I cant tun off my computer. Help!
Hey everyone. Hah ha....I cannot restart or turn off my macbook pro. What the heck is going on here?
Now my desktop is all cleared and whenever I try to shut it down nothing happens. Just hoping that when it restarts all of my folders on my desktop will reappear.

It may just take a few minutes for some reason... I've seen this happen when I've switched between Airplay speaker sets, used Remote with my ATV2, etc. Seems like it just gets in a look trying to deactivate streams or something. But the steps suggested previously should work, that's how I force it off when this happens.

Hello My iphone 5 won,t hook to computer . I can,t find the serial number. I had a iphone 1 hooked to the same computer why won,t it just fix it self up?
The serial number is in Settings>About on the iPhone or on the back of the box it originally came with.
About the computer, you probably need to update the version of iTunes. What OS do you have on the computer? Is it a PC or a Mac? -
I-pod shuffle 1 will not show up in i-tunes or my computer - HELP!!!
I have the first version of the i-pod shuffle and was using version 9 of i-tunes without any problem until the computer died - the hard drive had to be replaced.
I have reloaded the software for the i-pod and i-tunes but when I connect the i-pod it does not show up on 'My Computer' and does not show up in i-tunes. A message does appear when I first plug the i-pod in asking me whether I want to overwrite the library on the i-pod with the library on i-tunes but beyond that it does not seem to register it's existence.
Furthermore I tried the suggestion of removing the i-pod, stopping the service through the i-pod device properties and then re-connecting the i-pod. When I do this the i-pod appears in 'My Computer,' however when I click to start services or open i-tunes, the i-pod dissapears again?
So many people seem to have this and related problems but there never seems to be a solution? Re-setting, re-starting and re-installing does nothing either.
Please help!have you tried updating the fix version or the iTunes 9.1? they say it can recognize the 1st gen.

Howdy sld1106,
It sounds like you are able to see the screen but it is otherwise unresponsive. I would start by resetting the iPod with this article:
Reset your iPod - Apple Support
That should get your iPod back and working. If not let the device charge for 30 minutes, and then try turning it on normally first, and reset it one more time if it doesn't turn on.

It does not immediately delete the files that are missing.. it merely tries to backup the new files it has discovered on the external drive. Since you moved the files there, the backup at least for a while will contain both copies.. and that is why it doesn't have enough space to backup.
Fixing the problem.. hmm pondini is the expert.. you should be able to delete the backup of the photos in existing backup.. there are instructions to do it.. but it is a very poor way to do things.
Much better. .archive off the existing backup.. this is long and slow but worth it. you need a usb drive of the same size as the TC drive. Then erase the TC and start a fresh set of backups.
The alternative is to use the USB drive as a new target.. but it is much slower than the TC internal drive.

I cant uninstall my itunes off my computer, i have followed instructions and i still have errors, including error 2330 and redundance cyclic. the only software i have left is itunes.exe and file es.lproj which is located in the ituneshelpresources folder. i recently installed a second hard drive and that let me uninstall everything. I just want to get itunes off my computer and reinstall itunes, i have deleted everything i can and i ran "chkdsk" this did nothing. I would have just updated the oild itunes to the newest version but it didnt ley me do that. installing/ uninstalling or deleting just lets me get half way and shows me these errors. Please help, thank you.

If the chkdsk isn't fixing the damage, and those are the only iTunes that can't be deleted, try renaming the "iTunes" folder that they are contained in (in your Program files) to iTunesOLD.
Now try another install. Does it go through without the 2330 this time? -
Got a new PC. Took the tunes off of my old PC - transferred to new one and opened new account. - Tossed out old PC. No nione of the tunes I bought and paid for are accessable anymore. What's worse - when I plug in my daughters I pod to add to her songs the system wants to dleate everything on her ipod...which would be fine except none of the songs on her ipod seem to be on my comoputer anymore - where the heck are the songs I paid for? If they are only on my daughters Ipod - how do I get them off of there and back onto my computer?
You misunderstand.
If you lose a credit card, the account is not gone. You call your credit card company, report the loss, and they issue you a new card. You still have the same account; just a new card which you use to access that account.
Since your old computer is stolen/sold/thrown away/lost/not working, you can no longer use it to access your iTunes account. But that iTunes account, associated with a particular Apple ID, still exists. All you need to do is enter the account information into iTunes on your new computer.
You said you already transfered the "material" from your old computer to your new computer. So if that's already done, there's no need to transfer anything from the iPod to your new computer. All you need to do is authorize your new computer for the old media and apps, and the way you do that is by logging in to the iTunes Store within the iTunes application on that new computer using your previous Apple ID and password.

It has always beenv ery basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer for just such an occasion. Use your backup copy to put everything back.

It sounds as if this is a settings issue. At the moment I run 4 devices from the one machine. My iPod classic is the main device and I have it set to auto sync when attached, the others are set to only transfer the songs I want to transfer.
When you connect the device on the settings tab (top of screen) you will have 3 parts to the screen: a) iPod - this will show you the device ID etc inc serial number; b) Version - whether you have the most update version of iTunes; and c) Options. This allows you to tick the options you want including the sync of the selected songs.
If all else fails on the version section there is an option to restore the iPod to factory settings.

Your technical issues have zero to do with the installers. Whatever is at play is rooted on your system, but you have not provided any specific system info nor crash logs. Pardon me, but "Photoshop is crashing" is a useful as my 88 year old grandma telling me her phone doesn't work...
