Please note:
You can sync iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad with only one iTunes library.
If you have synced with a different iTunes library in the past, the content in your current library will replace the content on your iPhone.

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
You may need to go back to your computer and re-download the ringtones. On iTunes on your iPhone, you should be able to select the purchases tab and find your ringtones. If not on your iPhone, then on your computer. Why don't you try that, and come back if you still have issues.

It obviously depends on what Mac you have.
Start by checking if you can run Snow Leopard:

When you have installed it, run Software Update to download and install the latest updates for Snow Leopard.
To use iCloud you have to upgrade at least to Lion, but some functions are only available in Mountain Lion:

You would have to sync them from your computer.
You only get one download. As always, it is your responsibility to back up your content.

Just to clarify, are you saying that now you can't send email at all, or just while connected to Wi-Fi? (To test this, just turn your Wi-Fi off and use your Cellular network instead to send an email).
I know you have deleted/created accounts, but when adding the SMTP server is that being resolved by the iPhone okay?

I had started using it for a few hours and tried getting the update and now it won't let me activate the phone. I also can't call the helpline because it won't let me leave this screen on the phone that says "Your iPhone could not be activated because the activation server is temporarily unavailable. Try connecting your iPhone to iTunes to activate it, or try again in a couple of minutes." What it says on iTunes after I fill out the activation info is "There was a problem activating your iPhone. Please contact Verizon Wireless at 1-800-922-0204 to have this iPhone added to your account. Click Continue to be able to explore its features and the App Store." Please help this is driving me nuts!

Audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store. So why doesn't Apple tell you that ICloud won't back up your ringtones? It states " Automatically bck up your camera roll, accounts, documents and settings when IPhone is plugged in, locked, and connected to WiFi" Nowhere does it state it doesn't back up ringtones. If it backs up my music, then why doesn't it back up ringtones? I had my ringtones on my ITunes, but when I updated that, they are gone too! If you have copies of them on your computer's iTunes then you should be able to - if they show in the Tones part of your iTunes library then you should be able to sync them to your new phone. Or do you not have copies of them on your computer nor on your backup of your library ?

Can't get email to start on new iphone 4s - stuck on the 'Welcome to Mail' screen, when I click on Google and enter my account details, then Next, it tells me 'This Gmail account has already been added to your iPhone.' Similarly for icloud. But that's all it lets me do. Help please

Instead I went to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars...tapped the Gmail account and found that the Mail button was switched off. Duh.

HT1766 getting a welcome to your new iphone message when I try to back up an old phone

My iPhone stopped working earlier this year and I got it replaced with a new one at the Apple store. I haven't backed it up since. So, I'm trying to back up from my iTunes now and it gives me two options: 1) Set up as new iPhone, and 2) Restore from this backup (MY NAME iPhone). The second option says last backed up 2/20/12. Thing is, I don't remember ever backing up this iPhone. More importantly, I've taken many pictures and added many phone numbers since 2/20/12 and am afraid restoring will erase this.
I've never been a savvy iPhone user so hopefully someone can help advise me on how best to proceed.

And I have some newer Apps that I would like to save.... these apps were free, but some of them are no longer available in the App Store.
Some other info.... after updgrading to iTunes 11, iTunes does show 50 Apps in the library. These appear to be apps from some much earlier sync prior to upgrading to iTunes 11.
My problem is I sync very rarely.... I also update my iOS very rarely.... and I also update the iTunes software very rarely. I got to a point where some newer apps I wanted would only run on a newer iOS. But it seems I got to a point where I could also no longer update my iOS without updating the iTunes version. So, my plan was to update to iTunes 11 (which I did), then update my iPhone iOS (which I haven't been able to accomplish yet), because I want to sync my iPhone with the new iTunes 11, to be able to get off my contacts and newer apps. But I can't to that because iTunes 11 will only show me the "Welome to Your New iPhone" screen.
Again, I'd like to get my contacts and newer apps off the phone into iTunes. If I then have to wipe the iPhone clean and restore, that would be OK.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
