I cant move my song order inside a playlist anymore

I tried the two most suggested fixes (turning off shuffle and clicking on the first column) but nothing works and now all my playlists are not allowing me to change the order of the songs
Help!
Thanks

I had this same problem. Most likely, its the fact that your playlist may be set to a shuffle setting. Open your playlist and look in the bottom left-hand corner to see if your shuffle icon is blue (on.) If it is, click it so it turns gray (off.) If that does not allow you to reorder your songs, make sure that you are not sorting the songs by artist, album, year, etc. If all of those things are correct but you still cannot order them properly, then you might have a problem unrelated to your iTunes (like a bad computer virus or something.)

  • Sorting songs order in a playlist

    Hi
I can't drag and drop songs to set the order of the tracks inside the playlist
    Shuffle button is turned of
    Thanks

Thats more than likely because they are being ordered by a certain way already. Go to the top and see which collumn is darkened and has a small arrow on it. Right click it and deselect that colllumn from the list.
You should now be able to move the order yourself. You may want to add the collumn again so you can see those details.

  • Song order rearranges in playlists

I listen to music on my iPhone 4 (6.1.3 - not enough space to upgrade to ios7) when working out and traveling.  Recently I tried to change the order of songs in a couple of playlists and add new songs and the changes won't keep.  For instance when editing the playlist, if I move a song from the bottom of the playlist to somewhere in the middle when I hit done the song i moved will disappear from where I had it back to the bottom of the list and another song from the bottom will take that spot.
I have tried moving songs in several playlists and the same thing happens.  I will edit the order in the playlist to be what I want but as soon as I hit done it either reverts to the way it was or songs will just be in random spots.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, while the playlist in iTunes and the playlist on the iPhone, as it appears in iTunes, match, the problem is that the iPhone seems to be stripping the instruction to order the songs randomly.  That instruction is given in the 'limit to 30 GB selected by random' line.  The list on the iPhone is in order from least recently played to most recently played.  The highlighted column in the playlist is the leftmost 'number' column not the Last Played column.  Any clues hiding out there?

  • How to make a CD Jacket and print out Song order directly from playlist

I was wondering if there was a way to make a CD Jacket with artwork from songs selected and also how to make a same size sheet to fit in the CD holder that has the exact song order and titles by printing out directly from your playlist.
I am not sure I worded that right but hopefully you will know what I mean.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks

There is a pretty basic CD insert that you can print from iTunes, if I remember correctly it will print whatever artwork is attached to the first song in the playlist.
Open iTunes, highlight the playlist in question, go to File>Print and choose the CD Jewel Caser Insert radio button. Theres also a little Theme menu.
However you can get much more flexibility from a dedicated CD Cover program. I use Cover Star, it's inexpensive and makes good quality CD booklets, back covers and disc overlays. It will generated artwork for you or you can drag your own picture files to it. You can download a trial version from this link: http://autostylus.com/coverstar.html. It's fully functional apart from printing so you can play around with it and save the inserts until you decide if it's for you. Purchasing a license then releases the final function and anything you saved previously can be printed off.

  • How do I edit the song order in a playlist?

can you move songs around in an established playlist or do you just have to start over?

You can click and drag them into a desired order in iTunes and then sync the updated changes to your iPod.  It's not possible to do this directly on the iPod itself.

  • Song order on ipod playlist problem.

I just got a new Ipod (30G) and I just finished putting 1000+ songs on it, it was hard work but i finally got it. Yet I found out that my ipod is doing to the same things my other one was doing, Instead of sorting the songs in Alphabetical order by Artist in my playlist, it will only sort it by the date added instead.
I put my songs manually instead of syncing and Im not about to reorganize all my songs on Itunes for this problem.
Is there anyone who can help me?
    Thanks.
      Windows XP

If you go into iTunes, select the playlist then right click and pick "Copy To Playorder" it will leave the order the way it is. I think it transfers that way to the iPod as well. Not sure how Manually syncing effects that, but you may need to redrag the playlist over to the iPod for it to take effect. Try it on a small playlist first and see if it works.

  • How do I change the song order of a playlist.  I used to be able to click and drag to a new order.

How do I change the order of songs in a playlist.  I used to be able to click and drag to the new location, but can't now.

Ricardo, It changed in iTunes 11.
With the playlist open, click on the View menu, View Options, and then set the "Sort By" field to "Manual Order."  Then you can drag songs up or down.
If you don't see the View menu, you may have your Menu bar hidden.  In that case, unhide it first, by using CTRL-B.

  • Organizing song order in a playlist

I made a few playlists on my ipod touch but i'd like to place the songs in a particular order. I have it set to organize in alphabetical on iTunes, but i'd like to set up a certain order on my iPod touch. How do i do this?
    Thanks

ok i got it to rearrange the order in iTunes, but is there a way to get the playlist to change so it is in the same order on iTunes as on my iPod? the playlist was already on my iPod previous to changing the order but i'd like it to be in my new order. I hope that makes sense.
    Thanks again

  • Unable to move a song in itunes to playlist--help, please

I just tried to drag and drop a new song into a pre-existing playlist, and it wouldn't work. I then tried moving any song into any playlist and it doesn't work either. I haven't tried to do this recently, so I'm not sure how long it's been this way. I'm wondering if this might relate to either iphone OS 3 or the current itunes version updates. Also, I'm not able to right-click on the song and pick "add to playlist" from the drop-down menu. Thanks for any suggestions!

I just restarted my Mac Book and now I am able to move songs to playlists at will (I had "quit" itunes twice while trying to resolve the problem, which hadn't worked). Yeah!!

  • Why can the song order in some playlists be rearranged and other can not?

I have several playlists, both drag-n-drop and smart albums. But on only some of the drag-n-drop lists, can I rearrange the playlist while others I can not. Any ideas?

These two condions must be true for a playlist to arrange the tracks:
    1) Shuffle setting must be off
    2) Sorting order must be set on the very first column (with the numbers)
    Hope this helps.

  • I can't play any songs compiled in my playlist anymore.

I created playlists for favourite radio stations. Now none of them play anymore. If I add a new one, it plays. What happened to the previous ones?

Same problem Windows XP.  Just recently radio stations in my playlist will not play.  If I go thru all the Radio lists I can get them to play fine but playlist refuses to play any station

  • Playlist Song Order Chan

Searched the Forum at length for the answer but didn't find it. Sorry if I missed it. On my Zen Xtra I can see the Playlist in the right pane (in Organizer), select a song, left click hold, and drag it up or down, and it moves. It also works with arranging song order on the playlists on my PC and Zen Micro (when viewed in right pane). This does NOT work with my Vision M. Am I missing something or is that the way it is? Thanks.

Use the Zen Media Explorer for your player to edit the playlist. Open the player using that application choose edit playlist & change the order there. When done click Ok/Save (can;t remember which one it says ) & that should be all you can also add songs this way. However the playlist must have been created using the Creative software. It will not edit a playlist created with Windows Media Player.

  • The Song order in my AppleTV playlists

The song order within my playlists on my AppleTV are in the reverse order from those on my computer. How can I get them to be the same?

The easy answer is to reverse the song list in itunes, just click on the heading 'name' in the itunes window.
I somehow suspect that you want the list on the tv to be the same as itunes and not itunes to be the same as the tv though, unfortunately the listing on the tv is set by default so you cannot do this.

  • Changing song order on ipod

I changed the song order in a playlist in itunes, deleted all the songs from the list in the ipod, then put the songs back on the playlist on the ipod. It still puts them back in the wrong order. Is there an easier way to do this?

Never mind, I think it did put them in the right order.
