the sidebar (indented to the right below the drive) and go to the Erase tab, select Security options and select zero data (one pass is more than sufficient). Click erase. That will take quite some time; probably measured in hours and dependant on the size of the drive.
When that's completed, close DU and continue with the installation.
Shortly into the installation process, you'll be asked if you want to migrate data from another source. Select 'from a Time Machine Backup' and follow the prompts.
    See Pondini's FAQs;
    http://web.me.com/pondini/Time_Machine/19.html
    http://web.me.com/pondini/AppleTips/SetupAsst.html
That should leave you with the same setup as you had on the previous MB.

  • Should I do a clean OS install after buying second hand MacBook?

I just bought a second hand MacBook 2010 for my girlfriend. It came with a clean Lion installed. What is making me paranoid is that I use tracking software Prey on my own MBP and now how can I be sure that the new one hasn't got tracking software installed for opposite reason (to steal it and sell again)?
I know it might sound stupid, but I like to be prepared for the worst. So should I format the drive and install Lion again? What would you do?

I would never run a used Mac "as is"; there is too much potential for security violations or just software problems. I strongly recommend, unless you completely trust the person from whom you purchased the Mac, that you erase the hard drive and reinstal Mac OS X.  That way you start fresh, without any of the cruft that accumulates on any OS, and of course remove any potential for malware such as a keylogger.
    Regards.

  • How can I get Windows Internet explorer on my MacBook air?

I have several websites that I need to use for my new job that have not been tested for Mac. I don't want to have to buy a PC laptop, so I was wondering if there is a tried and true way to get windows Internet explorer on my MacBook air.

Or install Parallels 7 and then you can run IE just like any other app from within OS X itself. That costs around $50 plus the Windows license though.
Personally I have created an IE9 RDP (remote) App on my terminal server at work and just run that. Looks like it is running on my Mac natively.
