I cant redeem the itunes card i just bought, what do i do?

when i bought some itunes card form that store they were still in the case , but now it wont let me redeem it saying it isnt valid. i checked it to make sure that i typed it in right and i did but wont work. what do i do? i spent $30 dollars for the 3 $10 ones

Make sure you're using the correct code. For most iTunes cards, the code is under the scratchoff area on the back of the card. The support article from which you came:

iTunes gift cards are only valid in their country of issue - so Austrian cards can only be used in Austria on Austrian iTunes accounts. Do you know anybody in Austria that you could sell or give the card to ?

I am currently using a Credit Card for payment methods on the ITUNES store. But my sons are now using it also, so my husband thought it would be best to delete the card and buy ITUNES gift cards instead so we dont have to keep loading this card. But it's not deleting my information. I redeemed the cards already and says that I have a balance on my account. But when we try to purchase something it takes me to the billing screen and it says there is an issue with a previous purchase because the card was declined! What do I do?? Someone please help. I just bought an iphone and created an apple id. When I entered my credit card number, I also put in the number of the itunes card that i bought. Now, when I go to buy music from the itunes store, it says my card has already been redeemed. What can I do?

Thanks for your advice, I went to the apple shop today for a face to face meeting with a tech and he checked everything and could not figure out why I was having this problem so we decided to give up on that account and create a whole new one for me using a different email address.
Now I can download apps on both my iPhone and ipad2.

Yes you can redeem the card if it is a U.S. gift card, you have a U.S. based iTunes account and if you are using the U.S. stores on the iPad.
On the iPad - Swipe to the bottom of the screen in the App Store or in iTunes and tap on Redeem. If you are using iTunes on your computer, you should see Redeem under Quick Links (i think that is where you will see it) after you sign into the store.

It should keep asking for the password, because it's trying to check for purchases... As soon as you login, it will see you have pending downloads and create the downloads section on the left below Purchases under the Store section. Then it will start the music downloads there, as they will be listed one below the other.
You could just try to check your account balance or view your account and that will trigger a password request too. You can just click on that and say that now iTunes keeps asking for the password and ask him to help you with that. Trick would be to interrupt him so that he carries on with another task after, so he doesn't notice the download. Or you carry on with email or browsing which you were "busy" with when iTunes interrupted you for the password (stupid iTunes)

If you are on your computer's iTunes and you are signed into your account then it should show at the top of the iTunes store pages next to your account id - or you can log into your account via Store > View My Account (Store > View My Apple ID on iTunes 11) and it should show on the top section of the screen that you are taken to.
On an iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch it should show on, for example, the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app or the Music tab in the iTunes app next to your id.

HT1541 I redeemed a Itunes card & the amount was not transfered to my acct.

I redeemed a $15 gift card to my acct - code #XXWMB8HKVK3DRV86 & it was never posted to my balance.

Look, I understand I still need a card attached to the account. The problem is, it won't accept my card because I only have 87 cents in my bank account right now.
If I had known there would be so much trouble with the iTunes card, I would have just put the cash in my bank account in the morning instead of buying an iTunes card (I didn't expect the banks to be open on Thanksgiving of course).
Apple will only accept cards that have a balance. The balance is so small in my account that it won't accept it as a valid card.
I'm going to have to contact Apple anyway to reset the security questions. That's obvious. Your answers were not exactly helpful. You didn't tell me anything I don't already know, but thanks for trying to be helpful.

If the amount of the purchase is close to $21.07, then you need to take into account taxes may be added.
If you go beyond the credit from a gift card the balance will be billed to your credit card account.
