Make sure you have the Current Version of iTunes Installed on your computer
iTunes free download from www.itunes.com/download
3: If the device doesn't appear in iTunes, try using the Steps in this article to force the device into Recovery Mode.
Note on Recovery Mode.
You may need to try this More than Once... Be sure to Follow ALL the Steps... -
Need to find out how to wipe my phone so that i can get onto it as my brother changed my password and i cant get onto my phone what so ever.
Then you'll have to force the phone into recovery mode and restore it. Turn your phone off:
Then, leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. -
My iPhone 4s Went black, i cant get anything to come up on the screen, i dont event hink its on. Is there a way to fix this without going to the store just yet?
No.
Click Support at the top of this page, then click Manuals.
Read the manual. Reset is in the basics section.
Hole the home and power buttons down at the same time until the Apple icon appears on the screen, ignoring the prompt to slide. -
Satellite A105-S4284 gets Blue Screen of Death when coming out of standby
MySatellite A105-S4284 runnings Windows XP gets a BSOD after coming out of standby or hibernation. With standby, I'll see the login screen where I enter my password, and then it may show the desktop background or even the open app (Outlook or Word, typically) for a second, afterwhich the BSOC appears. For weeks I was getting a black screen sporadically after standby. Researched the problem and saw recommendations to update BIOS. So I updated the BIOS to the latest version, and then I started getting blue screens of death rather than a black screen. Thought the problem was McAfee, because I'd get crashes right after McAfee became active in the background, sometimes without going into standby. Cancelled McAfee, took it off with the cleaner, used Avast instead, and that seemed to help. But then BSODs came back. I uninstalled non-essential software, clearned registry with CC Cleaner, freed up more HD space and defragged, ran SpyBot, etc - but I still get the BSOD almost every time I go into standby or hibernate.
The stop messages on the BSOD don't show a driver. and all begin with 0x0000007E (0x000000C5, ... and then differ after that. One recent one followed with 0x804E13D5, 0xAA6B9B8C, 0xAA6B9888). Does that mean anything?
I've installed Microsoft's debugging tools to look at the dumps after a BSOD. Here is output for two recent crashes. Doesn't point to a driver. NTKRMLMP.exe is what crashes - do I need to replace that from the I386 folder somehow? I did have my Matsu**bleep**a DVD-CD drive suddenly quit a time or two until the computer was restarted. Should I reinstall the DVD driver? Or the graphics driver? Worried that I might break something by doing that.

In a new account, the BSOD still occurs. I created a new account, logged out of my account, and went to the new one. Tried standby. It came out of standby for a second and then had the blue screen of death.
In checking the event manager, I seen errors shortly before crashes sometimes that involve the CD.
So I went to Toshiba.com and downloaded the DVD RAM driver and ran it, reinstalling the driver, and then restarted. I also saw that there was C-Dilla driver in my drivers. I uninstalled the SafeCast program that I think is associated with C-Dilla, moved the C-Dilla driver out of the drivers to a distant folder, unchecked C-Dilla in MSCONFIG so it won't load (it was still there after removing SafeCast), and then reinstarted. So with a new DVD Ram driver and neutering, I hope, of C-Dilla, I tried things again and the system appeared to be crash free - better than it had been. But then a crash occurred - BSOD - and upon restart, the CD locked up, and crashed again.
After restarting, there was a new dialog that popped up after Windows launched indicating that there had been an error with SONIC DLA. Before the crash, there was an event n the event viewer:
My last error comes from the Plug and Play Manager:
The device 'MAT**bleep**A DVD-RAM UJ-841S' (IDE\CdRomMAT**bleep**A_DVD-RAM_UJ-841S________________1.60____\5&226f6cf2&0&0.0.0) disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.
Hmmm. So things are still vulnerable. Any ideas? Buy new CD drive? Or new computer? -

Cant get full screen...
I am running a mac mini on an LG 42" plasma TV and have tried all the various screen resolutions. My problem is that I have videos which are 624x368 (close enough to accurate 16:9 widescreen video) and these display as a full frame image (no black bars) within the Quicktime viewer. However when i make it full screen Quicktime adds black bars to the top and bottom of the image, therefore squashing it. I assume it is doing this as the macmini thinks the LG TV is 4:3 and needs the black bars to look correct.
The only 16:9 resolution available on the macmini appear to be 1024x720 but this looks wrong on my TV and you lose the dock and menu bar. I have also tried 1920x1080, but the resolution is too high for the television and the text becomes illegible. So it would seem that the macmini knows it is in the wrong aspect for a widescreen tv and is compensating by adding the black bars top and bottom. But although the resolution is not correct it is fine for computing, and if I could fill the screen with the video image it would then be in the correct aspect.
So how can I get Quicktime to fill the screen and ignore the fact that the macmini thinks the tv is wrong?*Not sure if this will work. May depend on the model of the TV.*
When I am watching a movie either from a DVD or from the 52" screen non plasma TV itself that has those black bars (top & bottom) I just use Zoom mode to get rid of the bars. My picture is not distorted in any way.
On my 42" screen plasma TV, I use *Movie Theater* mode to get rid of the black bars. No picture distortion.
Check your TV manual. Should be some instructions in there for what you are trying to do. -
Although my photos will appear full screen in slideshow, they won't otherwise. I have selected show full screen in Preferences and tried the icon for full-screen- but no good. I ger a black screen with a small photo in the centre. Is this simply because the original photos were of a small size and can't be stretched to full screen?
I have today had to rebuild the i-photo library because of another problem (photos wouldn't load). That's now fixed. And, if it's relevant, most of the photos were transferred from my old i-book, although I have without problems imported photos from a camera to this machine and they behave in the same way - eg won't enlarge to full-screen.
imac(intel) Mac OS X (10.4.5) i-photo 6.0.2look down at the bottom of the screen/window. There are several icons. a + to add albums, an "i" to get info, etc. The last one is a screen with arrows pointing in on the corners - try clicking that.
Does that solve the problem?
Its a great view, and I didn't even know it existed.
Thanks!

Cant get higher screen resolutions ???
Hi all,
hope you can help...
I installed my new Ge4 Ti4200 last night. All works well but in display properties/settings the highest res. I can get is 1280x1024. This isn't right, i have a 20" LaCie monitor and have used the same one elsewhere at higher resolutions.
I dont think the problem is with the monitor driver as i have tried different monitor drivers and in any case, they all say 1600x1200 etc.. in the monitor.inf. My computer at work will go 2048x1536 and thats using the "default monitor" driver provided by microsoft. so thats not limiting it.
I can only think that when i installed the Geforce software and drivers, somehow it didn't talk to teh monitor properly and therefore limited teh available resolutions. I used to have a voodoo 3 and I know that they are notorrious for leaving old files in your system so maybe somehow old voodoo software has limited the resolutions that teh card will allow in teh display properties ?
any help would be appreciatedI do not know whether it helps, but I use Powerstrip .. very good software. It helps me to access monitor and video card settings easily. After installation and running this program it asks me whether I want Powerstrip to adjust resolutions that is allowed by my video card. After pressing yes I have rebooted PC. After that I could adjust screen resolutions in monitor settings up to 1600*1200 (used for plug and play default monitor). I notice that I use 15' monitor that support max resolution 1024*768 but PowerStrip allows me to change it up to 1600*1200. Of course I do not use resolutions higher than my monitor supports.
If you have no idea to solve your problem try this program. Maybe this one can help to access available resolutions correctly.
Here is the web page for PowerStrip: http://www.entechtaiwan.com -

This happens due to the configuration of the browser and the java installed.
First make sure the configuration in the browser are set correctly, pop up blocker disabled, lan setting do not prevent access to the discoverer server and son on...
Try to remove any java version he has on the computer and install a fresh new JRE.
