If I'm correct, as long as someone is logged into your Apple ID, they can receive your messages. If you think someone else is using your Apple ID, change your password.

Receiving iMessages to my phone number

Does iMessage receive messages sent to my phone number? I thought it did but don't see how to set it up.....Or was that only in iOS6?

Are they saying that if you receive an iMessage from somebody else and they sent it to your mobile number, iMessage Mac will pick it up?
Currently I can only receive iMessages that others send to my email address.

there`re some tipps to be able to receive on an iPad imessages sent to tne mobile number. But they don't work with iOS 7.04. I would like to have conversations sent to my mobile phone number on the iPad as I have them on my iMac. Any solution?

I am a new Iphone user,I got an Iphone4s in UK.I have added a contact of a friend of mine who also have an Iphone 4s and his contact have his mobile number and appleid. When trying to Imessage him.Its showing whether to send through number or appleid(his e-mail) and I picked his number,Its sending message as normal text instead of Imessage? Any idea why. Is it to do with setting ins my phone or his?

I am not receiving imessages to my phone number

Since moving to iOS 6 I have found that other iphone users are unable to send an iMessage to my phone number. If a message is sent to my email address, it appears on all my divices. If sent to my phone number, it goes nowhere so I am receiving SMS messages from other iphone users or their send is failing altogether. Even though I have set it up on my ipad to do so, iMessages sent to my phone number aren't coming up there either. I have tried a hard reset of the phone and turning imessage off, then on again.

Hi I just got my iPhone 4s on Christmas and it was fine then a few months later I could not receive messages at all or open my apps without them cutting off on me and I told the people where I got my phone from and they said that they will figure it out and fix it but it didn't work and now I am still wondering why I cant receive messages or open apps. Why can't I send or receive iMessages from one person but I can from all my other friends?

It sounds like your or your friend had gotten hit by the "iMessage bug" that Apple has confirmed. They state it is only impacting a fraction of a percent of the iPhone users (which means it could be over 90,000 iphone users since 9 million were sold recently). I would have both you and yoru friend restart your iPhones (hold the home and sleep/wake buttons until the Apple logo appears - it shoudl take about 10-20 seconds) then wait for the iPhone to restart and try sending an iMessage again.

ipads don't support sending sms's at all
they do however support sending imessage chat which is send over the internet rather then the phone net
only other ios devices support recieving imessage messages
