Cant restore previous purchase of OS X Mountain Lion

I had to completely wipe my hard drive today due to my MacBook Pro going to the gray loading screen after a standard restart. This is the second time in a week this has happened to me. I have no idea why or what is causing it. The first time I went to an Apple store and the genius bar was extremely helpful. Although I lost some things due to not having a proper backup because of lack of an external hard drive. This time I decided to fix it myself and I tried to repair the disk but there were way to many problems and it wouldn't repair. The only way I could get my computer to turn on was to erase my hard drive, so that is what I did. After I did that it gave me the only option to download OS X Lion and so I went ahead and did that. Now that my computer is back on and running, thankfully, I want to put OS X Mountain Lion back on my computer. But for some reason the app store is not recognizing the fact that I have already purchased OS X Mountain Lion so the only option it gives me is the $19.99 option. I really don't want to have to buy it again and don't feel like I should have to since I already bought it once. So my question to all this is there any way for me to restore my purchase and download OS X Mountain Lion again but not have to pay again. If anybody can help I would really appreciate it. Also if anybody has any idea why my MacBook Pro is messing up like that twice in only one week? It is extremely frustrating for me. I feel like I seriously got a bad MacBook with all the ridiculous problems I've had in not even two years. Thanks a lot.

Possibly the hard drive is bad. While rare, they sometimes do fail right out of the box.
After erasing and reinstalling, did you add back any third-party software. If so, what software and versions?

Can you explain what is not working for you?
Make sure you are following the instructions in this procedure to the letter. Here they are, with emphasis on some easily overlooked requirements:
Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release only the Sleep/Wake button.
Continue pressing and holding the Home button while you reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
Note: If you see the "low battery" screen, let the device charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then start with step 2 again.
Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears (iTunes icon and USB connector) release the Home button.
If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the "recovery mode" alert ("iTunes has detected a phone in recovery mode").
Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you do not see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. Be patient since it sometimes takes several of these attempts before you are successful.
If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
Select the device in iTunes and choose "restore from backup". This assumes you have a backup. If you do not, you will have to download all your purchased iTunes content again. You do not have to pay for anything you already purchased.

this is the 2nd time i had the restore sofware 552 error but this time i cant restore the operating system and have to get hte phone replaced. this hapeend after rebooting after installing a program. last time it was bc i deleted a program. has anyone had this problem?

This software error has occurred on two different BlackBerry Tours, each of which I returned for replacement (I also had to replace a third one because the front face plate was loose). So I'm now on my fourth Tour after purchasing the first one a little over a week ago. Bad part is, I can't even attempt a restore, since I own a Mac and the necessary software isn't available yet. When I went to return the second Tour after getting the error message, I called BlackBerry support and was told to borrow a phone, go to public library, install the software on a PC, call her back, and she'd walk me through the process. This, after informing her that a sales rep was kind enough to have already attempted a full restore using his PC lab top and that the restore that failed to work.
In any case, as noted at the start of the thread, the problem occurred while installing software from App World (two different applications). Now that my FOURTH Tour is all set up with my "must-have" applications, I won't be installing any additional software in the near future, no matter how important it would be to own. Which means my BlackBerry will never be the 100% useful tool that I bought it for to begin with. I find it rather disturbing as well that installing a small application (from BlackBerry's own app store no less) can wipe out the phone's entire operating system. Even if the phone COULD be restored, it still means hours of updates, reinstalling applications, setting up custom ringtones, etc. (although perhaps this process is easier for PC users).

TS2446 itunes will not take my security answers, and when i try to change them it asks me again and it still wont take it, i cant make any purchases. HELP!

If you don't have a rescue email address set, then you're SoL.
If you do, then reset your info and check in there.
If not, you'll have to contact iTS, and wait for God knows how long for Apple to complete its pending investigation in this SNAFU.

I purchased Linux Pro Magazine, they did some upgrade and I had to restore my purchases on my iPhone which worked. However, I can't restore my purchases on my iPad when I login I keep getting incorrect Apple ID or password. How do I fix this?

Yes, I am using the same ID on both devices. I also logged out of the iTunes application and back in but still get this same message. "The Apple ID you entered couldn't be found or your password was incorrect. Plese try again."

I cant restore my HP G62 notebook PC to factory setting as i get the message boot manager missing

I having trouble when i try to restore my laptop to factory setting, it tells me the Bootmanager is missing, this also happens with system restore.
It very slow, and restoring it to factory worked once upon a time, and my laptop was great after that.
I dont use it now as my main laptop, i have an Asus Transformer with windows 8.1, but its having its health check so im stuck with out it.
I rememberd my HP laptop, but forgot about its problem untill i started using it, and i still cant restore it to factory and still get "bootmanager " missing.
Please help, im disabled and rely on my laptop for shopping etc.

Cant get back purchases. Apple ID acts as new but it has been the same email since the beginning. What to do?

So recently i realised that my ID acts like new. It cannot get back(restore) old purchases, not even inapp purchases.
I checked my emails and exatly a year ago i got an email from apple which said"welcome to itunes store" and that newbie blah blah like i just registered, but i have the receits from earlier on the same email adresse. Please help me!

On your iPhone delete the Apple ID you are using (As it is linked to your husband's iPhone)
On the Mac in the Finder use the Go Menu whilst holding down the ALT key.
Select the Library that appears.
Navigate to the Preferences.
Find the item com.apple.ids.service.com.apple.madrid.plist
Drag it to the trash.
Restart the Messages app.
It will want you to re-enter an Apple ID.
Get your own Apple ID as Eric says.
Enter this on the Mac and the iPhone.
Sharing an Apple ID is only really good for iTunes and syncing things through iCloud.
FaceTime and the iMessages account should really have their own.

Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.
If you aren't in a country where music can be re-downloaded then you could try contacting iTunes support and see if they will grant you a re-download : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page,

Looks like the iPod Hardisk is having problem.
Can you do the iPod Disk Diagnostics as posted by tt2, it wont fix your problem but helps in troubleshooting.
You system check maybe above but dont go for Auto, select the Manual test, as tt2 described in his detailed post.
