This problem has been fixed. I rebooted my laptop after clearing my Firefox cache and deleting all cookies. Once my laptop was rebooted, I opened Firefox and now I can access the regular YouTube site, not the mobile site.

You can check for problems caused by recent Flash updates and try these:
*disable protected mode in Flash 11.3 and later
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

You may want to check to make sure the clip hasn't been moved back and forth between wide screen and standard aspect ratios; sometimes a combination of letterboxing and pillarboxing can lead to a black frame "windowbox" when playing the final video. You may find the following article helpful:

I used to watch HD videos on youtube thru safari but since i updated my iphone 4 to ios 4.0.2 It doesnt give me the option anymore and i ask why is that? I do not care about iphone playing flash player but let us watch HD videos on youtube please thats all i ask for, i really love my iphone 4.

You can try HTML 5 YouTube by going to YouTube.com and view it there. Note that YouTube iPhone degrades the quality based on your cellular signal.
If you are on WiFi it would have the highest quality. If you have one bar 3G, it would go to the lowest quality. HQ/HD quality may be available on 5 bar 3G, but note that it requires a much higher data usage than WiFi HD.

How do get a 3GB video on youtube with the best quality?

I'd like to upload my 8 min, 3GB, 960x720 movie from FCP 7 to youtube. I tried Quicktime Conversion format (mpeg4, h264, etc) but it always squahes the image to 4:3. If I output directly to Quicktime Movie the ratio is correct but then it's too big to load to Youtube.
I'm not too terribly bright and have been struggling with this for a while. I've seen some great looking video on youtube but can't figure out how to get my videos to look half way decent.

Try this: Export as QT Movie. Open Compressor. File>New Batch from Template; Choose your 8 min movie as source: choose the You Tube preset. Publish.

When I closde a page where there has been a video, ie youtube or the like, the sound from that video that had played will continuw to run. I can close Firefox and upload it again and still will the sound of the video continuew to run. WHY?

When I close a youtube video or some other video and even after closing the tab the sound from the video continue to be played. As a matter of fact I have even closed Firefox and re-started Firefox and it plays again. I even went and turned off the computer and re-started the computer and then Firexox and the video sound was still there playing. WHY is this happening???.

Most YouTube content requires the Flash plugin. Sometimes it's necessary to uninstall then reinstall that plugin.
Uninstall the Flash plugin then reinstall new > Troubleshoot Flash Player | Mac OS
Very important to uninstall the currently installed plugin first.
Now launch Safari and try a video.
If you have the ClickToFlash extension installed, that can prevent Flash based video from streaming. It can also be installed as a plugin in /Library/Internet-Plug-Ins.
And check to see if Safari is running in 32 bit mode. Right or control click the Safari icon in your Applications folder then click Get Info. If the box next to: Open in 32 bit mode is selected, deselect, quit then relaunch Safari.
You may also need to delete the cache associated with Safari .
Open the Finder. From the Finder menu bar click Go > Go to Folder
Type or copy/paste: ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.Safari
Click Go the move the Cache.db file from the com.apple.Safari folder to the Trash.
Quit and relaunch Safari. Try a video.

When watching a video on youtube, if the monitor blanks for power saving, when it resumes, the video area is green (not refreshed) but the sound keeps playing.

Steps:
1. Video is correctly playing on youtube
2. Since I'm just watching and not pressing any key or moving the mouse, the display will blank for power saving after some minutes
3. I move the mouse to wake it
4. The video area is solid green, while the sound continues playing
5. If I switch tasks, the area from the other task gets painted over the video area, it seems like the video are is never refreshed after the suspend/wake

I have Hughesnet with limited bandwidth and even with adblock plus websites start flash videos now - how can I stop the videos from loading when the web page loads

Hughesnet only allows us to use an allotted amount of download. If I use tabs on Firefox, some pages start their bandwidth eating flash yada yada and waste my allotment. I'd like to have Firefox default to NOT loading flash unless I do something to say OK. Adblock plus helps eliminate flash ads, but not page content that is in flash.

Why do the site identity buttons not look like what you are showing on the information page?

Just read the email about security from Firefox. I do have the identity button show up in a color, but I do not get the passport officer, nor do I get the information in the drop-down window. All I get is "Verified by: ... or "This site does not supply identity information."

On Windows, you can switch between a classic menu bar and a compact menu opened with an orange button with the word Firefox.
You can switch between these using one of these methods:
* right-click a blank area of the tab bar and turn Menu Bar on or off
* View menu > Toolbars > Menu Bar
* orange Firefox button > Options triangle > Menu Bar

To remove the Ask toolbar, you can go here:

You might still have to do a little cleanup after removing an extension, if it changed your home page, new tab page, search provider, etc. Please describe any remaining problems in more detail.

Why can't I watch HD videos on youtube on my iPhone 5?

I want to apologize if this has been asked before but I just couldn't find a thread that had this discussion. I just realized the other day that I cannot watch HD videos on youtube on the iPhone 5. My friend just got a Galaxy S3 and we were comparing the playback quality and there is a huge difference. Both of us were connected to a wifi network and we chose the same exact video and on the Galaxy S3, it tells you that its playing the HD version of the video whereas on the iPhone 5, it by default was playing the low quality version and there was no way for me to choose the HD version. So my question is, can the iPhone 5 play HD video on youtube at all? Is there an option that I need to select for it to do that?

Jasmine has settings to control the video quality. The YouTube app doesn't give you any control.
Neither of these apps are from Apple. The YouTube app is from Google, and as the maker of Android, they have no particular interest in making the iPhone look good.

if Im not mistaken its the same as the other versions...you shoot the video, go to the video and press the small arrow with box around it in the left corner and it will say send to youtube...you will then be prompted with instructions...if it says unable to send to youtube make sure your email address is verified in your youtube account...you will have to do this from the actual youtube site...i had this problem for months before i realized i just had to verify my email address. Hope this helps...
