I cant sync my app in itouch 2nd gen

i can't sync it. I already reset it. but i cant sync any apps that i purchased. but the music and video is syncing. and it change its iOS 4.2.1 it was 3 before.

- Is the iPod signed into the iTunes account that purchased the app?
- You are syncing the apps right? You can't manual manage apps like you can music.
- Do you have restrictions set that would prevent installing apps? Go to Settings>General>Restrictions to check.

What you do mean a lock icon?
On the whole screen or just in the status bar where it shows "iPod" and Time/Battery?
If the icon's there everything's ok. The feature was removed in iOS 6, anyways, the icon should be only in the lock screen.

Cant sync anymore apps

I have been able to sync apps before but now for some reason i cant sync anymore apps. I have all ready bought the apps but when i sync itunes says 'itunes has encounted a proble do you want to send a error report or not'
Pleas help:)

If you remove an app, can you sync it back on or is this just with new apps you purchase?
Basic trouble shooting would include
1)turn off pc
2)disconnect all USB devices except mouse & keyboard
3)turn pc back on
4)disable all antivirus, spyware programs
Before connecting ipod
5) turn it off (Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, then slide the slider and then back on.
6)plug it in using a different USB port than before
Try those steps once and see if it resolves or at least gives a more specific error.

Itouch 2nd gen not functioning

I still have the itouch 2nd gen .
its not working properly , it doesnt let me slide to unlock it everytime and it doens sensor your finger at all .
and i cant download any app anymore

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore from backup. See:

- Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

In iTunes 11 use Control+B to show the Menu bar then go to iTunes>File>Devices>Transfer Purchases

Itouch 2nd gen continual crashes

My itouch 2nd gen is crashing with a lot of apps. I checked the wired RAM and it's 60%, when I use a program to free the RAM, it crashes too. I've taken off all video, quite a few apps, and this still happens.

Well, I'm afraid of all that I will lose if I restore to factory defaults. Not at all sure that I have everything backed up, or that it's possible to back everything up. This may sound odd, but I have lecture notes on Awesome Note and a ton of books on ebook reader, bn.com (both of which are programs that aren't much supported anymore).

That is likely beause the developer deceided to drop suport for the 2G iPod, not an Apple decision.

How to sync previous purchases to new 2nd Gen appletv?

I tried searching but didn't find any posts that answer my question. I had the 1st gen apple tv and purchased many songs and movie titles. How do I sync my purchases to my 2nd gen apple tv?

ATV2 doesn't have syncing capabilities, unlike the 1st model there is no permanent storage.
You use home-sharing to see your iTunes library and you can access TV shows purchased via iCloud. If you have iTunes Match you can access that from the cloud via ATV2 as well.

But since you ask, my favourite Apps (apart from the in-built ones) are:
aNote (Awesome Note), which - guess what - it's a note taker app.
BBC News - 'cos I like to keep up with the news, but I don't have a TV.
Lemonrock - gig listings in pubs etc. (This may well be a UK only App)
Accounts - keep a note of how much money I (don't) have.
Soundhound - for finding out what music is being played
Tesco - my local supermarket shopping list
You'll note that I've only listed six, not ten. Well, they're my helpful useful ones. You may not like any of them or may not be able to get them if you're not in the UK. Either way, what anyone else thinks is useful or helpful doesn't help you, does it?
My advice, and feel free to ignore it, is take your time deciding which Apps you want. Otherwise, you'll simply end up with lots of Apps you don't like and don't use. Decide what sort of App you think may be of use to you and then read the reviews on it and see if you can use those to decide if it's for you.

Error msg when trying to sync new songs to iPod 2nd gen.

I can't get newly downloaded songs to sync to my ipod nano 2nd gen. They show up & play in iTunes.
I have downloaded latest iTunes software & reset/restored my iPod & continue to get the following message:
Can not sync song. An error has occurred. (+50)
I need a new playlist - help!

Could be a problem with the iPod's hard disk or file storage. Maybe try doing a low level reformat of the iPod's storage using the instructions in this article.

Sounds to me like the battery has failed.
You can take it to an Apple Store. They MAY be able to do something.. Or, you can find parts and "How-To" repair guides on the internet. eBay and Google are your friends...

Itouch 2nd gen. have to renew lease after every sleep mode

Recently my wife and I are having trouble with constantly renewing the lease for internet through wifi in our home. Wife has ipad and I have itouch 2nd gen. Any one know how to fix this. Can't think of any changes except for my itouch upgrading to 4.2.1

Yes, I tried resetting the network on both devices, but was unsuccessful. I did a total reset of the modem and router and the problem remained. Finally, I enabled the RIP which allows the router to send and recieve packets from the ISP. This seemed to have fixed the problem. I have not had to renew lease, since. Thank you for your reply. That was a good start.

i have a itouch 2nd gen which can't update to ios6 and theres no point for me to keep it. Is it possible to exchange to a newer gen of itouch? I dont need the newest gen but an itouch that can be update to ios6.

Why cant i Sync rented films to my iTouch 2nd Gen?

Hey, i have an Orange contract, so i have got myself the Orange Free Thursday Film thing. downloaded the first to my iTouch fine, but not watched it yet, got yestardays via the PC, tired to move it to my iTouch to watch it at home on the 2nd Gen Apple TV, it keeps saying "The Ghost" was not copied to the iPod "Tigger" because it cannot be played on this iPod.
Any hints/tips or fixes for this, running latest iTunes and iTouch software. it has 2+ Gb of free space, but still wont let me move the film.

I recently burned 2 cds of music onto itunes, the first cd of music synced and appears on my 2nd gen ipod touch, the 2nd cd only appears in the itunes library and will not sync

Ipod not syncing
I tried to burn 2 cd's worth of music and two things happened:
1. 1st CD synced with my Ipod, but only as an album (touch 2nd gen) but, disappeared from itunes.
2. 2nd CD appears in my library but will now sync to my ipod
I have space left and am not at the 4GBgb limit.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem with my 2nd gen itouch.
I've tried other computer and my childrens iPods work on my computer so not a windows problem. I've tried reinstalling iTunes and resetting itouch as per apple support pages but nothing, it doesn't even show on my computer. Any help greatly appreciated :-)
