One of two places -- probably in your Library at HD/Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plug ins and delete it. If not there, look in Application Support in your Home folder Library.

I follow the path HD/Library/Application support but then i hit a blank because aperture isn't there

In th Aperture tool bar >Photos>edit with external editor is grey out - Edit with plug in > no plug in
yet in aperture preferences external photo editor shows photoshop elements editor
When I click on a aperture project on my external hard drive photoshop elements fires up rather than Aperture.
Perhaps i have more than 1 problem here

It is not a good idea, to manually delete registry keys. Java uninstaller removes all registry entries that are needed to perform clean future installation.
You might see some of the keys not removed by Java unistaller but they do not prevent any user from doing fresh installation of Java in future.
Java removal tool is currently being developed, but that is for removing old/unsecure and unsupported Java versions. The tool isn't really intended to remove current/above security baseline versions of Java.
Also, the tool does a standard un-install using msiexec /x. It won't specifically delete registry keys - it lets msiexec do it.

You need to remove it from where it is installed. That could be one of two places.
Quit Aperture
Triple click the following to select it
/Library/Application Support/Aperture
Right click it and select Services->Open from the contextual menu. Look for the plugin. If it is there drag it to the trash or Desktop depending on if you want to get rid of it for good.
If it is not there try
~/Library/Application Support/Aperture
If not there post back wit the name of the plugin

Having trouble deleting plug-in from Aperture.

I've been trying to get rid of a plug-in from aperture. I've tried deleting both by showing the package content from Aperture. I also tried to go through Library - Application Support - Aperture, but there wasn't any plug-in folder. I tried to show hidden folders, still didn't display. It still appears in Aperture, even though it's not usable due to compatibility problems. Any suggestions?
I'm running Lion on my mac, and I've had the same proglem with an application before, no solution was found.

There are two places the plugin can be:
/Library/Application Support/Aperture/
and
~/Library/Application Support/Aperture/
Triple click each line above in turn to select it, then right click (command click) the selection, choose Services->Open from the contextual menu. This will open the folder in finder. If the plug in isn;t in the forst folder try the second.
Make sure that once you delete the plugon you restart Aperture.

Why are frame sizes increasing after editing with Nik plug-ins?

I’m using the Nik Collection of plug-ins with Aperture, and have discovered that the frame size of the resulting edits always end up larger than the original - sometimes much larger.
The original image starts as 4592 x 3448 but after editing, the longest side of the resulting image is typically over 5000, 6000 or even 7000 pixels.
I recently worked on a cropped image that started at 4138 x 2759 and ended up at 7361 x 4908, after editing with a combination of Dfine, Viveza, Color Efex + Silver Efex. If I export a version during the editing process, and then carry out futher editing, the frame size increases again.
I’m exporting from Aperture using the TIFF - Original Size (16 bit) setting.
Can anyone tell me what’s going on here? I’m concerned that the quality of the images is being compromised by the enlargement.
I'm using the latest set of Nik plug-ins, with Aperture 3.2.4 on a MBP running 10.6.8

In order to open Aperture in 32-bit mode by default you can right-click on the application icon, select "Get Info" and check the box marked "Open In 32-bit Mode" (or you can continue to run it by default in 64-bit mode and just get forced to re-open the app anytime you need to use plug-ins that can only run in 32-bit mode).

Cannot delete a Plug-in from Aperture 3.1

Unable to delete a plug-in from showing up in Aperture 3.1 by dragging the plugin from the Library/Application Support/Aperture/Plugins folder, and relaunching Aperture. The same old plugin (32bit) still shows on the menu and is also active when editing with plugin even after deleting from the plug-in folder.. How can I get this plugin to go away so an upgraded version can be put in place and used. I have quit Aperture, Shut down the computer, tried everything short of reinstalling the 3.1 upgrade to Aperture. Help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you very much. Yes, there was a duplication in the user library. I reinstalled Photomatix 1.1.6 using their installation routine and all works in 64 bit mode. Best wishes,

What's the best codec to edit with in Premiere coming from FCP

Hi everyone
I have a project that has been edited in Final Cut Pro on my Mac. The footage was compressed to Apple Prores HQ to edit in FCP. Now I have a new computer loaded with Adobe CC I want to export the FCP project in the best codec possible to colour correct/ add effects and colour grade with adobe CC.
I don't want to bring all the project files over, just the finished sequence I've edited.
Can anyone advise me on what the best possible codec is to export it in on my mac to start finalizing in Adobe Premiere?

Exporting of pictures with folders and subfolders from Aperture

I was importing folders with subfolders structure to Aperture 3.
Is possible later export my pictures from structure in Aperture to folders and subfolders with same structure like it was before importing to Aperture?

I'm assuming you imported using managed files and not referenced files? If referenced (leaving files in place), then your files are in the same folder structure as before.

MDG-F 7.0 Multiple Editions with same valid from date

It appears that we are dis-allowed to create more than two editions with same valid from date in MDG-F 7.0.
that tells me that i should be extremely careful of creating an edition with valid from date because once created, I have to group all financial master data change requests effecitve on the same date into this edition. If I am missing one in first place and later on I find one that should be also valid from the same date after Edition is released, there is no way I can catch up by creating another edition with the same valid from date. Correct?
Should I create Edition with replication time option 2 - approval of change request then to avoid?

your finding is unfortunately not correct. It is true that there might be only one open edition for a specific valid from date. Nevertheless, if you release this edition, you can create another edition using the same date.

Aperture 3 and Round trip edits with Photoshop CS4

In Aperture 2, if I selected a Master or Version in my Aperture library and then right-clicked and edited in Photoshop. Made my changes in photoshop and then saved it, the changes would be created in a new version in the Aperture library. When viewing the PSD in Aperture, all my changes would be visible. In a sense it felt like a new "master".
In Aperture 3, if I duplicate those steps, save the edited photo in PS CS4, the resulting image in the Aperture library doesn't show my edited changes UNLESS I press 'M' to display the master. This feels like a bug. In other words, if I toggle back and forth between the original version (which I used to edit and send to PS) and the new Photoshop PSD file, they look identical until I toggle the Master and then I see all my photoshop edits. Very different behavior from Aperture 2--at least for me.
Can anyone explain what I am seeing? Is this an expected behavior? I hope I was clear enough.

i havent pressed M, but I have noticed that it takes aperture a longer time in AP3 to display the edits on an image that has been roundtripped to CS4. If you jump to full screen from browser view it should show the edits immediately, but sometimes when i go back into browser mode it switches back to an unedited view. however after a minute (sometimes more) the changes will be noticable both in full-screen and browser view without any toggling. I think it's just taking longer to update the image..it doesnt necessarily require you to toggle M forever to see the edits.
at least not in my case.

Export my slideshow from Aperture (with music) to a CD

I'm having problems with exporting my slideshow from Aperture. I'm also new to the mac and aperture, so this could be part of the learning curve!
I would like to export the slideshow (with music) to be played on a non-apple computer via a CD. I see the export options, but they all seem to be specific to other apple products or a TV.
is it even possible to copy the slideshow to a CD?

These export options are just guidelines to pick a suitable resolution and codec. If you pick one of them it will render your slideshow and export a Quicktime movie; then you move this movie to a folder and burn this folder to a CD.
If you want a movie that can be viewed on a display of anoter computer I'd go for the option with the highest solution and pick the full HD option: HD 1080p. All other options will result in higher compressed videos with less resolution.

Thanks Larry. That certainly gives me some understanding. Can't imagine I'm the only Aperture user with that concern, so I certainly hope Adobe and others will fill the void. Without that feature, Photos is pretty much a non-started for me.

Lightroom has no problem reading DNG files. Whether the edits you have done to the DNGs you have originally edited in Photoshop Elements 10 I'm not sure. ACR edits made to DNGs are saved in the DNG file itself, as apposed to a XMP sidecar file, so LR should see those edits. At the worst you will get an exclamation mark in the upper right hand corner of the imported DNGs and clicking on that exclamation mark you will get a dialog box asking you to either import settings from disk or overwrite settings. you would select import settings from disk.

iTunes runs on your computer, not your phone. Install the latest version of iTunes on your computer. If you're using a Mac, and running OS X 10.5, you will need to upgrade OS X first.
