Make sure the volume slider in iTunes isn't all the way to the left.

first it is not good to use two different graphics vendors in one pc, because the driver uninstallers doesn't remove all values/files, so you will have a mixed up system.
Or do you use a backup image with a clean windows (no vendor graphic drivers) and revert back to it before switching the graphic card ?
Do you have updated DirectX 9 ?

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

You've given us little to go on , but have you spent some time looking at the Sound Panel within System Preferences and the preference settings for each program? I would assume that all of these combination of settings should be in the default mode, however, something may have become jumbled and reset to those original defaults.
If you have Applecare (doesn't everyone?), and continue to have a problem after further attempts to fix, give them a call and let them trouble shoot with you for a while. I do it all the time and it's actually fun and can also be a learning experience.

I have a 4G nano pod for the last 6 months but i did not use it for the last 3 months. Now I had trouble charging it - folder and exclamation point so i restored it back to its original factory settings. I later uploaded a playlist but I cant hear anything. I tried restoring my nano today and this is what happens - i cant figure out if its normal or not. 1) I run the latest update, hit restore and the apple logo with the progress bar appears 2)The restore process seems to have been completed. but instead of # After the restore is complete and the iPod is connected to the computer, the iTunes Setup Assistant window will appear asking you to name your iPod and choose your syncing preferences similar to when you connected your iPod for the first time# i see a Do Not Disconnect sign although I am pretty sure I dont need to charge the nano again. I have done so for the past 3 days. This sign lingers on..........
What are my options?

Hi Dan,
The the Connection Doctor from the Video menu in the menu bar says that the other end is sending Audio (Green bar) then you need to go to iChat > Preferences > Video Section and make sure you have chosen the right output device.
Also Check it matches the one in System Preferences > Sound > Output.

That doesnt work for me. I removed itunes through the windows cleaner method as shown in other posts and re-installed itunes. Now im getting this error
