I cant hear recorded audio

im trying to record some vocals onto logic express 8 through a Mbox2 mini. its connected fine, and can actually record but i cannot hear it back. because of the mini box i have had to attach external speakers and when recording i cana hear the click but nothing after that. i am a beginner at all this so if you have any ideas please help with very simple explanation.

i browsed that site but yet i didnt get the solution for my problem..
my problem is ..
i had done recording for 10 seconds without using rc.setRecordSizeLimit(int size), only i used rc.setRecordStream(output);.
if i tries to record for > 10 sec. without using rc.setRecordSizeLimit(int size) then java.lang.OutOfMemory exception comes.
but i want to record for more than 10 seconds. so i m using rc.setRecordSizeLimit(int size). after using it that exception doesnt come but i m unable to hear anything while playback.
so how to do the playback...?

Cant hear recorded sound

new to logic pro. i can record sound, signal seems to be coming through but i cant hear anything when i play the recorded part back.

Ok, you've installed the drivers for the MW12cx.

Under the support tab.
In Logic's Preferences/Audio you have the Output Device: and Input Device: set to the Yamaha MC (or whatever the driver calls it)
So far, so good?
Create a project with some Audio tracks or audio + MIDI + Instrument tracks
Plug something into channel one of the Mixer, a mic or instrument, however you were using it before.
According to the docs you should press REC OUT on channel one to send it out USB.
Make sure you are getting signal level on the audio track, it should be a mono audio track and should have either Input 1 or 2 selected (experiment) After you get signal on Logic's meter try recording somethnig.
I don't have the manual so I'm flying blind, you should have sound coming back through the mixer at this point, maybe you need to disengage REC Out on channels one, or maybe you need to see if playback audio "returns" on any of the other channels.

On My iphone 4s i cant hear the audio when i plug in my headphones

Ever since i got my iPhone 4s every time i plug my headphones into my phone and try to listen to music or a youtube video i can barely hear the sound at all even if the volume is all the way up. I don't know what to do. The same thing happened with the other i phone 4s i had before this. Can someone please tell me how to fix it.

If the audio volume is very low when using a headset, make sure you've tried all the steps from this article:

Inspect the headset jack for debris and clean if necessary.
Connect the headset and make sure the connector is pushed in all the way.
Check the volume setting. Adjust the volume by pressing the volume up and down button on the left side of the iPhone.
If you are trying to listen to music and cannot hear any audio, make sure that the music on iPhone is not paused. Try squeezing the headset microphone to resume playback. Additionally, from the Home screen you can choose iPod > Now Playing, then tap Play.
Make sure the latest version of iTunes is installed on the computer that you are syncing the iPhone with (songs purchased from the iTunes Store using earlier versions of iTunes won't play).
Try another Apple headset (some third-party headsets require an adapter to be used with original iPhone).
Try a different song or video.
Check to see if the iPhone alert sounds or other iPhone sound effects exhibit the same audio issues.
Disconnect the headset from the iPhone and see if sound comes from the built-in speaker.

I am not able to play any audio from any website that I open in Firefox For example. if I play a song from Youtube in firefox, I cant hear the audio, where as the same song can be played in Chrome/IE.

I am not able to play any audio in firefox. For ex, If I open a song from youtube, I am not able to listen to audio but same link in Chrome/IE works fine. Firefox '''used to be fine''' in my pc until someday '''it suddenly started behaving weird''' with no sound from any of websites, Facebook videos or any cnn videos etc. Its not the problem with hardware in my system. It looks like you may have solved your problem ... But for the benefit of others, after I'd tried the actions often offered on line regarding this problem (re audio applications, Garage Band, and Safari tweaks — without success, I deleted all QuickTime files from my computer (OS 10.4.11 Tiger) and then downloaded and reinstalled the applicable QuickTime application from the Apple Store.
I can't explain any of this — like why this loss-of-internet-audio problem suddenly appeared out of the blue on a computer with no prior problems — but at least it's fixed!

Try the following.
Download the relevant IDT Audio installer from the links below and save it to your Downloads folder.
IDT Audio Installer - Windows 7.
IDT Audio Installer - Windows 8.
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers. Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery. Hold down the Power button for 30 seconds. Re-insert the battery and plug in the AC Adapter.
Tap away at the esc key as you start the notebook to launch the Start-up Menu and then select f10 to enter the bios menu. Press f5 to load the defaults ( this is sometimes f9, but the menu at the bottom will show the correct key ), use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter. Press f10 to save the setting and again use the arrow keys to select 'Yes' and hit enter.
Let Windows fully load - it will automatically load an audio driver, but just let this complete. Then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation. When this has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices. Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.

Cant hear audio from dvd imported footage

I transformed some footage obtained on my camera to a dvd, and im working on it, but i cant hear the audio and when i pass it to the timeline doesnt appear any audio at all, when i view my clips on viewer i can hear the audio but not when working on it. The dvd works fine and seen at dvd player its all ok, the problem is working on final cut, im new but learning quickly and this is getting me on my nerves, please give me a solution.

Handbrake http://handbrake.fr/?article=download also works well, but I personally like MPStreamclip better.
I recommend outputting to DV or 100% quality quicktime H.264 so you don't loose any video quality. DV will probably encode a bit faster than quicktime, but will also take up more space.

Cant hear audio while capturing

When I capture video & audio, i cant hear the audio from my source. However, the audio is captured and embedded in the clip when i look at it after the capture.
Do i have to turn on some monitoring function of some sort maybe?
Im capturing with an Black Magic card via SDI Embedded Audio.
Maybe someone have a clue.

I've always been a believer in monitoring in the signal chain. Granted I don't work much with HDV-- but monitoring what is going into and out of the computer, rather than relying on the computer's built in audio seems to be the way to go. Then you know what's coming off the tape, and what's going back down to the tape.

Cant hear audio on phone

i get a message thats says this accessory is not made for the iphone and it asks me if i whant to turn on the airplane mode on to reducce audio interferance and then i cant hear the audio on the phone

The message to turn on Airplane mode comes up when the iPhone detects something attached to the dock connector, and doesn't detect it as being an accessory that is made to the "Works with iPhone" standards. It can also come up when the iPhone detects certain kinds of interference.
In your case if there is nothing attached to the dock connector, it could be debris such as pocket lint, moisture, corrosion, or the dock connector port on your iPhone has a defect.

Problem hearing the audio

I just re opened garage band on my desktop from it being minimized.
I had listened to what i recorded, and then simply moved my laptop a few feet from where it was at,
and now i cant hear any audio comming out of garage band.
it shows the levels moving, so i know it's playing and recording..
i just cant hear a thing.
and other programs will play so i know it's not the volume.
does anyone have any idea what this could be?

both of those are fine.
i dont think it has anything to do with it, but i had bumped my chord with the attachment going into my laptop and it kind of bent the part going in..
but that still works..to record n stuff, because i see the bars moving.
and after that the sound quit working.

Hearing the audio through the headset

Right, i have had this problem for ages, i like to play online games on my laptop and talk on skype. Whenever i plug in my headphones i can hear the game volume but if i go on skype the game audio will come out of my laptop and the skype will come through the headset and i cant hear both audios through my headset help?????

Sometimes Windows sets one device as the communications device (ex. for Skype), and another to the normal audio device.
To change this, right click on the volume control icon right beside the clock, and click Playback Devices. You should see a list of different audio devices, for example "Headphones" and "Speakers" or something like that. Anyways, pick the device you want, for example your headset/headphones, right click on it, and click "Set as Default Device". Right click on it again, and click "Set as Default Communications Device". This way, all audio will be routed only through that device that you've picked.

Cant hear track plugins in play or record?

I am running Logic pro 9.
I can select plugins for tracks OK.
When I select play or record I cant hear the plugins?

Are you talking about instruments on an instrument track (e.g. EXS24), and when you play or record via your MIDI keyboard you are not hearing anything?
Or are you talking about effect plugins on an audio track and you're not hearing the processing?
Are you getting any sound out of Logic at all?
Need a bit more info here...

Cant hear song playback while recording with external USB Interface Mic in Garageband

There must be something wrong with my settings in Gargaeband/Mac Sound Settings.
I have Garageband 9 (V5.1) running a song I have already recorded using a USB keyboard.
I want to record using my external mic and my USB Audio Interface, so
I select New Track> Real Instrument
I plug in my Yamaha Audiogram 3 USB AUdio Interface and I get a pop up stating
"Garageband is scanning your system for audio devices, and has detected a device named "USB Audio Codec"
If you want to use this device do not disconnect it during the scanning process.
Do you want to use this devise No/Yes."
I select Yes and INPUT SOURCE changes from
Mono 1 (Built-in Microphone)
to
Mono 1 (USB Audio CODEC)
I can see the signal lights lighting up on the audiogram 3 when I talk into the mic, so theres no problem there.
Also when I hit record I can record audio using the mic, and can see the levels (and the audio wave I am creating being drawn on the screen) but I cannot hear the track itself when I am recording using the mic. Nor can I hear the track or the new mic recorded audio AFTER I have hit stop.
The only way to hear the song again with the newly recorded mic track is to unplug the Audiogram 3 (Then I get another Pop-up stating
"The audio device "USB Audio CODEC" has been disconnected!
Do you want to switch to Built-in Audio or quit Garageband?"
I select USE BUILT-IN AUDIO)
Then the input source changes back to
Mono 1 (Built-in Microphone)
And I can hear the track again.
So my problem as you can see if that I cant hear the track while recording using the microphone with the Audiogram 3.
But I can record video with audio using the audiogram 3 USB Audio Inteface and mic using photobooth when I select change Sound>Input to USB Audio Codec in system preferences
It therefore assume it must be a problem with the internal audio settings of the mac/garageband.
Can anyone advise?

In order to hear yourself while you are recording, you need to set Monitor to "ON" under the Track Info panel.
Also, what are your sound output settings? It sounds like you haven't selected the right output source.
If your speakers or headphones are plugged into your audio interface, then you need to go into Preferences -> Audio/MIDI and select your audio interface under Output as well as Input. If your speakers or headphones are built-in or plugged directly into your computer, then you need to select Built-In under Output.
I have a sneaky feeling that you are in the latter scenario, and that when you plug in your audio interface Garageband is automatically switching both Input and Output over to your interface, which means no sound output as long as the interface is plugged in.
