I cant run my recovery

when i run recovery a message apper to me and say :
windows faild to start a recent hardware or software change might be the cause to fix the problem :
1 - insert ur windows instllation disc and restart ur computer
2 - chosse ur language settings and then click next
3 - click repair ur computer
if you dont have this disk contact ur system adminstrator or computer manufacturer for assistance

What you need is a system repair disk. If you know have a friend who has a Windows 7 64-bit notebook or desktop PC then they can help you by making a repair disk for you. Another method is to download a utility called EasyBCD 2.2. EasyBCD 2.2 will allow you to repair the broken entry in the BCD store on the hard disk. An alternative is to use the recovery disk set or usb recovery media to recover your noteboook back to its factory delivered state.

first of all.. if my english doesnt make sence. im sorry.
I have a mini NB-100 and i want to make a recovery of it. But i cant!!
i press '0' before i turn it on and it freezes, black screen after the toshiba logo.
I have a pendrive because i cant start windows, thats why i want to restore it. From there i can see the partition where the recovery is, there's an .iso named BASE.iso. I tryed to make a penndrive with it but i didnt succeed.

If you were able to make your Toshiba Recovery disks, then your Toshiba Recovery Partition on your hard drive is still intact and in good condition. You only make the Recovery disks, as an emergency backup, in case your recovery parition becomes corrupted or is accidentally deleted.
Make sure you have backed up all your own user files, favorites, bookmarks, etc, before you run the recovery utility.
To run the Toshiba Recovery Utility from your hard drive, immediately press and hold down the '0' (zero) key on power up, while the Toshiba logo is still on the screen.
In the future, if there is a problem with your recovery partition and you cannot start the utility from there, insert Toshiba Recovery Disk 1 in your CD/DVD drive, reboot or power on your machine, when you see the Toshiba logo on the screen press the 'F12' key at the top of your keyboard, at the Boot Sequence menu choose 'Optical disk drive CD/DVD drive', you will then see 'To boot from CD/DVD press any key.....' with the dots at the end counting down, before the dots finish counting down, press any key and your unit will boot from Recovery Disk 1.

Anyone know how to run system recovery? My machine is: Toshiba Satellite L300D.
I have tried "the hold down power button for 10 seconds and then press and hold zero keys" ( Http://www.toshiba.com.au => Home>>Support>>FAQ>>How do I rum System Recovery? ) but I does not work.
After I release the 0 key it should come up the warning screen but what was show up is a blank black and at the top of the screen theres a blurry small words (fonts 2-3 maybe, I cant read it though).

Hold down the 0 (Zero) key, turn hte laptop on, then release the Zero key when the Toshiba logo appears.
If that doesnt work, go into the Windows boot menu by pressing F8 as soon as Windows starts booting, then go into the Recovery Options. You can also run Recoveyr from there (If its Vista).

I cant run the latest version of firefox on my mac OS, need to uninstall it

I downloaded the latest firefox so I could use the firefox app for my new Iphone. I only have Mac OS X 10.4.11 and the new firefox wont run on it. Think I just found it. You need to click on the right hand side where it says Firefox 3.6.16 (under the search.
It's confusing because on the left the are some Firefox 3.6.16 for other languages.

My system freezes during start-up "for first time" after running System Recovery.

No error message, per se; just a frozen screen during reboot.
Months ago, my computer suddenly started glitching on me. I shut down and tried a reboot. The system froze on the boot screen with the flying colors. Tried system recovery several times but must have done something wrong because it would not run. Resolved to buy a new hard drive and reinstall from recovery discs. Delayed for no good reason until today, months later.
Before buying new hard drive, decided to run System Recovery again. It worked! I tried the option that deleted everything and restored to original factory settings and software. Everything appeared to work like a charm: hard drive reformatted, software reinstalled, system prompted me for a reboot. I did. Windows started to start, "Setup preparting your computer for the first use" appears . . . and freezes. For hours. Hard drive indicator light is off.
BTW, made sure that the Wi-Fi button was on as I read about Recovery issues if it was off when the program ran.
Rebooted. Hit F11. Ran maintenance and checked hard drive for errors. There are errors. Unfortunately, the default setting of CHKDSK does not repair them. Opted for a command prompt. Rand CHKDSK again with "/f /r" option seen in other posts. I'm too ignorant here to get the program to run properly, I guess. I ran CHKDSK on both drive X and C. No errors found . . . sort of. I know they exist because the system will not boot up. (Yes, I tried again.) Back at command prompt, I tried to run CHKDSK on drive C again. This time I received a message that I would first have to unmount (dismount?) the drive. As I do not know what this means, I opted for "no" and have decided to post this message for assistance.
So. Suggestions on what I do next? More specifically: how do I get CHKDSK to repair the errors it found? I believe the message was: "Errors in $130 of sector . . ." It displays this message twice at 62% completion. Freezes for a long time. Gets going again only to slow to a crawl again around 70% but for not as long. Then returns back to the start screen of System Recovery.
Ran System Recovery again for kicks. Again, appeared to work like a charm. Unfortunately, the laptop is once again sitting frozen on the "Preparing . . . for first use" screen again. It is getting hotter the longer it sits. The fan is now audibly running at higher rpms . . . if any of that helps. I'm shutting it down and waiting for your advice.

Hello Miles1966. I understand you're experiencing some issues with your notebook freezing.
This does sound like a hard drive problem. The freezes, missing HDD indicator light, and inability to perform a recovery are all symptoms of a failing hard drive. You had been using CHKDISK previously but have you tried running the diagnostic which is built into the BIOS? Try following these steps and post the result of the diagnostic. I suggest running the memory test as well just in case.

You should first uninstall iTunes completely.
This is not an easy task!

Trying to run the recovery disk on my Satellite A75

When trying to run the recovery disk on my A75 I get a message that it will not run on a non Toshiba machine. It looks like I'm missing some system files.

Do you use the Recovery disk delivered together with this notebook?
Are you sure youve got the right disk?
The other reasons could be a faulty or missing information in the DMI.
The DMI contains details about the notebook model, series number and other necessary details.
If such information is not correct then the notebook cannot be recognized as a Toshiba unit and therefore the Toshiba recovery procedure would be not possible.

Cant run nTune..Help

cant run auto tune with NVIDIA ntune when i try to my pc just feezes and i have to reboot. i noticed the first time i ran ntune theres a box that comes up tell you that you have to disable some thing (i think it was something about HT and the video card ) i didnt pay any notice and now the box doesnt come up anymore and i dont know what i have to do.

Before running NVTune:
Disable DOT, and don't overclock anything.
Leave it the values at their defaults.
I recommned making an image of your HD before running it.
I've had some problems after installing the newest nvtune. (2.05.09.08) and I don't recommend it.
Besides, the "resume after boot" options simply doesn't work for me. (MSI K8N SLI)
My Windows wouldn't boot, some .sys file missing/corrupt.
The system will freeze, and this is "normal" = expected.

I have a DB file containing multiple databases. Without using DBEnvironments, I can open it to get the dbnames. I can open the databases RDONLY,
and see that their contents are correct. I can open them RW, and everything works.
But when I try to create a new one, I get this:

Not sure how that came about or how to prevent it, but it might have to do wit this issue.

BC 2.1 cant run on my vista 64bit, can anyone help?

I did my installation of vista 64bit on my 2.4ghz macbook pro 15" (quite old model, about a year ago) and yes, i did download BC 2.1 and try to run on it.( i think most of the people cant use 2.0 for installing all of the driver.)
i saw someone was discussed on this forum about failed install for "Keyagent" and "MacHal" file.(sorry if i name it wrong.) I have a same problem as well, so i try to download BC 2.1 ( http://support.apple.com/downloads/BootCamp_Update_2_1_for_Windows_Vista64 ). The problem for now is i cant run that file on my vista! Should i download BC 2.1 32bit and try it or something wrong??

When you are running Vista, put your Leopard DVD in.
It should ask to run SETUP.exe and install Apple services, drivers, and Boot Camp, including Boot Camp control panel, Apple Software Update, Apple OS Switcher, Apple Time Services.
You will need to reboot.
And only then can you install and run BC64 2.1.
It can also be downloaded via the Apple Software Update control panel itself.
If your 10.5.0 DVD is not showing anything, it should open to /Bootcamp in Windows.
Call or check or buy 10.5.6. If it is OEM disc, some didn't have it.
If on the other hand you are using a program called MacDrive7 (commercial) it use to not work iwth 64-bit versions, and would prevent access to Apple DVD.

You must boot from another drive in order to erase the system drive.
Try starting up with Snow Leopard DVD inserted and C depress. That should get you booted from the DVD. Then start Disk Utitlity from DVD and erase the disk then you should be able to install Snow Leopard.
Remember that everything will be removed from the disk when you erase it and install Snow Leopard so backup first.

I just installed adobe cs4 design premium, and everything works fine except for the program I wanted most, which is Flash. It has a little circle with a line through the icon and whenever I try to run it, it tells me that it cant run because it is not supported on this architecture. I have already re-installed it four times and it never helps. I cant find any help on this board even though similar questions have been asked. Its on a brand new imac, can someone please help?

I'm afraid I don't have experience with troubleshooting this install issue to offer any sort of concrete answer about what's the quickest/easiest way to resolve it. Maybe someone else on this forum or a google search will provide some advice from people who have experienced this first-hand and will know the quickest steps to get the software running. If not, perhaps investigate partitions without journaling, or disabling it (the Apple site has info about this if needed).

First we need to know which one of the 9 different models of MacBook you have. To see which model you have go to the Apple in the upper left corner and select About This Mac, then click on More Info. When System Profiler comes up check the Model Identifier and post it back here.
The Early 2006 model 1,1 Core Duo can only run a maximum of 10.6 Snow Leopard.
The models Late 2006 Core 2 Duos 2,1 through Early 2008 4,1 can only run a maximum of 10.7 Lion.
The Late 2008 model 5,1 Aluminum Unibody through the Mid 2010 White Unibody model 7,1 can run 10.8 Mountain Lion and 10.9 Mavericks.
