Again, you may need to figure out all of the settings from the boss then. This error is what you get if the SMTP server recognizes that you are on a network away from your work network and it considers sending mail that way as relaying and rejects it. The SMTP server uses some type of authentication to determine that you are authorized to access the server. When you set up the mail account, a couple of the entry areas say Optional. This is not for all SMTP servers. You need to make sure that you have entered your username and password in all of these areas. You can go back into your account section and select the SMTP server and modify if necessary.

You need to send through the smtp address provided by your mobile network or switch your mobile email to an imap provider such as gmail or an apple .me account as these tend to work.

What email are you using?
Go to settings->mail contacts and calendar-> then tap in your email and re enter the password to your email. You may need to renter the SMTP server password too. Just anytime you see password type in your password. That should fix the issue. -
I cant send email after the IOS 7. I receive all emails normaly in the outlook 2011, bus I cant receive. What can I do?
Update - I now have it working.
am not really sure what exactly fixed it.
I changed a lot of things but my setup now has the following which I think fixed.
outgoing server - p06-smtp.mail.me.com
override default port checked - port now 587
on more options button changed it to "use incoming server info". -

Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Cant send emails stuck in my outbox?
Hi, have read just about every query and reply regarding messages stuck in outbox, and have tried just about every suggestion and tip going, but my mail still sits there stubbornly refusing to go.
I tried rebooting; I tried refreshing; I tried going into settings and verifying the email account; I tried re-entering the default account; I tried closing the app and restarting it; I tried double pressing the home button; you name it I tried it, but nothing works. Those emails are just sitting there refusing to budge. I am at my wits end!

Just installed iOS5 on iphone4, now I cant send email?
So I just updated the operating system on my iphone4 to iOS5. Now I cant send email. I can receive email, just cant send. Have tried all the usual remedies such as re-booting, setting up the email account again, changing the outgoing mail server port from 25 to 225 etc. Anyone got any other bright suggestions?

Hi, does anyone know why I cant send email over 3g but can over wi-fi. My provider is ntlworld. As soon as I get home and connect to wi-fi the mail sends no problem
We use ntlworld as our home broadband provider and main email address. In my experience ntl doesn't usually allow sending of email except on its own network which is why yours works at home. My iPhone is set up to send my ntl email using my second email account's smtp setting (in my case is is a mac.com account and I haven't found any network this doesn't work on to send email).
So my advice is to get yourself another email account with a different provider like yahoo or google, then use the new provider smtp address to send your ntl email on your iPhone. -

I just set up my home today previoulsy changed over from orange, I have 4 email accounts spread between btconnect and organgehome.
I have searched high and low to find how to set the email preferences in outlook 2003 and can recive but cant send emails and I wondered if any one could help.
I have selected the outgoing server authentication tab as this seemed a common problem for others that I have found in FAQs, however for me it dont work.

For non BTinternet email addresses, you normally need to do something called address verification. See my shortcuts option 0e on this topic.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail". You need to seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
