I cant live without my ipod and now itunes is bein weird

i just put a cd onto itunes (ive done it before) and wen i synced the songs to my ipod itunes only put half my songs from my library on my ipod. I tried everything.

What does "everything" consist of?
What happens when you try to play the songs in iTunes?
How do you normally put songs onto the iPod (automatic sync, manual sync, etc)

  • I did an update today to my itunes WITHOUT my ipod and now itunes won't open.  The error message says it is corrupted.

I did an APPLE update today and now my itunes will not open.  It give an error message of corrupted.   What can I do to open it??  The message was still he same when I plugged in my ipod.  This happens with almost every update.  Thanks.

See Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates. Use the steps in the second box to repair your iTunes installation. Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Itunes deleted all music on Ipod and now Itunes won't respond to it.

I plugged my ipod into itunes, for no apparent reason all my music was then deleted off my ipod, and now it wont respond when i plug it back in so i can't sync it, the screen goes grey with the apple sign.

You are not alone, exactly the same happened here to our ipod classic and we really need to know why this is and what to do. Is it an itunes update glitch? Is it the harddrive?

  • I changed the drive letter on my iPod and now iTunes won't recognize it!

Help please! I contacted an Apple associate and they told me to change the drive letter of my iPod in My Computer. I did that and now iTunes won't recognize my iPod at all and I can't change the drive letter back to the original one. What do I do?

Try Resetting Your iPod while it's connected to the computer.
Hold down the Menu and Select buttons until you see the Apple logo (or Menu & Play/Pause in older models).
This will often get it recognized. It may take several attempts.
Try closing and re-starting iTunes. There have been cases where iTunes refuses to see an iPod, but after re-starting, it works again.
Also try re-booting the entire computer. Especially if the PC has been operating for a long time &/or many programs have been opened and closed, repeatedly.
Other USB connected peripherals may be the cause as well. Try removing all connected USB items and attaching the iPod. If you have a USB keyboard, it may be worth a try using the adapter to convert it to non-USB. If the iPod connects, continue plugging things back in until you have the problem return. You may have then isolated the issue. Sometimes it could be a printer, camera, Flash Card reader, or other attached device causing a conflict.

  • Windows disk-scanned my iPod and now iTunes can't recognize it.

I have a 80gb iPod classic with version 1.1.2 PC installed. Yesterday when I was booting my computer up, Windows decided it needed to check one of my disks for consistency (no points for guessing what "disk"). It gave me the message Unrecoverable error in folder \iPod_Control\Music\F00. It then converted that folder to a file, and then did a lot of chain cross-linking and orphan-truncating. The upshot of this is, now my iTunes can't find the iPod when I plug it in. I've done everything the support base file said on when Windows recognizes the iPod and iTunes doesn't, and nothing's changed. Should I just try to recreate the missing folder? Rest assured, first thing I'm doing once I can get iTunes and the iPod talking to each other again is a full restore. Any help would be fantastic.

Took my own advice and created a new F00 folder. Upon reconnecting, iTunes recognized it instantly. Restore is already underway. Thanks for listening anyway.

  • I added a new iPod and now iTunes won't recognize my old iPod

My old iPod's battery is just about dead. It is about three years old; I will send it to Apple for a new battery.
In the meantime, I bought a new 5th generation iPod, 60 GB. It's great! Eventually the old iPod will be my work iPid and the new one wil be the home and recreation iPod.
Here's the problem. I researched using two iPods from the same copy of iTunes. In response to my questions in this forum, someone referred me to the article at http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300432, "How to use multiple iPods with one computer", which I read, and which supported the idea that you can work with two iPods from one copy of iTunes.
My goal, then, was to follow Method Two as described in the article, and use two iPods from my one computer, without setting up separate user accounts for each one.
So -- I plopped in the CD that came with the new iPod, installed the latest iTunes. It had me register the new iPod by serial number.
In my copy of iTunes, my old iPod was called "Mae Sot's iPod". I set up the new iPod as "Mae Sot's New iPod".
I thought that from now on, when I plugged in my old iPod, iTunes would be able to recognize it, and when I plugged in the new one, iTunes would recognize it.
    Wrong.
My copy of iTunes does great now in working with the new Ipod. But it totally rejects the old one.
When I plus in the old iPod to synch/recharge, I first get the Windows message in the lower right part of the screen with the headline, "USB device is not recognized", telling me that "One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows does not recognize it..."
The first time this happened, that message eventually went away, iTunes launched, and I got an error message saying there was no folder for the device.
Now when I plug in the old iPod, I just get the "USB device is not recognized..." message, and iTunes does not launch.
Any idea what is the problem?
My goal is to get iTunes to add my old iPod as a recognized device, so that I can clean the music off it and send it to Apple for a new battery.

    iPod     Windows
    iPod     Windows

    iDevices are not backup devices.
Copy the ENTIRE iTunes folder from the old computer to the new computer.

  • I installed lion without software updating and now itunes doesn't work and my computer crashes when loading photobooth?

I didn't bother to install the software updates my computer needed to do.  It said something about prepping for lion,  but I thought if I installed lion it wasn't neccesary.  Now seeing as I have all these bugs,  I feel like that was a mistake.  I also did not bother to make a time machine thing to go back on,  or any copy of my snow leopard hard drive.  Is my only option now to make a clean install of snow leopard with the cd and wipe everything,  then install lion again?
I tried using command R on startup to reinstall lion,  but it says my disks are locked.

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

when i updated my ipod and got i cloud recent photos disapeared off my ipod and now i cant find them. where are they?

You should ALWAYS make sure that everything is on your computer and backed up, most especially before any update. The iphone is designed to be synced to your computer regularly.
If you have failed to do this, then you need to redownload:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • HT1212 i changed my password to get into my ipod and now it says ipod is disabled connect to itunes i cant get pass that .... can you help me re boot my ipod?

i forgot my password to sign on my ipod and now it says ipod is disabled please connect to itunes. however, it wont letme pass that screen. how do i reboot this ipod?

    Disabled
Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased.
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
    iOS: How to back up
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store

  • I had to restore my iPod and now none of the songs want to play.

I had to restore my iPod and now none of the songs want to play. I press play, it goes to the song screen, then around 5 seconds pass without the song starting and then it skips to the next song where the same thing happens. And that just keeps happening over and over and over again. Also when I plug in the iPod, the pinwheel shows up on iTunes for a while and then the 13010 error message pops up but the iPod still shows up in iTunes. I'm so lost. Please help!
