I cant open my email account with yahoo on my mac but i can through safari
i can not open my mail through my mail on the computer it says my password is not right but when i sign on through safari and yahoo it comes right up > ive had this issue for a while and now its just frustrating
To find out if it's system wide or user specific, try this...
Open System Preferences>Users & Groups, unlock the lock, click on the little plus icon, make a new admin account, log out & into the new account.
Does it work in the new account?

I repeat: I established an email account with Yahoo.com. I prepared my new address book, have sent several emails to friends, changing my email address. NOW, I can't open my Yahoo email, I get a message that to make Yahoo work with Firefix, I must download Javascript. But the directions to download aren't complete. Do you have someone I can talk with since it appears to be a compatibility problem between Yahoo & Firefox? My old email address (still working): [email protected])

Hi. I cant open my icloud account coz i forgotten my password and my icloud and apple i.d have different account and the worst is i just only make an icloud id with no email add....i cant activate my iphone 5 now because of that.what will i do?thanks
Welcome to the Apple community.
If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact Apple ID Support, upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do. -
I had connected my yahoo email account with my apple email and now wish to disconnect this link. How do I do this?
Open Mail preferences and delete the account. This only removes it from the Mail app and doesn't close out the service.

I need help! I no longer have access to the email that I opened my icloud account with many years ago and I can't remember my password anyway! However it continues to backup all my stuff. But I have no access to go in and delete items or manage my account. The pop-ups now tell me that my account is full and it will no longer be able to backup items. I would like to go in and delete items that I do not need to make room, but I can't! I have personally gone into the Apple genius store and presented the problem as well as called Apple support and talked with a live person. And no one has been able to help me. I cannot believe that I have basically lost my iCloud accessibility? I have a lot of money vested in music and priceless pictures! Please can someone help me?
I don't know what you mean by "closed" - icloud accounts stay in existence even if you disconnect all devices from the account. You can't delete them.
If you don't recall the ID or the password, and if the link above doesn't provide another way to get to the account, then you are out of luck. -
How to Setup a BT Yahoo email account with Outlook...
On Add Account Auto Account Setup Complete the information that is being asked for, when completed select Manual setup or additional server types, then click Next
On Add Account POP and IMAP Account Settings.
Complete user information that is being asked for, make sure that POP3 is selected in Account Type.
Under Logon Information User Name is your eMail address not your name as it used to be, complete this section with your Password. In The Deliver new messages to either use New Outlook Data File, if you have an Existing Outlook Data File select this option and browse to find its location on your Computer. When completed press Next.
In Internet E-mail settings -Outgoing Server tick the box against My outgoing server (STMP) requires authentication. Use the Test the account Settings and that's it DONE

(Or even Yahoo.) When I open my email account thru Firefox, there is a blinking message in my task bar stating that "lorainemihiril" sent me a message. I DO NOT know this person, I can't make it go away and I NEVER use instant messaging. How do I get rid of this??? Sometimes there is more than one of these flashing messages all with the same name.
Disable Yahoo Messenger in your Yahoo Mail account.
Use the arrow on the right of your account name to go offline or sign out.

Can you use any email account with iChat?
It appears that iChat allows you to add other other email accounts other than AOL or MobileMe but can you chat using these accounts and can you screen share etc with non MobileMe users?

The answer is yes but your question is wrong.
The AIM page for Registration now allows you to use any Email ID as a Screen Name.
AIM has long done this for the Apple IDs of [email protected] and the MobileMe type email IDs of [email protected]
They have also done it for other ISPs in the past as well
More recently I have had someone test with me having used a Hotmail ID in the AIM Registration process.
Jabber IDs look like email IDs and in the case of the GoogleTalk option they can be.
As long as the Screen Name works in one of your Buddy lists it will be valid And if they are an iChat user with iChat 4 or above then they will be able to Screen Share.
NOTES:
Screen Sharing in iChat uses a Random port so any router or modem that routes need to be able to use UPnP or Port Mapping Protocol to open the ports or it will not work.

How I open default email editor with attachment. Now I can just open the email editor with mailto,subject,body BUT i cant open it with a attachment, which is in a server.

It sounds like you’re running into an Apple ID password issue on your iPod touch, and you’ve created another account which you weren’t able to verify because you didn’t receive the verification email.
Try resetting the Apple ID password for the account that’s already on your iPod touch as shown here:

i have four different email accounts (two yahoo, one gmail and one mac.com) - will these all sync once I move to the iCloud?

Only iCloud mail works with iCloud.
The syncing that occurs between a mail account on different devices, occurs because the account is an IMAP account. If you change or update your other accounts to IMAP accounts, they will behave the same way as your iCloud account. -

I cloned my first generation MacBook Pro to a new and very hot 3.06 dual core.
I have three mail accounts on Apple Mail 4.1 running on OS 10.6.1. I changed port 25 on SMTP to port 587 as required.
The two accounts with mailboxes on the Mac, Verizon and Yahoo! Plus, can't receive mail. They turn grey and show that little dinky sign. Connection doctor doesn't specifically tell me what's going on, either.
I'd love to have a way to check the POP server and it number, but I can't do that with Apple Mail.
I've taken out and re-created both accounts. I have a lot of email filters and don't want to lose them. I suppose the next thing to do is trash the ~Mail folder bug hold on to the filters. The geniuses at the local Apple outlet say it's something which must be fixed here at my home address.
Verizon is my major account, by far. I have made the required changes on the SMTP port from 25 to 587. I sure wish I could check the POP ports and their numbers on Apple Mail.

Says who? Of course you can check this; if you couldn't then you also couldn't enter those port numbers, which would make no sense at all.
*For Incoming Verizon:*
POP server name is incoming.verizon.net
POP port number is: 110
Verizon does not support SSL, but does require Password Authentication.
You can see both of these in the Advanced tab of Preferences > Accounts
*For Outgoing Verizon:*
SMTP server name is outgoing.verizon.net
SMTP port number is 25
No SSL, but Password Authentication is required.
You can view these in the Account Information tab in Preferences > Accounts
*Incoming Yahoo! Mail Plus:*
POP server is plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com
POP Port number is 995
Check SSL and Pasword Authentication
*Outgoing Yahoo! Mail Plus:*
SMTP server is plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com
SMTP Port number is 465
Check SSL and Pasword Authentication
Test it by sending email from each account to the other. -
