I cant seem to activate my 3gs after downloading the new software. can anyone help please?
i downloaded the new iphone software, but can seem to activate my phone. i keep getting a message saying phone could not be activated because server is unavailable even tho i am using wifi. i tried connecting to itunes but the iphone icon is greyed out. please help.?
You're welcome. Have you tried the new request desktop site feature in Safari ? If you hadn't type iCloud.com in the URL field, tap go. When the icloud page is on the screen tap the URL field, pull Favorites down, tap request desktop site. Now you're able to do things on your iPad which you used to have a computer to be able to do.

After troubleshooting for a few hours, I still cannot find a proper solution. Effectively, I learned that if I create a new profile user, with this command in windows Run: "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -p , I can open the user profile menu manually, and create/delete a new/not-new user, and upon creating and using a new one, it works fine. For a couple of times opening the browser, anyway, in which it results in the same problem as before. I took a list and compared the old files to a brand new users files, and did find some differences. Take these into effect,
The compatability and extensions .ini files were differed by 3 kb , with a new user being 1, and the old user being 4.
The Local Store .rdf file differed from 2 for a new user, to 4 for an old user.
The Mime Types .rdf file differed from 3 for a new user to 4 for an old user.
Plugin Reg(istry?) .dat differed from 17 new to 20 old.
Search.json differed from 13 new to 16 old.
Search Metadata.json differed from 1 new to 4 old.
URL Classifier Key 3.txt differed from 1 new to 4 old.
Web App Store.sqlite differed from 96 new to 128 old.

Seeing as a few articles relating to the problem are "no longer maintained" and the solutions work only temporarily, I came here hoping to fix this little issue. Thank you, and good luck in advance.

Note; the first crash ID is for the new user that crashed, the last is for an old user.I see.. I have heard rumors of this, but it did not occur to me that this would literally crash upon startup. Thank you for the help, Edmeister. Will check as "solved it" if it works. Thanks again!

DVD Pro 3 locks up after completing the format phase can anyone help?
I am very experienced with FCP & DVDSP3. However, starting this week my entire computer locks up after I start to burn a dvd in dvdsp3? I have tried everything I can think of please help. I have burned several dvd's using same footage. I thought maybe the disk were dirty (fingerprints etc.) I have tried several dvd's but nothing works. Help please!!
Yes the project was built by me. I have burned several copies from the same file. After about the 10 copy it started to freeze. My disk drive would keep running but it sounded as if it was stuck. The program stopped responding at this point. I'm using Apple DVDRW. I also tried using Maxwell (poor decision). Do you think it's the program or the dvd burner (hardware). thanks for the help.

I have a Trust eSATA II ExpressCard which does not seem to be being picked up by the OS. The Sata controller icon on the top bar is shown but only with the option to 'Power off Card'. I have a seagate 1TB Goflex drive attached to it via their own eSATA cable.
My Macbook Pro is 2.2Ghz Intel Cor i7 with an 256GB SSD drive and running Lion 10.7.2

For what it's worth, I picked up the same Trust eSATA I ExpressCard and had the same problem. The post of DrFrankenmac at https://discussions.apple.com/message/8108772#8108772 solved my problem.
You need to download the BASE Driver for PCI-E Sil3132 (32-bit) from http://www.american-media.com/support/downloadDDDS2350S.html that works just fine. -

If your music was purchased within iTunes, then you should be able to get your purchases restored. If it was music you imported, then you must re-import the CD's. So sorry that you lost it all. Most people never back up their data.... even when they talk the talk but never walk the walk. 3 copies, and rotate them. son, father, and grandfather (Old school stuff but if you have a bad disc, the other saves may be your rescue!)

i downloaded the new softward today and have now lost all contacts pictures messages etc iphone was backed up but when i started the download the iphone went into restore mode. im completely at a loss. need all data back especially pictures
Did you fail to import your pics before updating?

Thanks for asking, I knew I had forgotten to mention something. The phone was indeed unofficially unlocked, since there were no apple stores or even premium resellers in the region I lived in during the given procedure had to be done.
I understand this could be a further complication, especially the fact the home button does not work. However, I was wondering if there would be a possibility to use a third-party application instead of iTunes to restore the iPhone? IF someone does know of such an application, I could easily solve further problems myself. Basically, the main issue here is my lack of ability to enter DFU mode. -

Try restarting your router by removing power for 30 seconds and then restarting.
On your ipod Touch go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network settings.
Now attempt to connect.
If you still have problems please give the make/model/version of your router. -
I just synced my iphone 3gs after downloading the safari update. Now I can't open any apps except the ones that came with the phone. I have tried rebooting, turning it off and on.
When I select the icon, it goes to the page then returns to my screensaver.
It was working well before the update and sync with my Acer netbook. Have never had any problems with itunes store or downloads.this happened to me with my iPhone 4. I researched the problem and found this :
"The reason this happens is because every time a downloaded app is opened it checks for your itunes password for validation that you are authorized to open that app (as it may contain personal info). From time to time the iphone 'forgets' your itunes password. You can fix the missing password by syncing the iphone with itunes or downloading an app from the app store and entering your password that way.”
And to fix it, all I did was download a new app, or delete a current one, I used Facebook, and re-download it.
