Just got a brand new 6220 on 3 network. my problem is that i cant sent sms but can recieve. when i tried to send an sms at first it asked for a centre no i just put in 1 for some reason and as expected it didnt send.
how do i manually input my sms centre number which i got off my old 3 phone
i have tried messeging - settings - text message - message centre in use - message centre
problem is i cant change centre number

And, usually, the message centre number is on the SIM card, and the phone reads it automatically.
Sometimes the SIM can go bad, or the phone has some other trouble reading the number from the SIM card.
Then you can define/add the number manually, but you do need to ask your network operator (service provider, carrier) whose SIM card you have to give the number. It might also be posted on their web site.

to all guru's out there..
just buy aspen yesterday..and my problem is...my aspen cant send sms..i've update the software..tryin to change msg centre number but an error pop up " cannot read setting from the network" i've called the network provider..they said my line working just fine.what should i do now???please help!!

i dont know if the problem was solved, but I am facing the same problem in my aspen.
if i try changing the message centre number, it says 'cant read message settings, close the data connection and try again.' But even after closing the data connection the same error appears.

Skype would be a possibility for phone calls, though I don't know if it's available in SA. Search the iTunes Store for "SMS" and you'll quickly see if there are any SMS apps you can try.

Is there an outage in the Cleveland, Ohio area (zip codes 44129, 44134, 44137) or anything else I can do to resolve this issue?

Not that I'm a Verizon employee, but I have experience in the field. An LTE tower will only extend up to, on a perfect day, with no elevation, 6-7 miles. On a typical day, you will be lucky at four (4) miles. The three ZIP codes you've given are all within about a 12 mile radius. That would mean that 2-3 towers are currently down at the same time, and Verizon would know about it within the hour. Being it's Cleveland, I'm sure they would receive numerous calls regarding an outage of that size.
My point is that if you're having issues in all three ZIP codes, chances are it's a phone issue. If you're handset is simply not receiving LTE, but still receiving 3G, that would signify a SIM card issue. You need to get your SIM card replaced.

The iPhone remembers information about previous contacts.
Complelely independently, you have a Contacts app with a contacts list. It sounds like your contacts list has 3 names on it. You need to add a few names.

SMS or an iMessage?
There is no delivered indicator for an SMS or MMS.
If for an iMessage, unless there is a red indicator with the message indicating the message could not be sent for whatever reason, the message was sent.

Well yes, you probably will have problems with your phone because a 'contract free' phone is NOT the same as a fully unlocked iPhone.
This is a user forum, so nobody here can really help you. As Sprint is your carrier in the US, then you need to contact them first. They are the only ones who can help you.

Hi all, I would like to know how can i send sms from J2ME wireless toolkit to a macromedia flash socket server (electroserver) and recieved a feedback from the server that the message is successfully recieved.
as example of what i want was:-
1. user send a sms using j2me wireless toolkit to chat in the flash client chat (IRC)
2. if is a new user, user will need to register their nickname on the server and the server will acknowledge them wether their nickname is already in used or not. so the server will reply the SMS.
Is there any way to do it using J2ME wireless Toolkit or the server may not support such function. please help me and give some advice on how to make this work. Help from all is much appreciated.

Hello guys, i just bought an unlocked iPhone from Claro Chile, and i tryed to use it in Argentina. I have no problems using every app on the iPhone but the SMS has been some trouble. I just cant send any sms, i can't therefore, activate imessage or facetime. my iPhone model is the A1428 GSM, and im running iOS 6.1 i tryed everything, checking the sms data, restore the iPhone, and nothing i've reading that is a frecuent problem in the sprint iphone 5's, but mine is from Claro Chile.... I need some answers and solutions... if there's any... i contact Claro Chile and they told me that the problem is whit Apple... and here i'm, i also tryed to send a mail to [email protected] and i receive an automatic response.

Confirm that you have MMS Messaging set to On in Settings>Messages. If it is, check with your carrier to confirm that your messaging plan is properly provisioned for MMS.

try deleting mesages from the inbox outbox and saved folders there is issues when you have so many message the phone will not send text

Manual cutting of a SIM is always a risk, as you have witnessed. It is best to get a SIM directly from your carrier that is designed for your particular model of the phone. That eliminates these types of problems.
