I cant receive or send an iMessage at random times?

So, almost every couple days, my iMessage wont send or recieve any messages. The loading/sending bar loads all the way except the last little bit, then I know I won't be getting any messages for a while. This usually last around 12-24 hours. Then I recieve all the messages sent to me in that period of time all at once. This is extremely incovenient, because I use it not only for personal conversations but also homework and things like that. This started probably about half a year ago (Ive had it for a couple years) and its gotten worse over time. Can anyone identify or help?? Thanks.

Sure sounds like a network problem. Does this happen when connect to only one network?
Could be a general network problem too that is beyond your control.

  • Cant receive or send picture messages

Hi can someone please help me, I have recently bought the Nokia C3 and I cant receive or send picture messages, can someone please advise.  Thanks

You need to contact ur operator and ask them to send u MMS & wap and internet settings (Or only MMS), u'll most probably get them via configuration sms, open it, go to options and select "save" phone will ask if to set it as default, select yes. that's it. Try to send Picture message.

  • Cant receive or send emails with iphone4s

i have been fighting with my phone since i got it.  previously had a 3s and entered the settings identically several times with no luck.  i did some tests today and i found that i cant receive emails when i am connected to wifi.  I wonder if i can send/receive when wifi is turned on but not connected?

Delete the account on your iPad and set it up again. This is a currently a common problem with Yahoo accounts.

  • Upgraded to 10.4.9 now cant receive or send emails using Mail.app

I just upgraded to 10.4.9 from 10.2.8 and now the new Mail.app(v2.1) can't receive or send emails.
"Sent" emails only get to the Outbox for trying again later.
"Get Mail" is answered after 20 seconds with an error stating among other things "The attempt to read data from the server "xxx.xxx.xx.x" failed"
I connect to the internet through ethernet which is connected to my work's server setup. Ethernet is at the top of the list of the Network Config Options.
Tried removing the Mail preference file and reentering settings - after settings added, says the server cannot be found.
It's a Mail.app issue as accessing the web is no problem, sending and receiving mail using Eudora and Thunderbird is no problem.
The problem occurred after I went to 10.4.9 as I received an email in the short time I was on 10.4.6.
Tried reinstalling Mail from install disk but it didn't want to install an older version of the program it seems.
    Any advice would be appreciated.
    PowerMac G5 1.8Ghz Uniprocessor   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Mac OS X 10.4.7 introduced connection issues in Mail similar to what you’re observing as a result of (according to the documentation) “Mail now supports connecting to mail servers through a SOCKS proxy”. If that’s the problem, it can usually be fixed by going to System Preferences > Network, choosing the network port configuration used to connect to Internet from the Show popup menu and disabling the SOCKS Proxy in the Proxies section, if it’s enabled.
And while you’re at it, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.

  • Cant receive or send txt messages on my LG Cosmos

Just started yesterday, I cannot receive or send txt messages but I can make calls. I have tried the *228 reset, pulled the battery, did the full phone reset, did the settings deal all to no avail. I called customer service and tech support and they told me to do the same thing to no avail, does anyone have another fix. This is very frustrating, I dont think its fair that they try to make you get another phone to start a new 2 year contract. Thanks.

        Hi Montek,
Not being able to message all day can definitely cause a lot of frustration. We're not looking for you to upgrade for this service to function. Messaging should work as long as the device is working with it. What happens when you try to send a message? What happens when someone sends you a message? Please tell us more so we can get this ultimately resolved for you.

    Hi there,
Do you have icloud account? You need firstly turn off find my iphone (by go to icloud.com -->sign in --> go to "Find my iphone" and erase your iphone in it). And then you restore your iphone with DFU mode.
When you erase your Find my iphone and if you can not restore, your iphone has a problem with hardware.
    Some infos can help you.

  • I cant receive or send emails

I recently replaced my blackberry 8250 with a blackberry 9350. Before doing so I transferred all my emails onto my new phone. But now when I try to send a message theres a red X and it says 'Transaction error-failure at service'...I haven't received anything either since I switched phones, please may somebody help me! My emails are so important I need it up and running asap

Do a simple reboot on the BlackBerry in this manner: With the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
Then, additional things you might try:
    1) Register HRT:     (OS5) Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scoll to any line entry and > press the Menu key  > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced... etc.
    2) Resend Service Books:   KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
Hopefully that will get things going again for you!

  • HT4245 sometimes but not always the send button is not activated when sending an  imessage through face time on my ipad

    Hello cjtulowiecki,
You’re having problems with the computer not booting sometimes.
    Do a hard reset.
    Power off the computer.
Remove the power cable and the battery.
Hold down the power button for 15 sec while booth power sources are removed.
This should reset the hardware in the computer.
Next test all the hardware in the system.
As you power it back on tap the F2 key. This will load hardware diagnostics.
    Run the startup test.
Clicking the White Kudos star on the left is a way to say Thanks!
Let me know how everything goes.
    Have a good day.

  • My phone will not receive or send iMessages after reconnecting it to my iTunes

I just received my phone back from the Apple store today after it had been sent out to be fixed. When i connected my phone up to my iTunes and iCloud to be resorted, it is now not receiving or sending any iMessages. What can I do to fix this?

Have you enabled iMessage? Have you signed in with your Apple ID? I think you need to reset the settings of iMessage: If you can't send or receive messages on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • I can't receive or send text messages, other than iMessage

i cant receive or send text messages other than i message. HELP.

Me neither. It is really annoying. Did you ever get it figured out?

  • Iphone 4s-when wifi is off and I am away from my home connection can I receive and send texts and text messages?  I want to keep my wifi off to limit data (email etc) to when I want to check it.  Cellular is roaming"voice only" it says. Can I get texts?

When my wifi is off and I'm away from my home connection - it shows wifi off (unless I turn it on to check my email etc.) - and in the settings cellular it shows "voice only". Will I be able to receive and send texts in those settings?  Or check voicemail.  I had wanted to keep my email from coming in all the time and only want to check it periodically - so I turn ON my wifi when I want to check my email.  But when my wifi was off away from home- I hadn't seemed to be getting my texts.  So- do I need to keep wifi roaming connected when away from home to receive and send my texts in real time.  (which is what I want) or am I still able to send and receive texts with my wifi off when I'm away from home.  (When I'm home I am connected to my home data plan automatically through wifi and I get texts when I'm home - but I'm thinking I'm not getting texts in real time - is it because my wifi is off when I'm away from home?  My cellular shows voice only when my wifi is off away from home.  Am I doing it right to receive and send texts away from home?  Or do I need to open up the wifi in order to receive and send text messages.  I know that I would need to turn on wifi roaming - which will use data - for email checking or sending - as well as to use browsing apps and now I'm guessing to receive voice messages I may have missed?  So do I need wifi on to receive texts too?  Thank you - GregorySC

    Hello GregorySC,
In order to send and receive SMS or MMS messages, you will need to have an active cellular data or Wi-Fi connection.
You will need these to send and receive iMessages:
An iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch
    iOS 5.0 or later
A cellular data connection or a Wi-Fi connection
A phone number or Apple ID registered with iMessage in Settings > Messages
    iOS: Troubleshooting Messages

  • When I send a message to the same iPhone user in the UK, sometimes it sends an iMessage and sometimes it sends it as a text.  Anyone know why?

It always seems to happen after the fact, also.  I'll check it later and it shows up green instead of blue.  And, it doesn't seem to matter if I'm connected to wifi or not.  What can I do to make sure they are all iMessages?  Or at least so I can make the decision not to send?

I believe that if you turn off "Send As SMS: off in the settings, it should only attempt to send as an iMessage and should fail if iMessage is unavailable. It tries to send an iMessage a few times and then if unable, it will send as an SMS if you have that turned on.

  • I don't have a 3G so i use Sms/Mms messaging when i have wifi. My co'iphone users receive my text messages but i cant receive theirs because it sends as an imessage. HELP thanks

I Don't have a 3G on my iphone 4. So when i dont have a wifi, i send text through SMS/MMS messaging. I can receive and send SMS/MMS messages to non iphone users. I can also send the same messages to my co iphone users but i cant receive theirs because it sends as imessage. someone help me pls. Thnks

The only way to get around that, since you do not have a data plan, is to completely disable iMessage. While you can turn on the switch for Send As SMS on, which could send your messages as SMS when not connected to Wi-Fi and data is not turned on, it could also find your messages lost in the server and never delivered. Also, anyone sending to you would have to be set up the same way. You can check out this support document for deactivating iMessage. iOS: Deactivating iMessage
iMessage requires an active data connection for both the sender and receiver to work properly.
